Gabe Kidd vs. Drilla Moloney will be rescheduled to a future card in Japan.
1 - Aaron Wolf vs. HENARE
Wolf pins HENARE after hitting an Angle Slam.

2 - Shingo Takagi vs. Jake Lee
Lee kept hitting Takagi with knee strikes. Takagi was selling the effects. Takagi hit a Burning Dragon on the floor. Takagi with a superplex. Lee hit a knee strike and a punt kick. Lee goes for a Face Break Shot but Takagi has a counter. They trade strikes and reversals. Takagi hits another Burning Hammer. Lee finally hits the Face Break Shot and gets the pin.

3 - OSKAR vs. Ren Narita
OSKAR debuts new music and new ring entrance gear for his solo matches.
Narita attacks OSKAR's knee at the start of the match. They fight to the floor and Narita hits OSKAR with a chair in the left knee. Narita continues to attack the left knee. OSKAR hits a chop. Narita kicks him in the knee and applies a front face lock choke. OSKAR reverses out and applies the Nightmare Sleeper. Narita escapes and applies a knee bar submission. Rope break. OSKAR blocks a Double Cross and applies the Nightmare Sleeper. OSKAR spins Narita in a circle and Narita is out cold. OSKAR wins the match.

So far this Chicago crowd is into the show so far, which is a great thing to hear and see.
4 - Yuto-Ice vs. Great O-Khan
Yuto gets a massive pop, with his new ring gear and entrance music. They are already chanting "Lets Get High".
They fight to the floor. O-Khan hits Yuto with chair in the back and in the head. Yuto is dazed and O-Khan hits him with Mongolian chops. Yuto brawls back and kicks O-Khan in the gut. Yuto hits the Bomboclat knee strike. O-Khan goes for a punch to the jaw but Yuto hits a kick to the head first. Yuto sets up O-Khan for Cruella but O-Khan tries to escape. O-Khan hits a low blow and an airplane spin. Two count. Crowd is behind Yuto. O-Khan hits his right punch to Yuto's jaw and slams his head into mat. O-Khan goes for the Eliminator, but Yuto hits a knee strike. Yuto hits a knockout punch and follows with Cruella.

5 - Shota Umino vs. Zack Sabre Jr.
Umino hits a dropkick to the knee. ZSJ comes back with a takedown, a neck wrench and hammers Umino with strikes. ZSJ kicks Umino in the chest and back. Umino fights back with elbows and a dropkick. Umino with a Fisherman Suplex. Two count. Umino hits a DDT on the ring apron. Umino hits a Jackknife Powerbomb. Two count. Umino is getting some chants.
Umino goes for a superplex, but ZSJ hits a sunset bomb off the ropes. They trade strikes. Umino hits a Tornado DDT. ZSJ takes downt Umino with a double hammerlock submission. Umino with a rope break. Umino hits a Zack Driver on ZSJ. Umino hits two knee strikes. ZSJ comes back with stiff punt kick to the chest. Umino with a lariat. ZSJ hits a Zack Driver. Two count. Umino goes for an O'Conner Roll but ZSJ traps Umino in a Sleeper. ZSJ hits a second Zack Driver.

SANADA comes out in a golden shiny outfit. No sign of House of Torture tonight.
SANADA attacks Goto's left knee and rolls him into a Paradise Lock. Good back and forth match. SANADA goes for a Deadfall, but Goto reverses into a Reverse GTR. SANADA applies Skull End. SANADA hits a Moonsault. Goto kicks out at two. Goto escapes another Deadfall, and Goto hits a GTW. SANADA with a Shining Wizard. They exchange reversals. Goto hits a hard GTR.

7 - Yuya Uemura vs. Callum Newman
Newman is entering this G1 with a left shoulder injury.
Very fast paced start. They fight into the crowd and throw their bodies into the chairs. Uemura beats the count back into the ring, but Newman punt kicks him on the side of his end. Uemura goes for submissions on the left shoulder. They trade chops and strikes. Uemura applies a cross arm breaker. Rope break. Newman spits Uemura's face. Newman hits the Prince's Curse. Two count. Newman hits Kiss the Crown. Uemura hits a release Deadbolt Suplex, and follows with a body press. Two count. Uemura misses a second body press and Newman hits Excalibur. Two count. They trade nearfalls. Newman hits Kiss the Crown and Make Way for the Prince. Newman pins Uemura.

8 - Ryohei Oiwa vs. Boltin Oleg
Both men start with strikes and chops. It became a power match. Oiwa worked over the left arm, which was taped up. Oiwa gets the R Clutch on the arm and Oleg submits.

9 - Konosuke Takeshita vs. Yota Tsuji
Takeshita gets a pop from the crowd. There was a mixed reaction for the IWGP Heavyweight champion.
Good fun match. Both men played to the crowd to get them chanting. Takeshita with a tope con hilo on Tsuji. Takeshita hit an Exploder for a two count. Takeshit hit a modified driver and lifted Tsuji into a release German suplex. Takeshita with a Blue Thunder Bomb. Two count. Tsuji applies a Boston Crab. Tsuji hits a Reverse Styles Clash. Two count. The crowd chants "this is awesome". Takeshita hits a Poisonrana. Tsuji rolls onto his feet and goes for a Gene Blaster but Takeshita hits a Power Drive Knee. Sick! Tsuji kicks out. Crowd is standing. They trade reversals. Tsuji hits Silver Lining. Two count. Tsuji hits a running knee strike. Tsuji goes for a triple jump curb stomp, but blocks it. They fought to the top rope. They both fall to the mat. The referee does a standing 10 count. Both men grab the referee's arms to stop the count at 9. They trade strikes. Takeshita goes for a Power Drive Knee, but Tsuji connects with Gene Blaster. Tsuji hits running knee strike. Takeshita kicks out at one to a massive pop. Tsuji with Gene Blaster. Two count. Tsuji hits the Fire Blaster. Tsuji pins Takeshita.

Good win for Yota Tsuji on American soil on a big stage. New Japan has a lot of work to get some of these names over to a worldwide audience. This was a good start. There will be mixed reactions, so it will be a struggle when there are so many options in wrestling. New Japan did a great job in getting their product over in Chicago.
