'Actor Keith David, who co-starred in Roddy Piper's They Live among many other film and television accomplishments, received a star on The Hollywood Walk of Fame yesterday. They Live director John Carpenter was among those who spoke at David's unveiling ceremony.
David and Piper had one of the most celebrated fight scenes in film history in They Live, which starred the WWE Hall of Famer as John Nada, a homeless construction worker who stumbles upon the truth that aliens have taken over and enslaved mankind. David plays a costruction worker who befriends Nada and gets pulled into the truth against his will. They Live opened at the top of the box office when it was released in November 1988, garnering $13,008,928 domestically over its four week run. That would be the equivalent of $33,551,487.85 in 2023. If you haven't seen the film, it's worth seeing.
