Welcome to PWInsider.com's ongoing TNA Thursday Night Impact coverage.
This would be the final episode before Tommy Dreamer left the creative team and the final episode before Sunday's Slammiversary PPV.
After a recap of everything that went down previously, Matthew Rehwoldt and Tom Hannifan welcomed everyone to the broadcast.
The Broken Hardy Boyz made their way to the ring. Matt said they have been reborn after stepping into the Wicked Garden. It changed them, smashed their souls and poisoned them. It was truly one of a kind but they needed The Righteous to change then and force them to ascend. Broken Matt Version 1 and Brother Nero Version 1 have been forced to fade away and classify themselves as obsolete. At Slammiversary, Jeff Hardy will never be the same. They have been Rebroken by Fate. They will step into the Ladder Match and win back their TNA Tag Team titles. The Righteous made their way out. They said The Wicked Garden showed the workd every version of The Hardys, but asked Matt if there's more. Matt agreed. Dutch took credit for this. Matt said that he doesn't realize what he opened up inside of the Hardys. TNA Tag Team Champions Brian Myers and Bear Bronson made their way out. Bear said all they are all guys who want to take food off their plate. He dared them to put a ladder in their hands and try. Matt declared they will win and reclam their tag titles. The Hardys went after The Champs. Jeff pulled out a ladder and shoved it into the ring. The Righteous attacked Matt. Everyone brawled. Jeff set up a ladder in the ring and climbed to the top to dive off. That spooked everyone to back off as The Hardys stood tall in the ring.
Backstage, TNA International Champion Mustafa Ali was told by Daria Rae that she was working on his match at Slammiversary. She told The Great Hands they have been officially added to the Ladder Match at the PPV for being model employees.
Indi Hartwell joined the announcers
Ash by Elegance vs. Mara Sade
The crowd chanted at Ash, so she was upset and had to be calmed by her Concierge. She took the mic and declared she was not a mark. She said she needs a mental health break right now and demanded M by Elegance replace her in the match. She threw a temper tantrum in the ring, then walked out. M went to attack Sade, who ducked and began working her over. Elayna Black's music hit and she walked out on the stage. M missed a kick and was drilled with a series of right hands. Sade teased a pescado to the floor but Heather pulled M away. Sade nailed a series of chops and tossed her back into the ring. She xhased M around the ring and nailed her with a dropkick off the ring steps. Heather distracted Sade, allowing M to attack Sade on the ropes and slam her into the ring for a two count. Elayna came down to ringside. Heather tried to interefere by Hartwell nailed her Elayna attacked Hartwell. Sade nailed a DDT and went to the top for a moonsault but Black attacked her.
Your winner by DQ, Mara Sade!
Everyone brawled. Rosemary and Allie ran in to make the save. They took out the Knockouts Tag Team Champions. The babyfaces controlled the ring.
They aired a vignette where Eric Young promised to take out Ricky Sosa.
AJ Francis vs. Manny Lemons
Francis controlled Lemons despite being attacked from behind. Francis hit a DVDR with authority. Francis nailed a running boot to the head in the corner. He continued to beat Lemons. He walked the ropes to mick Elijah doing it and drilled Lemons with a big chop to thje head. Lemons made a comeback and hit several clotheslines in the corner but was cut off and nailed with The TFL spear. Francis nailed a chokeslam and scored the pin.
Your winner, AJ Francis!
Elijah appeared on the screen. He said that if Francis wants to take everything from him, no amount of faking it will convince anyone you are anything but a clout chasing fake. He's jealous he can never be Elijah. At Slammiversary, he is going to take back everything Francis has taken from him and then some. He burned the cease and desist that had been given to him.
Xia Brookside vs. Harley Hudson
Hudson has a great look. She was attacked before the bell and savaged. Hudson regained control with a powerful scoop slam, driving Brookside face-first into the canvas before stopping to do push-ups on top of her to add insult to injury. Brookside answered with a kick that sent Hudson reeling, then followed up by stomping her into the corner. She drove a series of shoulder thrusts into Hudson's midsection before using a drop toe hold to send her draped across the ropes. Brookside went for the cover, but Hudson kicked out. Maintaining the pressure, Brookside trapped Hudson's arms and pulled back into a surfboard-style stretch, but Hudson managed to escape. Back on their feet, the two exchanged strikes until Hudson broke the stalemate with a pump kick, then crushed Brookside with a hip attack in the corner. Hudson followed with a fallaway slam and scored a near fall, but Brookside kicked out at two. Hudson then connected with a discus punch, but came up empty on a top-rope leg drop attempt. Brookside capitalized immediately, planting Hudson with the Darkside DDT before scoring the pin.
Your winner, Xia Brookside!
TNA Knockouts Champion Lei Ying Lee came to the ring but Brookside backed off ahead of their bout Sunday.
The TNA Injury Report. Ash by Elegance is considered out of action. The TNA Medica Staff has been rushed to the Nic Nemeth-Mike Santana TNA title summit and are preparing for the more dangerous bouts at the PPV.
We went to the TNA Summit from "earlier today." at a hotel business center. Carlos Silva opened the proceedings by reminding everyone to remain professional because he didn't want to issue any fines. Nic Nemeth spoke first, saying it was nice that Mike Santana had put together a great year, but he'd been having great years for the past 23. Santana laughed off the remark, telling Nemeth that if he thought this was just a "good year," he had another thing coming. Santana then reflected on the hardships he'd endured throughout his life, including abuse his family endured and having to identify his father's body, emphasizing everything he fought to overcome to reach this point. Santana admitted Nemeth was right about one thing: Nemeth accomplished nearly everything in the business, but he's never stepped into the ring with someone like Mike. Santana added that he'd remained loyal to TNA through both its highs and lows, making the company his top priority no matter the circumstances. When TNA needed someone and a true champion, Santana was there. Nemeth was off doing other things. Nemeth said he was here for TNA and everyone thought he was going to be that guy, but that was bullsh**. Mike's been that guy while Nemeth went off to do dumbass tours in Australia and everything else. Nemeth fired back, claiming there was a world of difference between being an international superstar and simply having a good year. He then made the confrontation personal, bringing up Santana's daughter before saying he was glad Santana's late father wasn't alive to watch him fail. Santana immediately stood up, looked at Silva, and asked, "Cash or check?" before punching Nemeth in the face. Ryan Nemeth suddenly rushed into the room. Santana grabbed him, but that allowed Nic to attack him. Nic smashed Santana's face into the TNA Championship belt, called Mike a b***c and the Nemeth brothers walked off.
Moose made his entrance with Johnny Dango Curtis and announced that his match with Eddie Edwards at Slammiversary would be contested under No Surrender rules. The bout can only end when someone from a competitor's corner throws in the towel. Hey, the old Terminator gimmick from Halloween Havoc '89! Alicia Edwards will be in Eddie's corner, while JDC will back Moose. Moose took the microphone and promised that at Slammiversary, "payback's a bitch... just like your wife." The insult brought Eddie and Alicia Edwards to the ring. Eddie responded by saying that after everything he and Moose had been through together, he realized Moose and JDC had become a cancer holding him back from reaching his full potential. Edwards said that was why The System cast them out and that the group was better off without them. He vowed that their rivalry would finally come to an end at Slammiversary. JDC said Eddie has gotten sick in the head and its going to cost him everything including his daughter. Alicia took the microphone next and fired back at JDC, telling him if he wants to bring family into this, bring his wife to the ring so she could slap her. She added that The System was better off without Moose and JDC before calling Moose a fool. Alicia then challenged Moose directly, offering him one free shot at her if he wanted revenge. Moose initially backed away from the challenge, prompting Alicia to label him a coward. Moose charged back toward the ring, but JDC stepped in and stopped him from spearing Alicia. Grabbing another microphone, Moose closed the confrontation by warning that Slammiversary would be Eddie and Alicia's funeral.
JDC saying he understood why Eddie did what he did makes me wonder if that was a tease for a turn.
X-Division Champion Cedric Alexander & Mr. Elegance & Frankie Kazarian vs. Fabian Aichner & Leon Slater & KC Navarro
Slater and Kazarian started the match, but Slater immediately took a shot at Cedric Alexander, knocking him off the apron with a kick to the face. Fabian Aichner soon tagged in, only for Kazarian to rake his eyes before bringing in Mr. Elegance. Aichner quickly overpowered Elegance, battering him from corner to corner and lighting up his chest with a series of hard chops. KC Navarro entered next and connected with a crossbody, but Elegance tagged Alexander into the match. Alexander answered with a stiff chop that sent Navarro to the ropes, though Navarro rebounded with a dropkick. Kazarian returned to the ring, only to eat a kick from Navarro, who also avoided an incoming attack from Alexander.
The match erupted into chaos as all six men brawled around ringside. A series of suicide dives wiped out most of the competitors, leaving Aichner, Navarro, and Slater standing tall. Back inside the ring, Alexander regained control by folding Navarro up with a gutwrench suplex before tagging in Elegance, who targeted Navarro's hands with repeated stomps. Navarro mounted a brief comeback, but Mr. Elegance's concierge tried to grab his ankle from ringside. Navarro stomped on the concierge's hand, infuriating Elegance, who dragged him into the opposing corner for a prolonged triple-team attack. Kazarian followed up with a springboard leg drop after pulling Navarro back to the center of the ring. He reached for a tag, but Elegance was busy posing, allowing Alexander to tag himself in instead.
Navarro finally escaped and tagged in Slater, who exploded into the match with a flurry of kicks and punches. He dropped Alexander with a spinning heel kick just before the show headed to commercial. After the break, Kazarian cut Slater off by sweeping out his legs and driving him onto the ring apron. Slater was rolled back inside, where Alexander continued wearing him down with another series of suplexes. During the match, it was announced they would provide an update on Mike Santana's condition following the attack earlier in the night.
Alexander, Kazarian, and Elegance isolated Slater in their corner and repeatedly cut off his attempts to escape. Slater finally avoided an attack with a crossbody onto Kazarian before crawling across the ring to tag in Aichner. Aichner entered with authority, running through both Kazarian and Alexander while countering Kazarian's Blockbuster attempt. He tried to set Kazarian up for a Doomsday Device with Navarro, but Elegance broke it up. Kazarian and Elegance then teamed up on Navarro, with Kazarian planting him with a backstabber for a near fall. The closing stretch turned into an all-out sprint as all six men traded finishers and near falls in rapid succession. Slater eventually connected with a spectacular Swanton 450 Splash on Mr. Elegance, but as he bounced off the impact, Kazarian capitalized by rolling him up for the pinfall.
Your winners, Frankie Kazarian & Cedric Alexander & Mr. Elegance.
Nic Nemeth came to the ring to provide "an update on Mike Santana's condition", claiming he didn't believe Santana would be medically cleared to compete at Slammiversary. Nemeth said he should simply be crowned TNA Champion and called for TNA President Carlos Silva to join him. Instead, Ryan Nemeth was suddenly hurled out the entranceway. A bloodied Mike Santana stormed onto the stage, tossed Ryan aside, and charged toward Nic. Security and officials got in between everyone as Santana stood in the ring to close the show.
