Rachel Price, who was given a default judgment in her lawsuit against independent promotion ICW: No Holds Barred after the promotion has stopped responding and appearing before the United States District Court of New Jersey after their initial attorney removed himself from the case filed a new motion on 7/2, alleging the promotion has shifted its assets under a new LLC, NHB Merch and is seeking to amend her lawsuit to include the new LLC as well as the company's owner Danny Purdue (aka Danny Demanto) in order to prevent them from being able to be held liable for anything she may be awared in the lawsuit she filed back in 2024.
In that lawsuit, Price alleged she was working for the venue at a 6/25/22 ICW: NHB event when there was an announcement made that those with vehicles in a lot adjacent to the move their vehicles. Price claims she exited the venue via a side door to move her vehicle, but poor lighting, a lack of railing, no signage and a lack of employees stationed at the door caused her to fall from the landing to the floor below, at least three feet, where she was injured. Price has alleged she has permanent personal injuries and is suing for over $75,000.
Court records indicate that the parent company of the Heart Ballroom never responded and a summary judgment was ruled against them. Whether Price recovered any damages from them is unknown.
ICW: NHB did respond to the lawsuit, basically stating that any issues that happened were the responsibility of the venue, not them, as they had merely rented the space for the evening. On 1/29, ICW: NHB's attorney withdrew from the case as he had relocated. Since then, the court has not heard from anyone new representing the promotion and have not heard from its owner Danny "Demanto" Purdue either. There had been a settlement conference set for 3/10 but no one representing ICW: NHB appeared to take part.
The court advised on 4/30 that Price could request a summary judgment against ICW: NHB but would need to do so within 30 days of that advisement. Price did that and on 6/2, the Court informed Price she could file a motion of final judgment against ICW. She did just that on 7/2, while also seeking to add Purdue personally as well as the new LLC.
Purdue made reference to the lawsuit on the mic at an ICW: NHB event and social media a few months ago, implying that it could hurt the future of the promotion. Price is using that statement as her basis to add Pudue and the new LLC to the lawsuit, citing in the motion, "As set forth in the Proposed Amended Complaint, DANIEL PERDUE A/K/A DANNY DEMANTO, the sole member of ICW NO HOLDS BARRED LLC, stated in person, on social media and in interviews that he was closing ICW NO HOLDS BARRED LLC in order to avoid paying any judgment in the instant lawsuit and starting a new business to continue promoting wrestling events, including those already scheduled."
In the filing, Price is claiming the promotion has shifted everything under the new LLC and is now running under the company name No Holds Barred - The Chains.
The court will rule on 8/3 and has set 7/27 as the deadline for all parties to reply to the motion.
Currently, NHB - The Chains has live events in Atlantic City, Cambridge, MA and Red Bank, TN scheduled for this summer and fall.
