5/31 WWE CLASH IN ITALY REPORT: TRIBAL COMBAT, 4 TITLE MATCHES, HOW WAS THE ITALIAN CROWD?, BROCK AND OBA, AND MORE

Your host is Joe Tessitore.  He is joined by Corey Graves, Big E, and Peter Rosenberg.

Cathy talks about Oba Femi and his match against Brock Lesnar.

Byron talks about Cody Rhodes and Gunther.

The panel discusses the match between Cody Rhodes and Gunther.

Joe Tessitore talked to Cody.

He asks about the attack after his match at Wrestlemania.

Cody says everything you needed to know about him happened after.  He got up and he walked.  He tried to make eye contact with as many people to show that he was still the champ, that he was still here, and if that was Randy's best shot, what does that say.  Cody says he is very lucky and he does not know how much luck he has left.

Joe asks about spending time with his family.

Cody says there is no healing like healing with your family.  Cody says his father talked about walking around the house busted up and to have a young child ask what happened or if he is okay.

Joe asks about Cody making a quick return.

Cody says it was very important and he has to be consistent.  Cody says people joke about him doing the Cena schedule, but what else are you going to follow?  He needs the challenges.

Cody mentions it has been ten years since he left WWE and it has been a gift to make the right decisions, so the right thing, but also to make mistakes.  That is his life.  

Sol Ruca joins the panel.

Becky Lynch talked to Corey Graves.

He asks about her victory at Wrestlemania.  

Becky says it was an incredible evening.  She says she never lost the title because of biased referees.  

Corey asks about Sol Ruca confronting her at the Raw after Wrestlemania.

Becky says Sol is a troublemaker.  She has a contract signing ceremony and it was during her celebration.  She went out there to talk to Adam Pearce and Sol confronts her.  She says Sol attacked her for no reason.

Corey asks about the match at Saturday Night's Main Event.

Becky says she had Sol dead to rights and she tried to pull the referee out of the way and she gets disqualified?  Becky says she saved Jessika Carr even though she doesn't like her.

Corey asks about the challenge facing Sol against her.

Becky says Sol is not ready.  She has bitten off more than she can chew.  She will run home to America while Becky celebrates with her famiily in Europe.

Sol says she is honored to be here when asked about the crowd reaction.

Joe asks how Sol reacts when Becky says she is not ready.

Sol says Becky does not know what she has gone through or how she trained.  She is here to prove her wrong.

Big E asks about her health and Sol says she was medically cleared this morning.

Corey asks if that will be an issue.

Sol says it is crazy to think she has been doing this for four years and she has faced some legends like Liv Morgan, Iyo Sky, and Becky Lynch.  She says she belongs here.

Sol says Becky is willing to do whatever it takes to get the victory.  Sol says she is used to the deep and changing waters with her surfing background.  She says she will do whatever it takes to win the title.

Jacob Fatu says he is here and he says there are no rules or excuses.  There is no way that Roman is walking out of this show with the title.  Fatu says he is the gladiator that will take down the Roman empire.

Michael Cole talks about Tribal Combat.

Byron talks about Roman Reigns and Tribal Combat.

They talk about the Mask vs Mask match last night at AAA,

Liv Morgan joins the panel.

We see what Brock said in his pre-taped comments from Monday night.

Paul Heyman interrupts Cathy Kelley talking about Oba's win at Wrestlemania.

Paul says Cathy wanted to talk about there is no denying what Oba did to Brock at Wrestlemania.  He beat him so bad that Brock retired.  Brock cannot live with that so he is going to do something about it.  Wrestlemania was Oba's night, but that is just one night.  Brock has been dominant for 25 years.  Tonight will be Brock Lesnar's night.  We will see how Oba recovers from a beating at the hands of Brock.

The crowd serenades Liv while the panel talks about Brock and Oba.

We see Rhea talking on Stephanie McMahon's podcast about her grandmother and her influence on her life.

Liv talks about the people at Jade and Rhea's side and then Liv mentions she beat both of them.

Cathy talks about Oba Femi.

Byron talks about Gunther.

Wade Barrett talked to Gunther.

Wade brings up Gunther's run or retiring wrestlers and being called the Career Killer.

He says he appreciates the title.

Wade brings up how people complain about Gunther gloating over those wins.

Gunther says the fans feel they are their heroes, but they aren't heroes to him.  It is a great feeling to do that.

Wade brings up Gunther's move to Smackdown and his title match.  He asks about the mind games.

Gunther says he doesn't like how Cody does it.  He says Cody has beaten him a few times and he says there is a score to settle.

Wade asks if there is any doubt.

Gunther says he does not waste his time with doubt.  

Wade asks if being in Europe is an advantage.

Gunther says he is a better wrestler.  It will be different in Europe, but he does not care if the people cheer him or boo him.  If the people support him over Cody, Cody cannot handle it.

Michael Cole and Corey Graves are at ringside and they talk about the opening match of the night.

We take a look at Jade Cargill and Rhea Ripley.

Je'Von Evans joins Big E and Joe to talk about the match.

Evans says he is having a great time in Italy and he is going to come back.

We go to more with Joe and Cody.

Joe asks about Gunther.

Cody asks if beating John Cena makes him dangerous?  He got Cena at the end of his career.  He beat AJ at the end of his career.  He is not going to fear Gunther for ending the careers of wrestlers whose times are coming to an end.  He says he will fear Gunther if he is at his best.  He says he has Gunther's number.  He says he won't be on Gunther's list of careers he killed.  Cody says this is the first prize fight Gunther has had in a long time.  

Joe asks about Cody's strategy.

He says you need to avoid the chop and keep him moving.  The longer the match goes, the less he has in the tank.

Cody says Gunther has the most intimidating look in his eyes.  He says Gunther thinks that he is getting tired.  Cody says that motivates him because he is not done yet.  He says he needs to beat Gunther more than Gunther needs to beat him.

We have a video package for Bruno Sammartino.

Cathy is with Paul Levesque.  

She asks about the state of WWE.

Paul says WWE is firing on all cylinders.  He says this is a Wrestlemania worthy show.  

Cathy asks which match could change the landscape the most.

Paul says Jacob Fatu winning Tribal Combat could mean the most.  Gunther beating Cody could be another big shift.

We look at Brock Lesnar and Oba Femi.

The King and Queen of the Ring tournament brackets will be revealed on the post game show.

Cathy talks about Gunther.

Byron talks about the likely crowd reaction for the opening match.

Match Number One:  Men’s WWE Championship Match: Cody Rhodes versus Gunther

They lock up and Cody with a wrist lock.  They go around the ring and Cody with a clean break and a Stardust cartwheel.  They go for a Greco Roman Knuckle Lock and Gunther gets Cody to his knees.  Cody gets back to his feet and Gunther backs him into the corner.  Gunther with a chop on the break and Gunther follows with another chop.  Cody with a kick and a drop down punch.  Cody goes for a springboard move and Gunther with a chop.  Gunther with knees to the midsection and a chop for a near fall.  Gunther with a chop to the back.  Gunther with an Irish whip  Gunther with an Irish whip and Cody floats over.  Gunther goes for a sleeper but Cody escapes.  Cody with a snap mare and Gunther with a boot.  Gunther with a forearm to the back.

Cody with punches and Gunther with a shoulder to send Cody to the mat.  Cody lands on his feet on a belly-to-back suplex and Cody with punches.  Cody floats over in the corner and hits a power slam.  Cody with jabs and a Bionic elbow.  Cody with a kick and Pedigree for a near fall.  Cody goes to the apron and he leaps over Gunther but Gunther with a running drop kick and a power bomb for a near fall.    Gunther goes to the turnbuckles but Cody gets his knees up when Gunther goes for a frog splash.  Cody with Beautiful Disaster followed by CrossRhodes for a near fall.  Cody goes for the double jump Cody Cutter but Gunther sees it coming and Gunther catches Cody and applies a sleeper.  Cody rolls over to get a near fall.  Gunther returns to the sleeper and he gets Cody to the mat and adds a body scissors.

Gunther gets on Cody's back while holding on to the sleeper.  Cody gets to his feet and he drops back to the mat to escape the hold.  Gunther reapplies the sleeper.  Gunther with elbows and he returns to the sleeper.  Gunther adds the body scissors and Cody starts to pass out.  Cody gets a second wind and he gets to the ropes to force a break.  Gunther kicks Cody in the head and waists for him to get to his feet.  Gunther with a forearm to the back but Cody punches back.  Gunther with a chop and Cody fires back.  They go back and forth.  Gunther with a clothesline and Cody with a clotheslines but both men stay on their feet.  Gunther with a clothesline to send Cody to the mat.  Gunther catches Cody on a Cody Cutter attempt.  Gunther goes for a sleeper but Cody reverses.  Cody with a clothesline and a Cody Cutter.

Cody with CrossRhodes for the three count.

Winner:  Cody Rhodes (retains championship)

After the match, Gunther tries to get the referee's attention.

We see the replay and Gunther's leg appeared to be under the bottom rope.

Gunther argues with the referee.

Match Number Two:  Women’s WWE Championship Match: Rhea Ripley versus Jade Cargill

They lock up and go to a stalemate.  They lock up again and they go into the corner.  Rhea with a take down in the collar and elbow tie up.  Jade with a couple of slaps but Rhea with a kick and a face buster.  Jade avoids a clothesline and Jade slams Rhea.  Jade does push ups in front of Rhea and Rhea slaps Jade.  Jade is sent to the floor and Rhea with a drop kick through the ropes.  Rhea goes for a cannonball but Jade sends Rhea to her feet and connects with a forearm.  Jade sends Rhea into the apron and then hits a pop up knee.  Jade sends Rhea into the apron and Jade with a fallaway slam on the floor.  Jade sends Rhea back into the ring.  Rhea with a punch and Jade with elbows and kicks.

Jade chokes Rhea in the ropes.  Jade sends Rhea into the turnbuckles and she chokes Rhea.  Jade with a forearm in the corner and she follows with a hard Irish whip.  Jade with some more push ups.  Jade with a suplex and she gets a near fall.  Jade slams Rhea's head into the mat.  Jade kicks Rhea and connects with a European uppercut.  Jade kicks Rhea in the back.  Rhea with chops.  Jade with an Irish whip.  Jade with a suplex for a near fall.  Jade with a reverse chin lock.  Jade sends Rhea to the mat by the hair.  Rhea with punches and Jade with a punch and slam but Jade misses an elbow drop.  Jade runs shoulder first into the ring post when Rhea moves.  Rhea with clotheslines and a head butt followed by a back heel kick and face plant.  Rhea with a missile drop kick and a German suplex.

Jade goes to the floor and Rhea with a cannonball off the apron.  Rhea goes up top and hits a missile drop kick for a near fall.  Jade blocks Razor's Edge and hits a back body drop.  Rhea kicks Jade and both are down.  They go face to face and they exchange punches and forearms.  Jade misses a bicycle kick but Rhea escapes Jaded.  Rhea with a head butt and Jade escapes RipTide.  Rhea with an enzuigiri.  Rhea sets for a Razor's Edge and she hits it.  Rhea with a Shining Wizard for a near fall.  Rhea gets Jade on her shoulders and Jade holds on to teh ropes and Jade with a head scissors that sends both over the top rope and Rhea hits the apron.  Rhea holds on and drops Jade face first on the apron.

Rhea gets a near fall.  Rhea goes for RipTide and Jade escapes and goes for Jaded but Rhea goes through the legs and tries for RipTide but Jade with a DDT.  Rhea lands on her feet on a belly-to-back suplex.  Jade with a Blue Thunder Bomb for a near fall.  Jade goes up top and Rhea with a chop.  Rhea with another chop and forearm.  Rhea goes to the turnbuckles and Rhea with forearms to the back to set for a Super RipTide.  Rhea goes for a belly-to-back superplex and she hits it and gets a near fall.  

B-Fab and Michin make their way to the ring and Rhea turns into a bicycle kick.  Rhea counters Jaded with a victory roll and double stomp.  Rhea with RipTide and B-Fab eventually almost puts the foot on the rope to stop the count.  The referee sends them to the back.  Rhea goes to the floor and Charlotte Flair with a cross body off the ringside barrier.  Michin is sent into the ring post.

Jade with a bicycle kick and Jaded but Charlotte puts Rhea's foot on the ropes to break the count.  Jade goes for a choke slam and Rhea escapes and hits a head butt.  Rhea with RipTide for the three count.

Winner:  Rhea Ripley (retains championship)

Match Number Three:  Oba Femi versus Brock Lesnar

Brock attacks Oba from behind before the bell rings and Brock with an F5.  Brock with a second F5.  Brock goes for a third one and he hits it.  Brock goes for number four and hits it.  Brock gets a near fall.  Brock goes for the kimura and he adds a body scissors.   Oba gets to his feet and he hits a spine buster to force Brock to release the hold.  Brock returns to the kimura and Oba runs Brock into the corner.  Brock holds on and Oba runs him into the corner again.  Oba finally gets free.  Oba goes for a choke slam and Brock escapes and Brock with an F5.  Brock gets a near fall.  Oba escapes an F5 and Oba with a choke slam for a near fall.  Oba clotheslines Brock over the top rope and Oba also goes to the floor. 

Oba adjusts the announce table.  Brock Irisih whips Oba into the ring post.  Brock with a kimura on the floor and Oba sends Brock into the ring post.  Oba goes for a choke slam onto the announce table but Brock escapes and hits an F5 through the announce table.  Brock gets back in the ring while the referee starts the count.  Oba pops up and he he gets back into the ring.  Brock is in shock and oba with a running uppercut and a second one.  Oba with a third one and a toss power bomb.  Oba goes for the pop up power bomb but Brock escapes.  Brock with another F5 for the three count.

Winner:  Brock Lesnar

Brock tells Oba he is done . . . bitch.

Match Number Four:  Women’s Intercontinental Championship Match: Becky Lynch versus Sol Ruca

Becky has some words for the referee and Sol goes for a matrix to avoid a clothesline.  Sol with a clothesline.  Becky gets in the ropes and hides behind the referee.  Sol blocks a kick and Sol with a spinning face plant.  Sol with forearms and a kick to the back of the leg and a curb stomp into the turnbuckles.  Sol with a splash and a kick for a near fall.  Sol with a wrist lock and arm wringers.  Sol floats over on an Irish whip.  Becky clotheslines Sol over the top rope to the floor.  Becky with a baseball slide.  Becky misses a forearm off the apron and Sol hangs in the ropes to avoid a slap from Becky and Becky hits the ring post.  Sol with a moonsault to the floor.  They return to the ring and Sol gets a near fall.

Becky sends Sol into the turnbuckles.  Sol with a sunset flip for a near fall.  Sol with a leg sweep and she flips over Becky.  Sol blocks a kick and Becky pulls Sol off the ropes.  Becky punches Sol.  Becky with a punch but Sol punches back.  They go back and forth.  Sol goes over the top rope when Becky pulls down the ropes.  Becky with a forearm off the apron.  Becky sends Sol into the ringside barrier a few times.  Becky goes up top and hits a leg drop for a near fall.   Becky with European uppercuts.  Sol with an uppercut of her own.  They go back and forth.  Becky wtih a back heel kick and Sol with a thrust kick to the midsection.  Sol with an uppercut and a flying back elbow or two.  Sol with an Irish whip and a German suplex.  Sol goes to the turnbuckles and hits a missile drop kick.

Sol with a running knee for a near fall.  Becky rolls to the floor.  Sol sets for a Sasuke Spacial and Becky gets back into the ring and Sol with a drop kick.  Becky counters a Sol Snatcher into a cross arm breaker but Sol blocks Becky's hands.  Sol counters into an STF.  Becky escapes and goes for DisArmHer but Sol with a rollup.  Becky with a rollup but it forces the referee out of the ring.  Becky gets a near fall.  Sol gets a near fall.  Becky with a reverse DDT for a near fall.  Becky has some words for the referee and the referee explains herself.  Sol flips out of a uranage and Sol with a drop kick.  Becky sedns Sol to the apron but Sol with forearms.  Becky sends Sol into the turnbuckles.  

Sol blocks a superplex and Sol with a head butt.  Sol with a Super X Factor for a near fall.  Sol goes up top and Becky grabs the referee and pushes her into the ropes to crotch Sol.  Becky with a superplex and Sol blocks a DDT and hits a super kick.  Becky goes to the floor and Sol sets for the Sasuke Special and she glances and hits Becky.  Sol goes for a springboard senton and Becky blocks the clothesline.  Becky hits a uranage for a near fall.  Becky comes off the turnbuckles and Sol catches her and hits a uranage for a near fall.  Becky catches Sol and gets her on her shoulders.  Sol with a susent flip and then she goes to the turnbuckles to escape a uaranage 

Sol with a Sol Snatcher for the three count.

Winner:  Sol Ruca (new champion)

Match Number Five:  Men’s World Championship Match: Roman Reigns versus Jacob Fatu in TRIBAL COMBAT

They lock up and Roman pushes Fatu away.  They lock up and Roman with a side head lock.  Fatu with a punch and a side head lock fo his own.  Fatu with a shoulder tackle.  Roman with a clothesline.  Roman punches Fatu in the corner and sends him into the turnbuckles.  Fatu with a running back elbow and he goes for the Tongan Death Grip but Roman escapes to the floor.  Fatu with a suicide dive to send Roman into the ringside barrier.  Fatu sends Roman into the ringside barrier and then into the crowd.  Fatu with a head butt.  They fight to the stairs and Roman with punches.  Fatu sends Roman into the railing and he follows with head butts.  Fatu sends Roman into a chair.  Roman punches Fatu and hits him with a bucket of ice.

Fatu with a kick and Roman is sent back into the ringside area.  Fatu chokes Roman.  Fatu with a head butt.  Fatu exposes what is under the ring and Roman stops Fatu and punches him.  Roman sends Fatu into the ring post.  Roman looks under the ring and he pulls out a table.  Fatu hits Roman from behind and Fatu pushes the table against the apron.  Roman with a boot.  Fatu sends Roman into the apron and the ring steps.  The top half of the ring steps are placed in the ring.  Fatu sends Roman into the ring.  Roman with an uppercut to send Fatu back to the floor.  Roman picks up the steps and throws them at Fatu and he connects.

Roman with a drive by that sends Fatu into the ring post.  Roman with a clothesline and a leaping clothesline.  Roman with clotheslines in the corner.  Roman with a running boot to the head.  Roman signals for the Superman punch but he misses.  Fatu with punches.  Roman with a kick and Fatu with a clothesline and a back senton.  Fatu with a splash into the corner and then he climbs the turnbuckles to head butt Roman many times.  Fatu with a running hip into the corner and then he goes for a pop up move but Roman counters with a Superman punch for a near fall.  Roman signals for the spear but Fatu with a thrust kick.  Fatu with the Tongan Death Grip and Roman drops to a knee.  Roman is able to get back to his feet and he punches Fatu.  Fatu sends Roman over the top rope to the floor.  Roman counters a suicide dive with a Superman punch and Fatu falls to the floor.

Roman goes under the ring for a kendo stick, but he puts it under.  Roman gets the tool box.  Roman slams the tool box on the Tongan Death Grip hand.  Roman empties the contents of the tool box.  Roman  hits the hand again against the ring steps.  Roman slams the hand into the mat.  Roman with punches.  Roman sets up the table in the ring against the turnbuckles.  Roman slams the hand into the mat again.  Roman sets for the spear and Fatu with a splash and he hits a running hip.  Fatu goes to the floor and he goes for a lap but Roman with a Superman punch to stop Fatu.  Roman spears Fatu through the ringside barrier and two members of the security detail are crushed in the aftermath.  

Roman sends Fatu back into the ring and Roman with a spear for a near fall.  Roman has some words for Fatu about how he doesn't need help and he never needed help.  Roman pulls off the turnbuckle pad and he pulls off a second one.  Roman decides to remove a third turnbuckle pad from its home.  Fatu with the Tongan Death Grip but Roman escapes.  Roman with a Superman punch and Fatu stand on his feet.  Roman with another Superman punch and Fatu stays on his feet.  Roman sends Fatu into two exposed turnbuckles and Fatu with a spear to Roman for a near fall.  Fatu misses the double jump moonsault when Roman moves.  Roman with a spear attempt but Fatu catches Roman and hits a pop up Samoan drop.   Fatu with a double jump moonsault for a near fall.

Roman hits Fatu in the groinal area when he kicked out.  Fatu with a punch and Roman punches back.  They go back and forth.  Fatu with the Tongan Death Grip and Roman escapes and he sends Fatu into the exposed turnbuckle many times.  Roman sets for a spear through the table and he connects.  Roman gets to his feet first and Roman with another spear for the three count.

Winner:  Roman Reigns (retains championship)

After the match, Jimmy and Jey Uso make their way to the ring.

Roman notices Solo Sikoa, Talla Tonga, and Tama Tonga in the crowd.  He says he has something for them too.

Fatu sees Solo, Tama, and Talla.

Roman sends Jimmy and Jey down the aisle to tell Fatu to move it.
