GABLE’S TURN, EARLY RAWS, DRAWING CLEAR LINES FOR THE VIEWER AND MORE

Ah, the last afternoon RAW for a while.  I'll miss that.....

I will too.  I love the early start times.

1. Chad Gable making amends;  I love it.  It's so simple;  he apologizes and even runs out for a save later on to show it wasn't just empty words.  It's clear, concise storytelling that gives the fans a reason to cheer, not leave them guessing ( looking at you, Bloodline ).  Gable got a huge pop for his run in.  Why can't we get this more often when it comes to face turns, specifically?

It’s interesting that pretty much all of what led to the turn was booked in AAA, not WWE.  They handed HHH an easy to tell story and the story was told perfectly.  Plus, Gable has been great in making amends.  As soon as he lost the mask and made the speech afterward, I knew they had to turn him face.  Him making the save at the end of the match and giving Rey his mask back was perfect.  If they play this correctly, Gable could really explode as a top face.  There are Cody Rhodes elements to his story, for sure.

2.  Main Event:  great match, J'Von Evans continues his ascent.  As you predicted, Bron Breakker did not let his loss last week go unanswered.  My only issue was Saints taking yet another loss.  He's still on the rise, got a win on Friday but takes a step back and loses on the other brand's show.  With the interference Seth was the guy to take the fall in my eyes.  J'Von could have reluctantly taken the pin after the spear and any issues of it not being a babyface move could have been explained away by the announce team in 20 seconds.  Thoughts?

I get what you are saying but I think it’s early enough in Saints’ run that he can take the loss here.  It can’t continue forever but I am OK with it now.  I think Evans needed a clean win to move on with momentum behind him.

3.  LA Knight was dropping truth bombs yet again. I expected someone to confront him, cue Jey Uso.  I know he's trying to be intense, stay out of our business, etc., but he comes across like a caricature to me.  Every time he's on a mic in front of a crowd lately, he's already at 10 on the angry scale.  You can't dial it up from there.  It's just this constant stream of being pissed at everyone.  Easy to dislike, for me. It's just more Bloodline douchey behaviour.

I agree.  Knight is telling the truth and Jey has regressed to the angry guy he was before he took on Roman and became his own man.  As a character he has really regressed.

Do you feel that we're going to get some form of Knight, The Profits and Rollins against the Bloodline?  An 8-man, or 6-man if Roman isn't going to be around all the time?

Maybe at some point but the faces there still have unfinished business with The Vision.  I think that needs to be addressed first.

4.  Dom's interaction will Oba Femi was great.  And I loved it because it was clean and simple.  Runs his mouth, we get a little taste of an ass kicking and he slithers away.  And I think the fans respond accordingly, to.  We have a clearly defined babyface and clearly defined heel.  I know HHH likes his shades of grey, but do you think that type of booking should be the exception as opposed to the norm?

When Triple H was at the height of his booking powers, we got clear face/heel structure.  I am OK with a little grey, but not to the extent he has it now. The product was hotter when people knew who was who.

5.  Seems to me we're heading for Raquel/Morgan in the QOTR finals?

I hope so.  They have been teasing it for a while now and Raquel can only take Liv’s snide shots for so long.
