5/17 NJPW BEST OF SUPER JUNIOR RESULTS FROM TOKYO, JAPAN

From Yoyogi, Tokyo, Japan:

1 - Titan vs. Daiki Nagai

Titan gets the submission win with The Scorpion Death Lock with a Bridge.

Titan has 6 points.

Daiki Nagai has 0 points.

2 - Jakob Austin Young vs. Yoshinobu Kanemaru

Kanemaru hits a low blow and pins Young with a headscissors into cradle.

Yoshinobu Kanemaru has 2 points.

Jakob Austin Young has 0 points.

3 - Ryusuke Taguchi vs. Valiente Jr.

In the opening moments, Valiente tried for flipping attack, but he came down awkwardly on Taguchi's knee.   The referee immediately called the match off and Taguchi was the winner.   

Ryusuke Tagcuhi has 6 points.

Valiente has 0 points.

Officials immediately came out to assist Valiente with his injury.

4 - KUSHIDA vs. SHO

SHO causes a referee bump.  KUSHIDA hits Back to the Future, but no referee to make the count.   SHO hits a low blow, but no referee to make the count.  SHO applies the Snake Bite.  KUSHIDA reveres into the Mandible Claw.   SHO hits KUSHIDA with a metal sheet.    SHO applies the Snake Bite again.    KUSHIDA taps out.

SHO has 6 points.

KUSHIDA has 2 points.

5 - Nick Wayne vs. Francesco Akira

Akira blocks Wayne's World and rolls Wayne into a cradle with a handful of tights.

Francesco Akira has 2 points.

Nick Wayne has 2 points.

6 - Hyo vs. Daisuke Sasaki

Sasaki reverses out of Samson Driver into a cradle.   Hyo comes off the top rope and Sasaki puts him in a Crossface.   Sasaki transitions into a modified Rings of Saturn and Hyo submits.

Daisuke Sasaki has 6 points.

Hyo has 2 points.

7 - Master Wato vs. Robbie X

Good match.   Wato hits the Tsutenkaku German.   Robbie kicks out.    Wato hits Recientemente and gets the pin.

Master Wato has 2 points.

Robbie X has 2 points.

8 - YOH vs. Taiji Ishimori

Another good match.    YOH goes for a Direct Drive, but Ishimori hits La Mistica and applies the Bone Lock.  YOH struggles to his feet and hits a Bloody Cross on Ishimori.  YOH hits a Direct Drive.   YOH pins Ishimori.

YOH has 4 points.

Taiji Ishimori has 2 points.

9 - Kosei Fujita vs. Jun Kusai

Kasai gets a massive pop from the crowd.  Both men battle with chairs.   Kasai smashes Fujita in the head with the chair.   Fujita rolls to the floor.   Kasai slices Fujita open with a weapon and then hides it.  Fujita is bloodied.  Kasai attacks Fujita with headbutts and punches to the cut.  Fujita fights back with kicks.  Fujita applies an Indian Deathlock submission, but Kasai fights out of it.   Kasai hits a Tiger Driver.   They exchange reversals.  They go to the floor and Fujita pulls out a table.  Fujita tries to powerbomb Kasai, but Kasai pulls out a fork and stabs Fujita in the head.   Fujita falls on the table and Kasai hits a top rope splash, smashing the table and Fujita.    Big chant for Kasai.   Kasai takes out two syringes.   He stabs them both into his skull.   They sell the idea that Kasai injected himself with adrenaline.   Kasai runs full speed and hits a lariat.   Fujita kicks out.  Fujita hits a suplex.  Kasai hits a Tiger Driver.   Two count.  Kasai hits a top rope splash.   Two count.    Kasai rolls Fujita into a pin with an inside cradle. 

Jun Kasai has 2 points.

Kosei Fujita has 4 points.

Jun Kasai brings a different element to the BOSJ.    His deathmatch tactics are accepted because it is Jun Kasai and the crowd loves what he does.    However, it does take away some of the mystique from the tournament and makes Kasai's matches a "must see" to see the crazy things he will do.    Fujita did seem excited to face Kasai and more than willing to bleed.

10 - El Desperado vs. Robbie Eagles

Another good match.  Both men attack each other's legs as is their normal strategy.  Both applied their finishers and both were selling the legs.  Desperado hits a Superplex and Guitara de Angel.  Two count.    Desperado misses a frog splash.  Eagles hits a splash on the leg.   They trade strikes.   Desperado hits a spear.  They trade reversals.   Eagles with a Asai DDT and a Hammerlock DDT.  Two count.  Eagles hits a Shining Wizard.     Eagles pins Desperado.  

Robbie Eagles has 2 points.

El Desperado has 2 points.
