Following a pre-trial hearing today for WWE star Marcel "Ludwig Kaiser aka El Grande Americano" Barthel in Florida, Barthel's attorney filed a motion to continue (delay) proceedings until 8/27.
Barthel's attorney also filed a waiver for a speedy trial, meaning he has given up his rights to be tried within a certain timeframe.
As it currently stands, the court is expecting a trial to take place in September. Obviously, if there is a plea deal or the charges are dismissed, that won't be the case.
Barthel was not present at the hearing.
