TNA THURSDAY NIGHT IMPACT REPORT

By Mike Johnson on 2026-07-02 23:00:00

Welcome to PWInsider.com's TNA Thursday Night Impact on AMC report!

TNA is in Albany, NY at The Broadview Center.

Tom Hannifan and Matt Rehwoldt are your announcers.

They review the events of TNA Slammiversary.

Ryan Nemeth introduced his brother, new TNA Champion Nic Nemeth.  Nemeth made his way to the ring.  Nemeth said everyone is talking about how the TNA roster knocked it out of the park at the PPV and he did it better than everyone else.  Nemeth said there's been a lot of rumors so he wants to address his bodycount.  Ryan opened a scroll with the names of pro wrestlers Nemeth, naming Kane, Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes, Jeff Hardy, Rey Mysterio and more.  KC Navarro came out on the stage and said he's upset.  He said he's been learning from Nemeth in recent weeks but he's not digging what Nemeth is doing.  Navarro started arguing with Ryan.  Nemeth said they were two stooges out here acting like idiots.  He's the champ and they should be too.  He demanded they get it out of their system and fight tonight in Albany.  He said then they put all of this behind them and get back to the business of them being champions.  Nemeth said he is still the best pro wrestler walking the Earth and if he hasn't beaten your favorite, he will.  He dares anyone to challenge him, because they will be added to the ever-lasting list of people he's beaten.  All three left together.

Gia Miller interviewed Leon Slater backstage.  He's facing Eddie Edwards in the main event tonight.  He said he's not done chasing the X-Division title and he's going to focus on beating people who have been where he wants to go.  That includes Edwards, a former Champion.  He's still face of the X-Division but if he wants to be World Champion and the face of TNA, he has to start taking out scum like Edwards.

TNA Knockouts TV Championship Tournament: Tasha Steelz vs. Mara Sade

They locked up and Sade surprised Tasha with a backslide.  They exchanged pinfall attempts and Steelz went to the floor to regroup.  Sade nailed a nice sliding kick to the outside.  She drilled Tasha into the apron several times and took her down on the floor before dumping Steelz back into the ring.  Steelz rolled back out.  Mara went for a kick from the apron but was caught and slammed to the mat.  Tasha worked her over back in the ring.  Steelz locked in a camel clutch but Sade fought her way out and nailed a series of elbows.  Steels ripped at Mara's eyes to stop her and began nailing a series of short arm clotheslines.

Steelz went to the top for a splash but Sade rolled out of the way.  Steelz charged Mara but she avoided it.  Steelz hit the ring post with her shoulder and crashed to the floor.  Sade nailed a pescado to the floor.  She worked over Steelz with a series of bodyshots and strikes and drilled her with a Slingblade.  Sade nailed a hip attack in the corner and stomped away at Tasha.  Steelz fired back and locked on the Rings of Steelz.  Sade fought back and went to the ropes.  Steelz nailed her and tied her to the tree of woe.  Steelz charged but Mara pulled herself up.  Steelz KO'd herself on the buckles.  Sade hit a great moonsault and scored the pin.

Your winner, advancing, Mara Sade!

As Mara was leaving, Mustafa Ali and Secret Agent Zero stood in the aisle, unhappy.

Rich Swann and BDE were together.  Swann said they are boys but tonight, they can't take it easy on each other when they battle as part of the field of competition for the X-Division Championship top contendership.

They aired a Lockdown PPV promo.  Despite the fact he's gone, Mike Santana was still featured.

Fabian Aichner vs. Rich Swann vs. Home Town Man vs. Jason Hotch vs. Mr. Elegance vs. BDE

BDE and Swann battled in the ring while everyone else battled on the floor.  They faced off after a series of exchanges.  Elegance got involved, as did Aichner.  He nailed a butter superplex on Swann for a close two count but BDE broke up the pinfall.  BDE went for a moonsault but was caught.  Hotch nailed a high cross bodyblock.  Hotch looked super smooth but was caught by  HTM Airplane Spin.  He nailed several other competitors and then drilled him with a TKO.  HTM hit a pescado to the floor on Aichner but Elegance grabbed him and raked the eyes.  BDE nailed a triangle dropkick on Elegance and the hit dive but was caught and sent into the ring post.  Swann nailed a twisting moonsault onto everyone on the floor.  Swann has looked awesome of late.  They battled in the corner and that led to a Tower of Doom spot.   This set up a series of big moves, culminating in Fabian Aichner pinning BDE.

Your winner, Fabian Aichner.

The Injury Report: They said all four teams in the Ladder Match have been given a mandatory week off to recover before being given clearance to wrestle again.  OK, so how in the world did I just watch Jason Hotch of The Great Hands wrestle 30 seconds ago?  They claimed the Concierge is having extreme pain and blurred vision after Rosemary misted him.  Tom Hannifan laughed about that.  Trey Miguel hopes to be cleared in the weeks to come.  Leon Slater and Eddie Edwards are cleared from tonight.  Matt Rehwoldt jumped in to say Nic Nemeth wants everyone to know he's never felt better and his tan has never looked as good.  OK, that was funny.

Ricky Sosa was walking backstage when he came across AJ Francis and his new cornerman Expressions.   They said Sosa would be going to the ring shortly.

Backstage, Mustafa Ali said he was not upset Order 4 failed but that they seem to be comfortable with failing.  John Skyler said he was going to go demand a TNA Tag Team title shot.  Ali said he won't do anything.  Ali will do it himself but he needs them to win.

Ricky Sosa came to the ring for a promo.  Sosa said he fought Eric Young and at his first Slammiversary, he proved he belongs here like a man.  He said he felt the pressure and the stress, but the only thing left was "Bang Bang Sosa Sosa."  The Righteous made their way to the ring.  Dutch said they hear the chatter too and it's that Sosa is a once in a lifetime signing.  Perhaps they are right he's the future, but protential is lonely.  Most people never know what their potential is, but The Righteous reveals it.  They did that for the Hardy Boyz.    They can do that for Sosa. Alisha and Eddie Edwards came out.  They teased the idea that Sosa should join The System, not The Righteous.   Do you want to be a World Champion or join a cult?  Vincent said The System sees Sosa as a threat.  Their actions are meaningless as they are the ones throwing in the towel (reference to Edwards losing to Moose at the PPV).  Sosa told each of the groups no.  Sosa said the only people he will align himself with are the fans.  Edwards attacked him.  Dutch got in Edwards' face.  Sosa nailed Edwards.  The System attacked Sosa, leading to Leon Slater hitting the ring for the save and joining the fray.  The System swarmed over Slater and Sosa as The Righteous slinked away.

After a commercial, Ellijah was somewhere singing.  He said everyone's going to know TNA walks this way.

TNA Knockouts TV Championship Tournament: Heather by Elegance vs.  TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champion Allie

Heather attacked Allie before the bell and controlled her early on.  Allie was whipped hard into the buckles.  Allie regained control and worked over Heather on the floor.  As she returned to the ring, Allie's neck was snapped over the ropes.  Heather rained down with right hands on the mat and choked Allie against the ropes before dropkicking her in the back.  Heather score a two count.  Allie avoided a moonsault off the ropes and fired back with right hands.  Heather returned the shots.  Allie nailed a series of clotheslines, followed by a running knee strike.  Allie used the upside dow headscissors.   M by Elegance got on the apron.  Rosemary nailed her but the distraction allowed Heather to take her down and nail a double stomp off the ropes for the pin.

Your winner, advancing, Heather by Elegance!

New TNA Knockouts Champion Xia Brookside came to the ring and said she told everyone so.  She said Lei Ying Lee was selfish and holding Xia back.  No one would ever have gotten the chance to see how good Brookside was because of Ying, but look at her now.  She was right about everything and now she's the new champion.    She said the division belongs to her.  Anyone who tries to come between her and the title, Xia will do anything to keep it.  Lei Ying Lee came out and said there was a day she would have been happy for her over fighting for the TNA "Lockout" title and even for Xia winning but she's no champion.  Lee called her a fake "b**ch."  The crowd chanted that at her.  She told Xia she has everything to lose and Lee has a rematch next week on Impact.  They tried to fight for a moment but Xia ran off after trying use the title as a weapon.  Lee said if she wants a weapon, it can be a No DQ match next week.

Mustafa Ali told Daria Rae she owes him a favor after her mistake at Slammiversary.  He asked for a title match for The Great Hands next week.  She said that she's the suit, so the match is whatever she says it is...a 3 way, a 5 way, whatever, so she didn't make a mistake.  Uh, wasn't the story that Santino Marella made it a three way?  The idea of a Tag Team title match on Impact sounds great.  Ali asked her if it could be next week.  She said it was done and they shook hands.

Ryan Nemeth vs. KC Navarro

Nic is on commentary, so you know he's interfering.

Navarro caught Ryan with a lariat for a two count and nailed a series of right hands early.  He missed a stomp and Ryan caught him in the ropes, knocking him off the buckles and drilling him with a kick to the side of the head.  Nemeth nailed a neckbreaker on the floor.   Nemeth covered him for a two count.  Back in the ring, he locked on a side chinlock.  Navarro fought back and nailed a splash in the corner, them hit a tornado DDT for a two count.

Navarro missed a charge in the corner and hit his shoulder on the ring post.  Ryan rolled him up for a two count.  Nemeth went for a Rude Awakening neckbreaker but Navarro broke free and dropkicked him into the ropes.  Navarro nailed a 619 and scored the pin.

Your winner, KC Navarro!

On commentary, Nemeth said it was over and they can put all of this behind them.  Nemeth said their arms and made them shake hands.  He hugged Ryan, then Navarro.  Nemeth then snapped Navarro with Danger Zome.  He stood over Navarro looking at him in disgust.  The Nemeth brothers walked off.

Backstage, The Hardys said they will face The Great Hands next week.  It's not a favor, but a sacrifice.  They will out there with an arena full of "Die-Hardys" who have their backs.  They have the nuts and the guts to accomplish anything.

Before the main event, Alisha Edwards took the mic and told the fans they should be cheering for Eddie.  Leon Slater got on the ropes and the crowd went nuts for him.  They kept playing Slater's music to the crowd's delight as Alisha protested.

Eddie Edwards vs. Leon Slater

Slater drilled Edwards and worked him over with right hands in the corner.  Eddie raked his eyes but Slater came back with a handspring elbow.  Edwards was sent to the floor.  Slater set up and hit a pescado to the floor.  Eddie cut him off and worked over Slater in the corner.  Edwards drilled him with hard chops.  Slater was worked over but tried to fight back with kicks.  Edwards choked him in the corner and backdropped Slater.  Slater kicked up at one.

Edwards argued with the referee as Alisha choked Slater against the ropes.  Slater continued to take the abuse at the hands of Edwards.  Edwards went for a moonsault but Slater rolled out of the way.  later psyched himself up and nailed a spinkick.  He avoided a Blue Thunder Bomb and came off the top with a flying bodypress for a two count.  Edwards made a comeback with a backpack stunner.   Edwards nailed a Tiger Bomb but Slater kicked out, which surprised Edwards.  The crowd chanted for Leon.

Slater escaped The Boston Knee Party and went for a move off the top. Cedric Alexander hit the ring as Alisha distracted the referee.  Slater was distracted, allowing Edwards to roll him up and hook the rights for the pin.

Your winner, Eddie Edwards!

The System worked over Slater but Ricky Sosa hit the ring to make the save, repaying the favor from earlier.  They shook hands and celebrated in the ring as TNA went off the air.
