First, an update from last week. Social media posts indicate Rob Gronkowski was indeed at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding.
Isn't the push for WWE at The Garden weird? They are pushing it's the same day as Fanaticsfest and it's all about Danhausen. Who gets the blame when the show doesn't draw?
I don't know who gets the blame, but the promotion has been odd. I've never ever seen WWE push an event as if it's secondary to another event taking place. To me, it shows you how much they value the relationship with Fanatics to push MSG itself as secondary. I get using Danhausen because he's the hot thing right now especially with kids and merchandise, but yeah, that promotion for a TV show is a far cry from what WWE traditionally does in NYC.
Has there been any word on MJF's role in Violent Night 2?
All we have heard is that he plays one of the top villains in the film, which is slated to be released this December. We haven't heard anything else about the role, plot, etc.
There's been quite the discourse on the idea of Sheamus coming to AEW. Should he be there? Thoughts?
I look at it like this - if he can help AEW draw fans and can have fun matches, the argument should only be when should he debut. He's a big name in Europe, so can he add fans to Wembley Stadium this summer? Can he have a kickass match with someone, perhaps Claudio Castagnoli there? To me, if he can help the promotion, it should be at least be a conversation. We've seen talents come to other companies and just take a spot and not do much to help the company, but that's never been the reputation that Sheamus has had as a talent. If someone is going to complain he shouldn't be there because he had a long WWE run, well so did Ricochet and he's done pretty well in AEW. You have to look at these things on a case by case basis.
Did WWE let Apollo Crews out of his 90 days early or was his contract just not renewed like Kay Lee Ray?
I haven't gotten a straight answer on that but my belief is WWE wouldn't have let him out early, even to work for a promotional partner in TNA.
Where did Crews go? He didn't work the TNA tapings in Albany.
No one has given me an answer on that one. It could be he wasn't available on those dates and will work Philly at the end of July.
Where is Hangman Page?
He's been taking a scheduled break from AEW.
