INTERNATIONAL TITLE, NEW TNA HALL OF FAMER REVEALED, ULTIMATE X, TRIBUTE TO JOE DOERING: LIVE, ONGOING TNA SLAMMIVERSARY COVERAGE FROM BOSTON

By Mike Johnson on 2026-06-28 15:00:00

Welcome to PWInsider.com's live, ongoing TNA Slammiversary 2206 PPV coverage from The Agganis Arena in Boston, MA!

A personal note before we begin: One of my oldest and dearest friends, Valeria, has been battling metastatic breast cancer for several years. She is an absolute warrior but all warriors sometimes need help. I am asking if you can, to please assist her as her medical expenses after years of fighting continue to rise as she also needs financial help getting additional training for her therapy dog Balu, who has been an incredible assistant to her as she deals with side effects of treatments.  Valeria is one of those amazing people you need in life who not only lights up the room, she empowers everyone around her. She's immediately your best friend but also takes no sh** from anyone. Not you, not me, and especially not cancer.  She's the best and I can't even begin to convey how important she has been for me when I've needed someone there for me. Well, now it's time to be there for her.  I know we all have stuff going on, but if there's any way you can assist her, I'd be extremely grateful and will owe you one.  Here's the link to her GoFundMe. Thank you for reading and considering assisting her: https://gofund.me/667e1a417

SLAMMIVERSARY COUNTDOWN SHOW

TNA opened with a spanning shot of the arena and showed quite a few empty seats to start.

They introduced a gentleman named Eric Dunn, who sang the national anthem.

Matt Rehwoldt and Tom Hannifan dedicated the show to the memory of Joe Doering.

They introduced Daria Rae and then discussed the Knockouts title bout before going to a video package on Xia Brookside vs. Lei Ying Lee.

They noted TNA Hall of Famer Traci Brooks would be joining them later.

Gia Miller interviewed several fans about the match.  They all picked Xia Brookside, which I guess proves Boston is a heel town!

Elayna Black vs. Indi Hartwell vs. Mara Sade

The referee is Frank Gastineau.

Indi and Mara try to team on Black early on and knock her from the ring.  So, we're doing the usual formula.  With Black out, the others locked up and battled back and forth.  Sade nailed a Slingblade but Black returned to break it up.  She was very vocal in saying she runs TNA and drilled Indi with a big knee strike.  Black controlled the ring, stomping away at each of her opponents and scoring near falls.  Indi escaped a charge in the corner and nailed a big spinebuster.  Mara broke up the pinfall and hit an inverted facebuster.  She nailed a sit-out powerbomb on Black but Indi broke it up.  Sade sent her opponents to the floor and nailed a pescado.  Black caught Sade with a DDT and scored the pin.

Your winner, Elayna Black!

Traci Brooks came out and announced the promotion would be instituting a Knockouts TV title.  They will kick off a tournament this Thursday.

They pushed the Knockouts Tag Team title bout and then ran a video feature on Elijah vs. AJ Francis.

They discussed the TNA title bouts that will be taking place tonight.  When they began discussing the International title, out came Champion Mustafa Ali and Tasha Steelz.  Daria said that he will indeed have a match tonight.  Santino Marella came out.  He said that while Daria was looking for an opponent, Marella found one.  Since they each found an opponent, there will be a Triple Threat match but Ali won't find out who his opponents are until match time.

Eric Young vs. Ricky Sosa

Sosa looked strong early and hit a top rope dropkick that sent Young to the floor, then followed up with a dive over the ropes.  Sosa covered him for a two count.  Sosa and Young battled on the top with Young nailing a DVDR into the ring below.  He cvered Sosa for a two count.  Sosa came back to nail a series of offensive maneuvers, including a big moonsault from the top for a two count.  Young worked over Sosa but missed a moonsault from the top.  Sosa nailed a sit-out Michinoku Driver for a two count.   Sosa surprised Young with his finisher, The Thunderbang and pinned Young clean.

Your winner, Ricky Sosa!

Good match.  Young's work is always impeccable and he's always in the right place at the right time as a heel.  Sosa fighting to overcome him was fun to watch.  A nice spotlight.

The ring crew is setting up the cables, so The Ultimate X match will open the PPV.

Ace Steel joined the announcers to discuss the TNA Title match tonight.  Steel predicted Nic Nemeth wins tonight.

They closed out the countdown running down the card.

TNA SLAMMIVERSARY 2026

The PPV opened with the roster assembled at the entrance stage as they held a ten bell salute for Joe Doering.

Cody Deaner addressed the audience.  He said if you were Joe Doering's friend, you were his friend for life.  He had the passion to pursue professional wrestling even though it meant time away from his family and friends.  His true strength was his heart.  He got to be his partner in a TNA ring.  Joe refused that his career was over after a brain tumor was removed.  Joe proved to everyone that if you have true strength in your heart, you can do anything you want.  Deaner said a few weeks ago, he sat with his friend to say goodbye in the hospital.  Tonight, they all say thank you Joe.  The crowd chanted, "Thank you Joe."  He said they are going to bring all their passion to the ring and said, "Joe, this is for you."  Very classy segment and a wonderful tribute.  A lot of talents are wearing Joe' name.

The PPV opened with a history package on the company.

The crowd looks to have filled in from earlier.armbands with

Ultimate X: X-Division Champion Cedric Alexander vs. Leon Slater vs. Frankie Kazarian vs. Mr. Elegance vs. KC Navarro vs. Fabian Aichner vs. The Amazing Red

They all battled at the bell,  Leon worked over Cedric on the floor.  KC hit a pescado on everyone.  Aichner then hit a big dive.  The crowd chanted for TNA.  Red and Kazarian battled.  Red hit a dive onto everyone.  Red tried to ascend to the cables but Alexander grabbed him and nailed a Michinoku Driver.  Cedric tried to climb up but Navarro shoved him and he was crotched on the top rope.   Navarro nailed a 619 on Slater.  He started to climb the structure and made his way across the cables but was pulled down by Slater.  They battled to the apron, where Navarro was tossed towards Aichner and hit him with a DDT.

Elegance tackled Slater on the floor outside and tried to climb up the structure.  Aichner sent him into the steel.  A number of competitors climbed up and across the cables.  Alexander was knocked down and he swung, Aichner, who took a back bump from the cables.  Kazarian and Red were pulled down and battled.  This left Elegance alone and he made his way across but was pulled down by KC.  KC nailed an Acid Drop.  He and Red faced off.  He went for a Code Red but Red maneuvered out of it.  Red hit a twisting DDT and a Code Red of his own.  He then nailed one on Kazarian.

Red battled to the top.  Slater met him in the corner and set up for a superplex.  Red turned it into a Code Red.  Alexander snatched Red and slammed him outside on the apron.  He and Kazarian battled.  Kazarian hit a springboard off the ropes to grab the cables.  Aicher leapt and took him out with a springboard crossbody.  Everyone battled in the corner.  Slater hit a double-decker Blockbuster on everyone.   Red and Slater raced across the cables to get to the championship belt.  They each grabbed the belt and held it.  Slater was able to get possession but Alexander snatched it out of his hands, and since has the one standing in the ring, he retains the belt.

Your winner and still X-Division Champion, Cedric Alexander!

Match was entertaining.  The finish should add some heel heat to Alexander.

Kazarian took the mic and told The Amazing Red that real recognizes real.  The fact Red competed in an UltImate X match was amazing.  No one has influenced those working today than Amazing Red.  Kazarian told him that Red has his respect forever and not just him.  He asked everyone to watch the screen.  They announced The Amazing Red, deservingly, as the latest member of the TNA Hall of Fame.  Mike Santana came out on stage for the announcement.  Red hugged Kazarian and the crowd chanted, "You deserve it."  Red stood in the ring for a long time taking in the ovation.  The crowd chanted, "Thank you Red."  Very nice moment.

Red joins ODB as members of the Class of 2026.

Elijah vs. AJ Francis for the rights to Elijah's likeness and music.

Someone named Expressions came out and said he was here to represent AJ Francis, heeling the crowd in the process.

Elijah nailed Francis with a knee at the bell and nailed another as Francis was against the ropes.  Expressions grabbed his leg, allowing Francis to knock Elijah off the apron.   Francis teased a dive then stopped and heeled the crowd.  That allowed Elijah to nail a flying forearm off the ropes.  Elijah went to walk the ropes but Expressions got in the way, allowing Francis to pull Elijah off.  He tried to do a Styles Clash.  Elijah escaped but was elevated and drilled with a big right hand.

Francis went for a powerbomb but Elijah dug deep and nailed an Alabama Slam.  He nailed a forearm in the corner and drilled him with strikes.  He nailed a stunner for a two count.   Francis fought back and placed Elijah on the top.  Elijah walked the ropes and went for a Destroyer but was caught and hit with an Alabama Slam.  Francis nailed a moonsault for a two count.  The battle continued until Elijah nailed a tombstone piledriver, which Francis kicked out of.  Expressions had hit the ring, but Elijah grabbed his guitar and hit the El Kabong.  Francis rolled up Elijah for a two count.  He set up for a Styles Clash and nailed it for a two count.  Elijah nailed the Destroyer off the ropes for the pin.

Your winner, Elijah!

Good match that had the crowd with them the entire time.  Francis has grown into a great heel and performer.  This was well done, but who the hell is Expressions?

Elijah retrieved his guitar as his theme played.  Hokey pro wrestling soap opera in the right way.

Gia Miller interviewed Mike Santana.   He said there's rumors about him but he's going to give his heart and soul like he always has.  He hopes Nic Nemeth knows who he is stepping in the ring with.

TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champions The Elegance Brand with The Conceirge & Ash by Elegance vs. Rosemary & Allie.

Rosemary started with M, controlling her and biting her fingers as she was down on the mat.  Rosemary worked over M on the mat.  Rosemary slammed Allie atop of M. Heather tagged in and faced off with Allie.  The Challengers hung upside down, choking the champs while upside down.  Ash interfered.  M nailed a Driver on Allie for a two count.  Heather cinched in a side chinlock on Allie. Allie fought her way out and tried to tag out but The Concierge pulled Rosemary off the apron.  Heather nailed a DDT off the ropes, then hit a running boot.  M then hit a Coast to Coast on Allie for a two count.  Allie came back to ilfe and fired away.

Allie and M battled and clotheslined each other down.  Rosemary made the hot tag and cleaned house on Heather.   She drilled her to the mat with a sideslam.  Ash tried to intefere.  Rosemary chased her to the floor.  She hid behind the Conceirge and told him to fight Rosemary.  Rosemary spewed green mist in his face.  Allie and Rosemary worked over Heather and scored the pin.

Your winners and new Knockouts Tag Team Champions, Rosemary and Allie!

Santino was approached by Daria Rae.  She wanted to know why he got involved in her deal with Mustafa Ali.  He said to relax, it's a happy accident and now there are two opponents.  She said he was an accident and walked off.

TNA International Champion Mustafa Ali with Tasha Steelz has an Open Challenge.

The first mystery opponent was Rich Swann, who was on stage for the Joe Doering tribute earlier.

The second opponent was the former Apollo Crews, now going by his old ring name of Uhaa Nation.

Nation press and tossed Ali from the ring.  He and Swann went back and forth, reprising their old days in EVOLVE.  It was fun to watch.  The fans were having fun as well, chanting, "OOO...HHAA"  Ali got invoved and everyone battled to the floor.  Nation hit a standing moonsault off the apron to the floor on Ali.  He hit a top rope splash on Swann for a two count.  Ali returned and nailed a Styles Clash off the ropes atop of Uhaa and scored several near falls.

This started to really build into something great with a lot of fun near falls.  The crowd chanted for TNA.  Uhaa nailed a sit-out powerbomb for a two count.  Swann missed a dive off the apron on Uhaa but sent him into the ring steps.  Ali and Swann battled on the outside.  Swann hit a head scissors off the apron to the floor, then drilled Nation to boot.  Nation was tossed into the ring and hit with a 450 splash off the middle rope for a near fall.  This is a lot of fun.

Everyone exchanged big moves.  Ali hit a german suplexed on Swann but Uhaa caught him in mid-air and hit his own German suplex.  Ali broke up the pinfall attempt.  Everyone battled.  Swann hit a tornado DDT on Ali, driving him down onto Nation.  Swann hit a big top rope frog splash on Ali for a two count.  Swann went back to the ropes but Nation caught him with a leaping kick.   Nation nailed a delayed vertical superplex.  He grabbed Ali but Tasha got up on the apron.  Special Agent Zero walked out and Ali used that distraction to attack Uhaa.

Zero sent Uhaa into the ring steps right in front of the referee, which looked silly.  He trapped Nation in between the two sections of the steps.  Ali and Swann battled back and forth in the ring.  Swann went for a handspring elbow but was caught with a backslide in mid-air and pinned.

Your winner and still International Champion, Mustafa Ali!

Everyone looked strong and all the sequences pretty much hit as they were meant to.  Fun stuff!

Backstage, Moose welcomed Uhaa Nation to TNA before heading to the ring for his bout.

Moose with JDC vs. Eddie Edwards with Alisha Edwards - No Surrender Match.

The only way this can end is if the corner person throws in the towel for their charge.

Edwards dove out of the ring on Moose as he came around the ring.  Moose caught him and powerbombed him on the apron.  They battled on the floor, where Edwards backdropped Moose on the ring steps.  Alisha Edwards got in the face of Moose's family.  Moose pulled a table from underneath but Edwards dropkicked the table into Moose, then slammed it on Moose's foot.  Edwards ran Moose into the ring post.

Back in the ring, Edwards worked over Moose with hard chops.  Moose responded in kind.  They clobbered the hell out of each other with kicks, headbutts and strikes.  Moose was clothesined down and hit with the Boston Knee Party.   Edwards pulled out a steel chain from under the ring and drilled Moose.  He tied it around his knee and went for the Boston Knee Party but Moose caught and powerbombed him.  Moose pulled the table up and set in the corner but Edwards attacked him with the chain.

Edwards ziptied Moose's arm to the ring ropes and did the same to his other arm.  Edwards grabbed a Singapore Cane and began wailing away on Moose.  They kept showing Moose's wife and son, so you know they are getting involved.  JDC spit gum at Edwards when he told him to quit for Moose.  Moose's wife hopped the railing and tried to throw in the towel but JDC stopped it.  Edwards grabbed Moose's wife and sent her to the floor, then attacked JDC.  Moose's son hopped the rain to check on her.  Edwards dragged Moose's son into the ring but the kid lowblowed Eddie to a MASSIVE pop.  Moose's wife slapped Alisha.

Moose snapped the zipties open and speared Eddie.  He speared Eddie again.  JDC tossed Moose the chain.  Moose wrapped it around himself and speared Eddie, who was spitting blood from his mouth.  Alisha had enough and tossed in the towel.  JDC drilled Eddie and Moose speared Alisha through the table to a big pop.

Your winner, Moose!

This was a hell of a brawl with lots of twists and turns.  I don't think Moose ever looked stronger as a babyface.

They showed Nic Nemeth prepping for the main event backstage.

TNA Knockouts Champion Lei Ying Lee vs. Xia Brookside.

They argued and went nose to nose before Lee took Brookside down and worked her over on te mat.   Lee took her down to the mat and nailed several dropkicks.  They battled to the floor, where Lee smashed her face into the apron.  Lee returned to the ring to break the count and then returned to the floor to continue the beating.   Lee missed a move and drilled her own leg into the ring post.  Brookside attacked the back of the knee, hurting the champ.

Brookside worked over the knee for a long time, tying it around the ropes and setting up for a dropkick to the knee.   Lee fought through the beating and came back to snatch Xia in a single-leg Boston Crab.  Xia escaped but was caught with a kick to the head.  Lee's other leg faltered.  They battled back and forth but every time Lee nailed a big kick her leg was hurting.  Lee worked her over with punches in the corner.  Lee nailed a suplex and covered her for a two count.

Lee went for the Warrior's Way but her knee started to give.  Brookside slipped behind her and attacked the leg.  Xia placed her on the top and they battled.  Lee went for a superplex but Brookside battled and blocked it.  Lee slipped under her and powerbombed Xia, who ripped off the buckle cover as she was pulled away.  Lee went to the top but Brookside took her legs out and Lee hit face-first on the exposed buckle.  Xia hit the Dark Side DDT (shout out to The Midnight Express!) and scored the pin.

Your winner and new TNA Knockouts Champion Xia Brookside!

They announced Destination X for 11/15 in Edmonton, Alberta.

Ladder Match: TNA Tag Team Champions Bear Bronson & Brian Myers vs. The Hardy Boyz vs. The Righteous vs. The Great Hands.
