5/16 AEW COLLISION COVERAGE

By Cory Strode on 2026-05-16 22:55:00

AEW Collision (even though Tony Schiavone said it was Dynamite) is live from the Wicomico Civic Center in Salisbury, MD. Our commentary team is Tony Schiavone and Nigel McGuinness.

We have a promo from the Death Riders after Dynamite and Mox says no matter what he does, he can’t beat Kyle O’Reilly. He says this might mean you think Kyle will beat him for the Continental Title, but the Jon Moxley of yesterday is not the Jon Moxley of today or tomorrow. He will find a way to win.

Claudio Castagnoli says if he faces Brody King, King better bring the bite and not just the bark.

Kyle O’Reilly, Mark Briscoe, and Orange Cassidy (AEW Trios Champions) vs Lee Moriarty, Shawn Dean, and Carlie Bravo w/Shane Taylor - Eliminator match

Briscoe and Bravo start by running the ropes and Briscoe hits a shoulder tackle and then Redneck Kung Fu. Bravo avoids the Kung Fu but they throw hands in the middle of the ring and Briscoe chops Bravo down. Lee and Kyle tag in and quickly move to mat wrestling. Kyle gets a leg based rollup for one only. Lee gets a roll through pin for two. They run the ropes and Lee tries for a sunset flip and Kyle makes it into an ankle lock which sounds the tag team alarm and everyone is brawling.

Lee is left in Kyle’s corner, and Lee gets ten in the corner, Mark gets ten in the corner and Cassidy hits one in the corner. Dean is tagged in and Cassidy stays in the ring. Dean calls for Cassidy to go to his pockets and Cassidy obliges him. They run the ropes and Cassidy gets a hip toss and follows with a monkey flip.

Cassidy is sent up and over in the corner and Cassidy slams then each face-first into the top turnbuckle. Lee attacks Cassidy on the corner. Dean runs Cassidy into a spear from Bravo. He is pulled onto the apron where Shane Taylor drops the leg and we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Cassidy has been the babyface in peril. Cassidy is able to break out of an abdominal stretch that all of Bravo’s team was helping with behind the ref’s back and gets a hip toss. Kyle tags in and runs wild until Kyle gets a cross arm breaker on Lee, and Lee’s team breaks it up. Dean tags in. He and Bravo get a two-man neck breaker for two. Kyle is able to take down both Bravo and Dean and Kyle tags in Briscoe, and the crowd finally gets what they have been chanting for.

Briscoe cleans house. This goes to dive time and Briscoe goes to use a chair as a springboard, but Taylor gets on the apron to clock him. Cassidy nails Taylor with an orange punch and Briscoe dives. Dean is rolled into the ring and Briscoe hits froggie bo, followed by a Jay Driller on Dean for the pin and the win.

Winners: Kyle O’Reilly, Mark Briscoe, and Orange Cassidy

We get a promo from Will Ospreay from after Dynamite for Samoa Joe. He says he has been too busy to get back to Joe, and six months were taken from his life for neck surgery, which was filled with frustration and anger. Since he came back, he’s been losing. He won’t be able to explain to anyone and no matter what anyone thinks, Jon Moxley stands up for the company. He finds it ironic that the man who took away his old life is giving him a chance at a new one.

In the back, Lexi Nair is with the Conglomeration. Kyle O’Reilly says that facing Jon Moxley is the biggest test of his career. Mack Briscoe says he has yet to hear back from Tommaso Ciampa about his challenge. Willow Nightingale says she is coming for the Owen Hart Tournament and the World title.
