WWE aired a vignette building to the return of William Morrisey aka Big Cass on Monday 8/3.
Morrisey had been with AEW as Big Bill and is still listed on their website as a member of their roster.
Morrisey, 39, trained under WWE Hall of Famer Johnny Rodz before being signed to WWE developmental in 2011. He was part of the original generation of WWE NXT stars alongside Enzo Amore and Carmella with both being drafted to Raw in 2016. He was released from the company in 2019 amdist several personal issues and hit the independent scene. After addressing his issues, he debuted for TNA as W. Morrisey, where he looked absolutely great in main events against Moose and others. His work led to him being signed by AEW, where he was most notably part of The Learning Tree with Chris Jericho and Bryan Keith. He last wrestled for AEW's sister company ROH in April.
Morrisey's original trainer Johnny Rodz reacted to the video on Twitter, writing, "Congrats Big Cass! @TheCaZXL"
