MAX CASTER, LOVE DOUG AND MORE: 6/8 WRESTLING OPEN RHODE ISLAND LIVE REPORT

By Adam Cardoza on 2026-06-11 11:18:00

Wrestling Open RI

6/8/26 Cranston, RI

Spotlight Match: Cash McGuiness vs Love Doug

Fun little contest. Cash doesn’t like getting smooched by Cupid Douglas. He doesn’t like the flower petals. And he really doesn’t like the rebound lariat that puts him to sleep for the three. Wheatman was on commentary to see his partner get loved on.

Max Caster starts us off, calling Cranston his new home and highlighting how much Bobby Orlando was embarrassed by Andrade El Idolo on Friday. He brings out Orlando but cuts the music because that tune is CASTER’S. Max say the contract Bobby signed gives him the right to take the song away and replace it with anything he wants. Max chooses silence, this promo is COLD. He wants the crowd to do the “Shame!” Thing from GoT but it’s all “Go Bobby go Bobby”. And that’s when DJ Powers attacks. Ah, THIS is the match!

Match 1: Bobby Orlando vs DJ Powers

DJ swarms Bobby and despite a brief rally, pummels Orlando through most of this match. Caster joins commentary with Paul Crockett. Bobby finally rallies back and hits a powerslam to put Powers away. Caster grabs the mic to try and shame Bobby I’m more, despite being victorious. Next week, Caster makes it worse. Somehow.

Cut to last week when Sammy Diaz exposed Mark Sterling for faking alllll of his injuries. The Verdict may have gotten the win on Friday but it sure seems like this fight is far from over.

Match 2: RJ Rude vs Sammy Diaz

This is a good little contest. Rude gets plenty of time to shine but Sammy hits a poisonrana and a Frogsplash for the win. After the match, Sammy confirms that he’s not done with the Verdict. In two weeks, Ichiban and Sammy vs The Verdict!

Nick Battee is back! And he’s sick of the crowd’s disrespect so he makes us say the “Pledge of Batteegence”. We hate it. Thank god someone else is back after being gone for a bit!

Match 3: Nick Battee vs Jermaine Marbury (w/ Benny the Basketball)

Marbury says Battee sounds stupid and proceeds to dribble his head into the mat. Battee with a reversal into some kind of poor man’s rock bottom. He tries to put a sleeper on but Marbury fights back. Juke and a cutter! High cross body for two! Marbury tries to bow on it but Nick rolls him up and gets some trunks for the leverage and the three. Booooooo!

Backstage with BRG, he says Dutch go lucky last week in the rumble but on June 22, Oxx is gonna destroy Dutch.

Match 4: Kylon King vs Corey Duke

Let’s hope Kylon doesn’t take the cheap way out this week. Duke charges the ring and we get right into the fight. Duke beats him so hard that Kylon’s entrance shorts fall off and trip him up. Kylon starts to turn the tables and beat on Corey. They battle to the floor and they just brawl in the crowd until they both get counted out. They battle to the stage, Corey almost hits a piledriver but King low blows him. King grabs a chair, Corey gets it away from him and Kylon runnnnnnnnnnnns. Duke on the mic. Kylon is a COWARD. He can’t beat Duke without a chair. So in two weeks? They dance again and CHAIRS ARE LEGAL!!!

Match 5: Dustin Waller vs Marcus Mathers

Lot of promos tonight. Waller wants mic time and cuts off Mathers’ music. Dustin is furious that Bear Bronson stole the moment from him. He calls himself the uncrowned Open champion and will be treating Marcus with the venom he has saved up for Bear Bronson. The match is precisely the good s*** you’d expect from these two. We hit the one minute remaining mark and Mathers kicks into overdrive…Waller backs off, tries to talk smack, throws ref Gina out of the way and rolls up Marcus for the three. Mathers is furious that Gina let this happen…but maybe he’s more mad that Dustin was proven right…Marcus couldn’t get it done when it matters.

Main Event: Brian Morris & Bobby Casale vs  Bear Bronson & Anthony Vecchio

So Reminder: Bobby Casale won the rumble last week and because the number one contender for the Wrestling Open champion. And with all the drama with Casale and Morris…it doesn’t feel right calling them the Stetson Ranch. But if Bobby is going up against Bear in the near future…this makes sense still kinda. Morris doesn’t trust Casale and decides to start things off…and runs right into Bear. Morris gets destroyed and runs to force the surprise tag to a reluctant Bobby. Bear lets Vecchio get in there and these two beat the s*** out of each other. Morris can’t help but be underfoot, prompting a warning from

Casale. Vecchio gets caught in the “ranch” corner but even Casale doesn’t love it. Vecchio makes the tag just as Casale gets a tag forced on him…which seems like a bad strategy. Bear on fire. Black hole slam, elbow drop, chokebomb all connect - Casale makes the save, he doesn’t want a L after all. Casale asks Bear to throw the corpse of Morris to him for the tag. Casale wants this fight and Bronson obliges. They go toe to toe with forearms! Casale unloads kick after kick into the champs chest! He dodges the discus lariat and tries to put Bear to sleep! He almost has it but Morris does a blind tag and ref Scott has to break it up. Morris gets in Bobby’s face but gets slapped for it. Vecchio gets into it. Morris throws Bear out, butterfly facebuster to Vecchio gets the three before Bear can make the save.

Bobby got the win but he gets face to face with Bear and reminds him how close he was to being out cold. Bronson can’t deny it. Well well well. We have a THREAT.
