What are your thoughts on fans attacking Sol Ruca to the point she had to make her Twitter private?
Sadly, not anything out of line for Twitter but as is very much often the case, it's a result of fans reacting to things in a knee-jerk fashion without knowing any actual facts.
After there was some sort of miscue between Liv Morgan and Ruca on a WWE live event in the UK, footage of that popped up online and since Morgan sold her leg in the aftermath (as she should have), there were fans who believed Morgan was injured and Ruca was to blame, so they went on the attack because, well, they assumed, which is almost always the cause of every dumb error. They went off on Sol, who locked her account. When Morgan appeared on Raw, fine and OK, suddenly, all the hate went silent, because it was all wasted energy to begin with, because just like when people claimed Saudi Arabia had purchased WWE, it was all a house of cards that people assumed was true but had no bearing in fact - and just like that situation, no one bothered to acknowledge they were wrong to begin with.
I've also seen some have tried to quantiy their comments with a "but it was a botched spot" excuse. To that, I say, so what? Mistakes happen when you perform an athletic endeavor especially in pro wrestling which is "one and done" when attempting sequences and spots before a live audience. These things have a level of difficulty. No one wants to see anyone make a mistake or worse, hurt themselves or others - but mistakes are not made to be malicious in intent, they are made due to human error or a factor like the ropes were slippery or some other variable no one expected in that very second they executed the move. The problem was not and should not be the mistake, the problem is vilifying someone for having the unfortunate luck or timing to make a mistake - and while doing it, assuming Morgan, one of the best right now, *had* to be hurt. If anyone out there thinks Ruca (or any pro wrestler in WWE today) was out to hurt herself or anyone else, please tune into Reality FM.
Why is this new promotion called PRODUCE? Are they are giving the audience lettuce to throw at the wrestlers?
No, it's a takeoff of when Japanese talents have their own shows under a promotion's banner, they are pretty much called the equivalent of a produced show by that talent. It's just a play on words.
Do you think MyAEW will ever get PWG or CHIKARA? Given how important they were to the creation of AEW, it fits.
Those libraries are out there, but if Tony Khan wanted to acquire them for that platform, I would assume the rights owners would be willing to talk business. I liked CHIKARA, but I don't think it was anywhere near as important to th creation of AEW as you might think. PWG, I can see that connection.
Were you surprised as I was that GIULIA speaks English so well?
GIULIA speaks several languages, so no I was not. She's half Italian and speaks that as well.
Whatever happened to Jeff Jarrett chasing the AEW title?
Someone decided to drop the storyline. I thought MJF vs. Jarrett would have been a fun match. Now, do I know it would have drawn a ton of money? No, but bell to bell, I know it would be entertaining. So, a shame it didn't happen.
Why doesn't TNA do the fan gathering conventions like they used to before their big PPVs?
They sell meet and greets instead and honestly, the company isn't working on the budget it used to have.
