At least the PLE was in the afternoon, so I didn’t have to wait all day to be underwhelmed.
I thought it was a solid show. It wasn’t show of the year, but I wasn’t underwhelmed either.
1. Oba wins KOTR; well, no Brock to screw over Oba, so where do they go with this in your opinion?
It makes no sense to have Oba call out Brock the way he did for him to not show up. I would not be surprised to see Brock attack Oba and then Femi wrestlers twice at SummerSlam.
2. Iyo Sky wins QOTR; I’m guessing since she picked Liv right away that perhaps Rhea is still a question mark as to her injury status, so why do a tease for a match that isn’t going to happen? ( for the record, I didn’t want her to challenge Rhea ).
I don’t think that they did to a tease. I think that they did the opposite by having Iyo choose right away. They took the drama out of the scenario.
3. The overall event just seemed to be in the middle, there was little sense of urgency or major drama to any of the matches. Trick/Saints was underwhelming, more of a TV or house show match. How did you feel about the show as a whole?
As I said above, I thought it was solid. I think it was hurt in the middle by the crowd. Maybe they were underwhelmed but they weren’t overly hot for matches 3-5.
4. Cage match; Well, is Rollins really free to move on now? I don’t see a point in Breakker attacking him again to extend the feud. He was beaten cleanly, which is a result I didn’t expect. Depending on the timetable for Bronson Reed to come back, is there a point to the Vision as a faction anymore?
I had six people send in a version of this questions. I am with all of you, The Vision are losers. They lost the tag belts. They lost the feud to Rollins, which Breakker HAD to win to cement the group’s status. Instead? They are portrayed as losers. I don’t know what they have planned going forward. Maybe they will blame it all on Paul Heyman’s absence but even if they do, it doesn’t say much for the group when they can’t win on their own. I hated the decision to have Seth win.
5. Sami Zayn finally wins the big one. If this event was anywhere but Saudi, do you think they would have done the switch? Do you think Sami even makes it to SummerSlam as champ ?
I think being in Saudi Arabia was a huge reason for the change. They wanted the moment and they got it. They can make sense for him having the Title at SummerSlam……or he could lose it this week. His post match promo didn’t give me the “I will be champion for a long time” vibe. We shall see.
