AEW Dynamite Summer Blockbuster is live from The Andrew J. Brady Music Center in Cincinnati, OH. Our commentary team is Excalibur, Taz, and Tony Schiavone.
Tony is in the ring for the start of the show, and he calls Tommaso Ciampa to the ring. Ciampa tells Tony he is to tell everyone that Tommaso Ciampa is better than Chris Jericho. And when Tony starts to say no, Ciampa forces him to the corner and orders him to say it, or Ciampa will break his back. As Tony starts to oblige him, Jericho’s music hits.
Jericho comes to the ring and Ciampa calls for the music to be cut. Ciampa asks what Jericho has to say for himself. Jericho asks who he needs to talk to to fight someone with hair. Jericho then introduces himself because they got off on the wrong foot. Ciampa says he is the guy who left Jericho laying. Jericho calls him Tommy, and Ciampa objects. Jericho then makes snide comments about his name, and Ciampa says no one calls him Jericho.
Jericho then asks why Ciampa hates him so much. Ciampa says that it’s all a joke to Jericho. Jericho says he doesn’t think it’s a joke, and Ciampa’s mad because he’s not Jericho, and once Jericho returned, Ciampa wasn’t a big deal anymore. He then tells Ciampa to pull the stick out of his ass or he will shove it up there further.
They throw hands and security shows up for a pull-apart brawl up the ramp and to the back.
Backstage, we see Renee Paquette try for an interview with Kevin Knight, and Don Callis tells her she isn’t interviewing correctly.
