I feel like I need a reality check here; is Trick Williams the next top star? The way he is over with the crowd, it reminds me of young heel Rock where he is so charismatic, so entertaining that fans just can't boo him no matter what he does. And with that cool, cocky character they don't need to change anything to turn him face; just aim him at a heel and the crowd will eat it up. Of all the talent to come out of NXT, he's the guy who feels like the next main event talent, the next top star. Am I crazy for thinking that?
Trick is already a star and he’s well on his way to being the next megastar for the company. As I said with Mike the other day, he’s not the next Rock to me. He’s the first Trick Willie. And no, you are certainly not crazy to see his star potential.
If Backlash was always going to be Asuka's last match before taking some extended time off, what was the original plan for that match if Kairi Sane was not let go? Would we have seen a definitive resolution to the Asuka/Kairi storyline? Would they have given Asuka the same sendoff post-match?
All I know is that it was a fluid situation due to Asuka’s personal issue.
If there never was a Montreal Screwjob, if Bret Hart had decided to drop the belt at Survivor Series, would Vince NOT have created Mr. McMahon? There would never be Bret Screwed Bret, but seemingly there would never be an Austin vs McMahon feud. Here’s a shorter version - did Montreal set in motion what VKM needed to keep WWE alive?
Vince absolutely did what he had to do at a time when his company was flailing and losing to WCW. I think the Bret incident was a perfect segue into the Mr. McMahon character. I can’t say whether it would have happened without Bret but at that time Vince was leaving his comfort zone to do what he had to do to save the company. And, after he won the war, he went back to what he liked to promote.
Has WWE painted themselves into a corner with the El Grande Americano feud? Maybe it's me, but I've grown tired of it, it seems pointless, and after Chad Gable or Ludwig Kaiser is unmasked, then what? Does the loser immediately go back to their former character? How do you think fans will react to this? And, do the Creeds, Tyler Bates, and Pete Dunne suddenly reappear after long absences?
Well, since you sent this we have had the situation with Marcel Barthel’s arrest so that complicates things. The feud is really big in Mexico, so it’s being done as much for AAA as for WWE. I have enjoyed the silliness aspect of it and I think that there are a lot of ways that they can go after the mask match.
