AEW Dynamite is live from the Liacouras Center in Philadelphia, PA. Our commentary team is Excalibur, Taz, and Tony Schiavone.
Excalibur goes over the upcoming matches for tonight’s show. He then throws it to Renee Paquette after Sunday’s show, where she asks Will Ospreay how he is feeling, and he says he is doing great. Ospreay then meets up with Kenny Omega in the medical room, and Omega says you can’t trust the Death Riders and asks why Ospreay didn’t turn to him for help. Ospreay says that Kenny isn’t there every week. Kenny says he can’t be there every week, but if they stick together, they can do amazing things. He also says you can’t trust the Death Riders. Jon Moxley then shows up and says Kenny is right.
In the arena, Kevin Knight comes to the ring as the crowd boos him. Knight says he shouldn’t expect anything less from the meatheads in the crowd. Knight says he told Darby Allin not to blow it, and he did, just like the local sports teams did. Knight says he wasn’t going to “trust the process” anymore, so he took things into his own hands. He asks who the last person to beat MJF was and answers that he was the one who beat MJF and should have been in that main event.
“Speedball” Mike Bailey comes out and says that Kevin is ambitious, but impatient, and that attacking Darby was a mistake. He says they can fix it if Kevin apologizes. Kevin refuses the handshake and attacks Bailey.
In the back, Renee is with Ricochet and GOA. Ricochet says he is not concerned with anything involving Jericho. He’s upset that his guys are banned from ringside, but Jericho doesn’t have seven other guys to back him up. So tonight, Ricochet will show Jericho that he is out of this world.

In the back, Renee is with MJF when Kevin Knight shows up. MJF thanks Kevin and says it shows respect for him. Knight stops him and says he didn’t do it for MJF — he did it because he should have had the title shot. Kyle Fletcher appears and says Knight has a good belt. Don Callis then says if Knight wants to be serious about being “Kevin Two Belts,” he knows who to talk to.
We then get a hype video for Mark Briscoe.
Renee is with Jamie Hayter and Alex Windsor, and they both say they are always ready to fight. Alex says she is ready to face anyone in the Owen Hart Tournament.
It is now time for the MJF championship celebration. MJF is carried out on a throne, and we are shown footage of him winning the title on Sunday night. He insults the crowd and says Darby Allin is hanging his head in shame because MJF beat him with a headlock takeover for the third time. He says only eight men have become three-time world champions before the age of 30. He boasts about himself and says the fans are fortunate to witness him.
He then tells the crowd to bow before the greatest of all time.
Instead, Mark Briscoe comes out and pulls down MJF’s banner. Mark says MJF is a stranger in a strange place, like a penguin wandering through the desert. Mark praises Philadelphia and says MJF is not tough. Mark says MJF thinks he is better than everyone else and reminds him that he has pinned him before. Mark then says he wants a title shot.
MJF says he will not give Mark a title shot. He says everyone else in the company thinks this is a sport, while he knows it’s a business. MJF says it would be bad business for Mark Briscoe to challenge for the title because Mark is nowhere near the level of “the Devil.” MJF leaves, but as he heads up the aisle, Rush comes out.
Rush says it’s funny that Mark is a chicken farmer, because MJF is chickenshit. He says he has earned a title shot and works from a business standpoint. Cage asks what he said that was so wrong and says it’s not like he “banged any of their mothers.” Cage says FTR is the toughest team they’ve shared the ring with and brought out the best in them. Cope says FTR stepped into the ring with two men who were once told they would never wrestle again and now have their careers back.
Cope says it’s time to have some fun and says they haven’t done this in 25 years: the five-second pose. Cage says he won’t do it. Cope asks the crowd if they want to see it. Cage says nobody even uses flash cameras anymore. Cope then pulls out disposable cameras and hands them to fans.
Before they can strike the pose, David Finlay and Clark Connors attack them. Cage’s hand is jammed between the steel steps and the ring, and Finlay smashes it with a shillelagh.
