The film stars the WWE Hall of Famer as John Nada, a homeless construction worker who stumbles upon the truth that aliens have taken over and enslaved mankind. Directed by John Carpenter and co-starring Keith David and Meg Foster, They Live opened at the top of the box office when it was released in November 1988, garnering $13,008,928 domestically over its four week run. That would be the equivalent of $33,551,487.85 in 2023. The fight scene between Piper and Keith David is often celebrated as one of the best movie fight sequences of all time. Keith David was enshrined with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame earlier this year with Carpenter as one of the presenters.
If haven't seen the film, it's worth seeing and Mahoning itself is a truly special place worth making the trek to.
