Shaquille O’Neal, Authentic Brands Group and TNT Sport’s DUNKMAN presented by Lilly, in partnership with Credit One Bank, made its mark at Fanatics Fest this weekend with a record-breaking moment that has the sports world buzzing.
DUNKMAN athlete Darius Clark set a new world record for the vertical jump, reaching 53 inches live in front of the Fanatics Fest crowd, and DUNKMAN commissioner, Shaquille O'Neal rewarded him with $15k on the spot.
The jump capped off a full day of DUNKMAN activity, which began with a press conference introducing four of the 24 dunkers inducing 3x NBA Dunk Contest Champion Mac McClung, as well as Chinese dunking sensation, Dengxing Chen. Shaquille O’Neal then welcomed rising NBA star Cooper Flagg for an episode of his The Big Podcast.
The world’s first professional dunk league officially launches with the first of five live events this Tuesday, July 21, at 8 p.m. ET in Atlanta. The event will air across TNT and HBO Max, with additional coverage across Bleacher Report, House of Highlights and DUNKMAN’s social channels.
The event is open to fans. Four group stages, with every attempt judged, will lead to the August 25 World Championship, where the winner will take home $500,000, the largest prize in dunking history. Tickets are available now at www.sitickets.com.
