7/9 TNA THURSDAY NIGHT IMPACT REPORT

By Mike Johnson on 2026-07-09 23:34:00

Welcome to the PWInsider.com TNA Thursday Night Impact report.

Once again, they are broadcasting from Albany with Tom Hannifan and Matt Rehwoldt on the call.

TNA Tag Team Champions The Hardys vs. The Great Hands with Tasha Steelz

eff Hardy started the match against Jason Hotch, who made the mistake of mocking Jeff's signature dancing. Jeff responded immediately, leveling Hotch with a shoulder tackle before driving him into the corner. Matt Hardy tagged in, and the brothers worked together to stomp Hotch down in the corner.

After a quick pin attempt, Skylar tagged into the match, allowing The Great Hands to doubleteam Matt. They isolated him in their corner, and Hotch once again taunted Jeff by mocking his dance moves. The insult enraged Jeff, but the referee prevented him from getting involved.

The momentum shifted when Matt made the hot tag to Jeff just as Skylar entered the ring. Jeff exploded with flying elbows and stomps, then went for the cover, but Hotch rushed in to break up the pin.

Jeff attempted a Whisper in the Wind, but The Great Hands avoided the move and connected with The Favor. Matt dove in just in time to break up the ensuing pinfall.

Jeff recovered by planting Skylar with a Twist of Fate before tagging in Matt, who delivered his own Twist of Fate. Matt then tagged Jeff back into the match, and Jeff climbed to the top rope before crashing down with a Swanton Bomb for the pinfall.

Your winners and still TNA Tag Team Champions, The Hardys!

Mustafa Ali and Special Agent Zero came out but Ali took a call and they walked off.  The announcers wondered who he was calling.

Gia Miller interviewed Lei Ying Lee.  She said at Slammiversary, she lost the title and someone she called a friend.  Brookside wanted the title more than a friend.  Tonight, there is no excuse when they fight.  She will give everything because that title belongs to a real warrior and she will take it back.

Next was an edition of The King's Speech with Frankie Kazarian welcoming Moose.  He asked Moose how it felt to beat every member of The System. Moose said it was a moment he'll always cherish because he was able to share it with his family.  Kazarian replied that Moose's family needs therapy afyer the PPV.  Moore shot that down and said he's out to dominate TNA and issued n open challenge to anyone who wanted to face him..  Kazarian insulted him, asking how Moose could dare refer to himself as the Franchise of TNA when he's in the ring with Kazarian.  Is Shane Douglas lurking somewhere?  Moose questioned who named Kazarian queen and said there are wrestlers who use TNA as a stepping stone but he's stayed and made it his home.  Kazarian ripped him and declared he was the last standing Oriignal.  Moose agreed and said he's done a lot but he's never beaten Moose.  Moose challenged him but Kazarian turned it down.  AJ Francis came out and said Moose left the NFL to avoid him.  It ended up with a match made for next week.

Elijah did a promo where he made it clear he's looking for the TNA title.

TNA Knockouts TV Championship Tournament: Indi Hartwell vs. Vicious Vicky Venuto

Venuto, a standout in the New Jersey scene, grabbed a waistlock, but Indi Hartwell quickly countered and slammed Venuto's head into the turnbuckles. Hartwell reversed an Irish whip into the corner before catching Venuto with a big boot. She followed up with a corner lariat, but missed an uppercut, giving Venuto an opening to seize control.  Venuto answered with a big suplex for a two count. She kept the pressure on with a series of chops in the corner before landing a back kick for another near fall. An aggressive whip into the corner set up a dropkick, but Hartwell once again kicked out at two.   Hartwell rallied with a clothesline off the ropes followed by a spinebuster, earning a two count.  She went for a full nelson, but Venuto countered with an Ace Crusher.   Venuto went for a spinning DDT, but Hartwell reversed and nailed Hurt Donuts for the pin.

Your winner, Indi Hartwell!

The Injury Report:  Allie is being evaluated for a neck injury.  The Concierge remains out after being misted by Rosemary.  Nic Nemeth is doing great.

They aired a video feature on Fabian Aichner, who is gunning for Cedric Alexander's X-Division title.

Leon Slater & Ricky Sosa vs. The Righteous vs. Bear Bronson & Brian Myers

Leon Slater and Brian Myers started things off, with The Righteous watching from the apron. Slater came out flying, running over Myers before connecting with a recoil enzuigiri. Myers retreated to the corner and tagged in Dutch.  Slater knocked Vincent off the apron, then teamed with Myron Reed Sosa to blast Dutch with stereo superkicks that sent him to the floor. Jake Something Bronson entered next, but Slater used Bronson's momentum against him to send him tumbling to the outside as well. Slater and Sosa began counting down, leaving Bronson confused, until both men launched themselves over the ropes with stereo dives that wiped out everyone on the floor.

Back inside, Slater and Sosa isolated Vincent in the corner. Slater landed mounted punches before Sosa followed with a corner clothesline, a chop, and a dropkick for a two count. Slater tagged back in and whipped Vincent into a neutral corner before tossing Sosa into him. The duo followed with an assisted powerslam, but Vincent still kicked out at two.  Slater climbed to the top rope, but Myers distracted the referee while Dutch shoved him to the mat.  Vincent capitalized with a Flatliner and a series of grounded punches. Dutch tagged in and slammed him onto Slater for another near fall. Vincent knocked Sosa off the apron, allowing The Righteous to isolate Slater. Dutch slowed the pace with a lengthy chinlock as the match headed into the commercial break.

When the action resumed, Slater fought to his feet, but Bronson tagged himself in after slapping Dutch on the back. The two powerhouse partners briefly squared off before Vincent and Myers separated them. Bronson then planted Slater with a Choke Bomb, but Sosa broke up the pin. Myers looked for the Roster Cut, only to eat a superkick from Slater.  Sosa finally received the hot tag and cleaned house. He fought off both Bronson and members of The Righteous, planting Bronson with a full nelson slam before connecting with a springboard moonsault. Vincent broke up the cover, and the match quickly descended into chaos as everyone got involved.

Dutch blasted Myers with Death Walks before squaring off with Bronson. With both men dropping the straps, they traded heavy strikes until Bronson sent Dutch over the top rope with a low bridge and followed with a shoulder tackle from the apron.  As Bronson and Dutch brawled on the floor, Slater soared over the top rope to wipe them both out. Slater then rolled Bronson back into the ring, where Sosa connected with a huge flying European uppercut to score the pin.

Your winners, Ricky Sosa and Leon Slater!

TNA Knockouts TV Championship Tournament: Jody Threat vs. Gabby Forza

This is Forza's TNA debut.  They met in the center of the ring and showed each other respect before locking up. Gabby Forza got the better of the opening exchange, but Jody Threat quickly took control with an arm wrench into a side headlock. Threat tried to shoulder Forza off her feet, but Forza stood her ground, leading to an intense staredown and a pair of primal screams. Threat finally managed to take Forza down before unloading with strikes in the corner. As she charged back in, Forza countered by sending Threat onto the apron.

Threat responded by driving Forza's head into the turnbuckle before climbing to the top rope and connecting with a dropkick for a two.  She then locked in a crossface, but Forza powered to her feet and drove Threat into the corner to break the hold. Forza followed with a series of shoulder thrusts before planting Threat with an Oklahoma Slam for another near fall. She stayed on the attack with a Vader Bomb, but Threat kicked out at two before nearly stealing the match with a quick rollup.  They faced off in the center of the ring, each determined to prove who was tougher, repeatedly colliding shoulder-first. Threat finally gained the advantage with a drop toe hold followed by a leaping teabag. A release German suplex sent Forza to the apron, where Threat blasted her with a running dropkick to the back before following her to the floor with a cannonball off the apron.

Threat rolled Forza back into the ring but took too long climbing to the top rope, allowing Forza to recover and crush her with a lariat. Forza followed with a powerslam and a Torture Rack Bomb, but Threat somehow kicked out at two. Looking to finish things, Forza went for another Vader Bomb, but Threat rolled out of the way and capitalized with an F5 for the pin.

Your winner, Jody Threat!

Backstage, Mustafa Ali was speaking to someone off camera and noted they were right and that change was needed.  Next week, it will be the State of Order 4 and attendance is mandatory..  The announcers pondered who he was speaking with.  I can assure you it wasn't Tommy Dreamer.

KC Navarro came to the ring.   He said he was turned on by someone he respected, Nic Nemeth.  He demanded Nemeth come out and tell him to his face to explain himself.   Nemeth obliged and told Navarro that he genuinely wanted to help make him into something special in TNA, but, unfortunately, "Nobody has that much time." OUCH.    Nemeth said Navarro just simply doesn't have it and didn't even deserve to stand with Nemeth.  Navarro was furious and said the real problem was Ryan Nemeth and said he beat him, so Ryan is the one who doesn't have it  Ryan hit the ring and attacked him from behind.  Nic told KC he never deserved to be in his shadow and told him to never come near him and his brother again.  He told Navarro to drop it and leave him alone.

TNA Knockouts Champion Xia Brookside vs. Lei Ying Lee

The bell rang, but Xia Brookside immediately rolled to the floor, forcing Lei Ying Lee to give chase. Lee caught Brookside with a shotgun dropkick before grabbing her trademark fan. She looked for a corkscrew kick, but Brookside slammed Lee's hand into the ring steps to stop the attack.  Back inside the ring, Lee stayed in control, stomping Brookside down before landing a big lariat. She dragged Brookside out of the corner and targeted her neck and spine with a series of strikes and a running knee.

Brookside tried to create an opening with a cheap shot, but Lee shrugged it off and continued the assault. When Brookside attempted her own kick, Lee blocked it and answered with kicks of her own. Brookside retreated to the floor, but Lee wiped her out with a diving elbow to the outside before stomping on her leg.  Once back in the ring, Lee scored a two count. Brookside then snatched Lee's fan and turned it into a weapon, repeatedly striking Lee's injured leg before mocking her by fanning herself. She continued targeting the leg, then abandoned the fan in favor of a suplex.  Brookside escalated the violence by retrieving a leather belt from underneath the ring. After cracking it for dramatic effect, she repeatedly whipped Lee before wrapping the belt around her leg and wrenching back on it. Lee briefly escaped with a rollup, but Brookside quickly regained control, even driving the buckle end of the belt into Lee's head.

Brookside missed a running double knee attack, allowing Lee to rally with a hook kick, a running boot, and a dropkick that sent the champion into the corner. Lee's injured leg initially prevented her from following up, but she fought through the pain to deliver the ten count punches. An Exploder Suplex sent Brookside tumbling to the floor.  Lee then emptied the ringside area, tossing chairs and a kendo stick into the ring before delighting the crowd by pulling out a table. As she tried to set it up, Brookside recovered. Lee smashed her face into the ring steps and then into the table before attempting a powerbomb on the apron, but Brookside escaped back into the ring.  She blasted Lee with repeated kendo stick shots before using the weapon to choke her across the ropes from the top turnbuckle. She even paused to admire her handiwork before placing the Knockouts Championship on the apron. Brookside then taunted the fans by tipping over the table instead, but that taunting allowed Lee to level her with a shoulder tackle.

Lee unloaded with repeated chair shots before placing the championship belt in the center of the ring. Brookside countered with a jawbreaker, only for Lee to answer with a running knee. Lee stacked several chairs in the ring and slammed Brookside onto the pile before climbing to the top rope. Her senton splash missed, however, as Brookside rolled away, leaving Lee to crash onto the chairs.  Brookside nailed her with the title belt.  They battled until the champ nailed Darkside and scored the pin.

Your winner and still Champion, Xia Brookside!
