5/9 WWE BACKLASH REPORT: TWO TITLE MATCHES, WHO WAS THE MYSTERY PARTNER, WHAT WAS THE ANNOUNCEMENT, AND MORE

Match Number One:  Seth Rollins versus Bron Breakker

Seth with a kick and it sends Bron to the floor.  Seth with a suicide dive.  Seth punches Bron and sends him back into the ring.  Seth clotheslines Bron ovr the rope rope and hits another suicide dive.  Bron with a knee and he sends Seth over the ringside barrier into the crowd.  Seth with a clothesline back into the rnigside area.  They return to the ring and Seth goes up top.  Bron catches Seth off the turnbuckles and Bron with an overhead belly-to-belly suplex that sends Seth to the floor.  Bron goes to the floor and he kicks Seth.  Bron with knees and he sends Seth into the apron.  Seth with a chop and Bron with a double leg take down and punches.  Bron sends Seth back into the ring.  Bron with shoulders in the corner.  

Bron with punches to the midsection followed by a suplex for a near fall.  Seth pushes Bron away and Seth with punches Bron with a German suplex.  Bron with a reverse chin lock.  Seth with a jaw breaker and a chop.  Seth with more chops.  Bron with a tilt-a-whirl back breaker for a near fall.  Bron grabs Seth by the hair and works on the neck.  Bron with a rear chin lock. into a reverse chin lock.  Seth with a belly-to-back suplex and both men are down.  Seth with punches to Bron but Bron comes back with a warp clothesline for a near fall.  Bron with a German suplex and he hits a second one.  Bron waits for a third one and he hits it.  Bron gets a near fall.  

Seth slaps Bron and Bron punches Seth.  Bron pushes Seth into the corner and he connects with a shoulder.  Bron puts Seth on the turnbuckles for the Frankensteiner but Seth pushes Bron off.  Bron gets back up and hits the Frankensteiner for a near fall.  Bron with a knee to the midsection and a scond wone.  Bron sends Seth to the floor.  Bron goes to the floor for a flying shoulder but Seth stops him with a super kick.  Both men beat the count back into teh ring.  Seth wtih a forearm into the corner.  Seth with short arm clotheslines but Bron stays on his feet.  Seth with forearms and punches to Bron to get him to his knees.  Seth with a running clothesline for a near fall.  Seth with the Stomp but it doesn't fully connect and Seth gets a near fall.  

Seth with boots to the head.  Seth sets for the Stomp but Bron moves and he grabs Seth's foot.  Bron presses Seth over his head and hits a double knee gut buster.  Seth with a kick when Bron goes for a spear.  Bron with a moonsault and he gets a near fall.  Bron goes to the turnbuckles and punches SEth.  SEth grabs Bron and sts for a buckle bomb and hits it.  Bron with a clothesline and both men are down.  Seth goes to the floor and he holds his wrist.  Bron sends Seth into the announce table and then Bron goes to the apron for the flying clothesline and he hits it as they go over the announce table.  Bron goes up top and Seth leaps up for a superplex but Bron with a Falcon Arrow for a near fall.  

Bron with shoulders in the corner and he puts Seth on the turnbuckles.  Bron goes for a superplex but Seth blocks it.  Seth pushes Bron off the turnbuckles and Bron leaps up and he hits another Frankensteiner.  Bron punches Seth and puts him on the turnbuckles again.  Bron with another Frankensteiner but Seth lands on his feet.  Bron is in shock at what happened.  Seth with a super kick and a second one.  Seth goes for a third one but Bron blocks it.  Seth with a Pedigree and then he hits the Stomp.  Paul Heyman gets on the apron to argue with and distract the referee.  Seth goes under the ring and he gets a chair.  

Austin Theory and Logan Paul try to interfere and Seth hits them with the chair.  Seth chaes Logan and Austin to teh back.  Seth returns to teh ring and Bron with a spear as Seth re-enters but Bron can only get a near fall.  The straps come downand Bron sets for the WARP spear but Seth counters with a Pedigree.  Seth with goes to teh turnbuckles for the Stomp but Bron spears Seth.  Bron with a WARP spear for the three count.

Winner:  Bron Breakker

Corey and Big E talk about the opening match and if there is anyone who is willing to help Seth Rollins after the help that the Vision gave to Bron.

Trick is asked by Cathy about Sami Zayn's comments.

Trick tells Sami to quit lying.  He says he is the puppet master and he is running this.

Match Number Two:  Men’s United States Championship Match: Trick Williams versus Sami Zayn

They lock up and Trick backs Sami into the corner.  Sami with a chop on the break.  Sami with a side head lock and Trick with a flying clothesline.  Trick with chops in the corner.  Trick with a back hand slap and kicks in the corner.  Sami goes to the floor on an Irish whip.  Trick follows and he hits Sami from behind while Sami exchanges some words with Yachty.  Semi sends Trick into the ring steps.  Sami grabs the ring steps but tosses them away and he goes after Yachty while Trick returns to the ring.  Sami with punches.  Sami with a cross face to Trick.  Sami with a chop and clothesline.  Sami gets a near fall.  Sami gets another near fall. 

Sami slaps Trick on the mat and then he turns his attention to Yachty.  Trick with a neck breaker.  Trick with punches and an uppercut.  Trick with a jumping side kick and slam.  Trick picks up Sami from the mat and Sami counters with an arm drag.  Trick with a thrust kick.  Trick goes for the jumping knee and Sami blocks it.  Trick with a uranage for a near fall.  Trick puts Sami on the turnbuckles.  Sami with elbows and punches to stop Trick.  Sami with forearms and he goes or the sunset flip power bomb and hits it for a near fall.  Sami sets for the Helluva Kick and Trick with a thrust kick.  Trick misses a jumping side kick and Sami with a Blue Thunder Bomb for a near fall.  Sami with a punch.  Sami leaps over Trick but his knee gives out.  The referee checks on Sami's knee and Trick eventually goes to pick up Sami but Sami with an inside cradle for a near fall.

Yachty distracts the referee and Sami hits Trick with the candy cane but Sami can only get a near fall.  Sami kicks Trick in the corner.  Sami with more kicks to Trick.  The referee pushes Sami to the center of the ring.  Sami sets for the Helluva Kick and Yachty hits Sami with the candy cane.  Trick with the jumping knee for a near fall.  Sami sends Trick to the floor.  Sami hits Yachty and hits him with the candy cane.  Trick with a clothesline to send Sami into teh ring steps.  Trick with a uranage attempt on teh ring steps and Sami counters with a DDT on the steps.  Sami sends Trick into the ring and hits a Helluva Kick on Yachty.  Sami sets for the Helluva Kick but Trick moves and he hits a jumping knee for the three count.

Winner:  Trick Williams (retains championship)

Corey and Big E talk about Trick's victory over Sami Zayn.

Match Number Three:  Kit Wilson and Miz versus Danhausen and Partner (Clonehausen)

Kit kicks the clone and poses.  Clone with a chop and kicks.  Clone with a springboard forearm.  He hits a head scissors take down.  Miz tags in and Clone with a satellite head scissors.  Kit holds him awy from him but Clone kicks Kit and then goes to the ropes for a kick to Miz and then he tries for a rana but Kit blocks it.  Clone with a rana to send Kit to the floor.  He goes up top and hits a cross body onto Miz and Kit.  Danhausen sends Kit back into the ring.  Miz sends Danhausen into the ropes and then Kit with a kick and Miz punches Clone.  Kit sends Clone into the turnbuckles and Miz tags in.  Miz presses Clone over hie head and hits a power slam.  

Kit and Miz hit a double delayed vertical suplex and then Miz lets Kit finish on his own.  Kit gets a near fall.  Kit gets another near fall.  Kit with a reverse chin lock.  Kit puts Clone on the turnbuckles and in the tree of woe.  Kit with shoulders.  Kit goes for an elbow into the corner and misses.  Clone with a moonsault.  Miz tags in and so does Danhausen.  Danhausen with a reversal atomic drop and clothesline.  Danhausen with a Northern lights suplex.  Danhausen with clotheslines in the corner and he gets a second wind for more.  Danhausen with a tornado DDT on Miz.  Danhausen with a boot to Kit when he pushes Miz out of the way.  Miz with a rollup for a near fall.  Miz with a boot.  Clone hits Miz in the turnbuckles and hits a rana on Kit that sends Kit over the top rope to the floor.  Cline with a suicide dive.

Clone chaes Kit to the back and Kit with a kick.  Kit sends Clone into the 'machine' and closes the door.

The door opens and the Clones have mutated into multiple Clones.  They chase Kit to the ring and one of them hits an Airplane Spin.  Kit grabs the mirror and Miz with a Skull Crushing Finale for a near fall.  Danhausen pulls Clone to his corner to make the tag.  Miz punches Danhausen.  Danhausen with a Thesz Press and punches.  He clotheslines Miz over the to rope to the floor and he does the same to Kit.  Miz sends Danhausen into the announce table and he gets a fire extinguisher and Miz hits himself and Kit with the spreay.  Clone hits a cross body onto Kit on the floor.  Danhausen with a bicycle kick for he three count.

Winners:  Danhausen and Many Morehausens

Match Number Four:  Iyo Sky versus Asuka

They lock up and Asuka with a take down.  Iyo with a take down.  Iyo with a clean break and Asuka pushes Iyo.  They lock up and Asuka pie faces Iyo.  Asuka with a forearm and side head lock.  Asuka with a side head lock take down.  Iyo with a shoulder tackle and neither go down.  Asuka with forearms and Iyo with a handspring and a leg sweep.  Iyo with a drop kick.  Iyo kicks Asuka in the corner.  Asuka with a forearm.  Iyo with a forearm and Asuka with forearms and she sends Iyo to the mat but Iyo with a handspring.  Iyo with a drop toe hold to send Asuka into the turnbuckles.  Iyo with a hesitation double knee strike for a near fall.  Asuka rolls to the floor.  Asuka with a forearm on the apron but Iyo blocks being sent into the turnbuckles.  Iyo with a back elbow.  Iyo goes for an Asai Moonsault and Asuka trips Iyo and connects with a forearm.

Asuka sends Iyo into the ringside barrier and apron.  Asuka breaks the count and returns to the floor.  Asuka with Kawada kicks.  Asuka with a Boston Crab in the ropes.  Asuka chokes Iyo in the ropes.  Asuka pie faces Iyo and Iyo with forearms.  Asuka with a round kick for a near fall.  Asuka with punches.  Asuka with kicks to Iyo but Iyo with forearms and a victory roll into a double stomp.  Iyo  with a back fist and shotei.  Asuka with an Irish whip and Iyo goes to the apron.  Iyo drops the arm on the top rope and she goes up top.  Iyo with a missile drop kick.  Iyo sets for the running double knee strike in the corner and she hits it.  Iyo gets a near fall.  Asuka blocks a butterfly back breaker and she connects with a series of kicks and a flying kick for a near fall.  Asuka misses a round kick and Iyo with a rollup for a near fall.  

Iyo misses a near fall and hits a back heel kick for a near fall.  Iyo with a waist lock and Asuka gets to the ropes.  IYo with a German usplex and bridge for a near fall.  Asuka with a Fujiwara arm bar.  Iyo with a kick and both are down.  Asuka with a take down into the Asuka lock but Iyo with elbows to escape.  Iyo with a face buster.  Asuka goes for the cross arm breaker and locks it in.  Iyo rolls through into an Asuka lock with a body scissors. Asuka tries to get to the ropes and she is able to get there to force the break.  Iyo goes to the turnbuckles for a superplex but Asuka stops Iyo.  Asuka goes up top but Iyo with a shotei.  Iyo with forearms on the turnbuckles and a Frankesteiner but Asuka rolls through with a sunset flip for a near fall.  

Asuka sets for the running hip and Iyo moves.  Asuka gets caught in the ropes and Iyo drop kicks her to the floor.  Iyo goes for a suicide dive but Asuka with a punch.  Asuka puts Iyo on the announce table.  Asuka goes for a suplex on the announce table but Iyo blocks it.  Asuka with a kick and she goes for the mist but Iyo uses a folder to block it.  Iyo blocks a kick and she drops to the floor and drives the knee onto the table.  Iyo with a cross body off the table.  Iyo with an Asai moonsault.  Iyo sends Asuka into the ring and Iyo sets for the moonsault.  Asuka gets her feet up and she applies a cross arm breaker.  Iyo escapes and Asuka iwth a triangle.  Iyo gets a near fall.  Asuka with the Asuka Lock and Iyo almost passes out but rolls over to get a near fall.  

Asuka slaps Iyo and Iyo slaps back.  They go back and fort with slaps and punches.  Asuak blocks a round kick and hits a German suplex.  Iyo iwth a German suplex and Iyo sets for the running double knee strike.  Iyo goes up top for the moonsault and gets the three count.

Winner:  Iyo Sky

After the match, Iyo and Asuka hug.

John Cena makes his way to the ring.

John says this is so cool.  John says he can really lean into movments like this because no one is coming down the aisle to kick his teeth in.  John thanks the fans for the energy and gratitude.  What would be the next phase of his WWE career?  

The crowd chants for one more match.    He says thinks about his last match.  There are some who are upset, but John says he was truly happy.  He says he couldn't be more happy because that night, we made it so much bigger.  It was about opportunity.  He says he asked the superstars to give opportunities to NXT superstars to be in front of a crowd like this and prove themselves.  We saw Sol Ruca, Je'Von Evans, and Oba Femi.  This is what the energy sounds like.  He debuted in December and then he strutted to Wrestlemania to kick Brock Lesnar's ass.

John says we have to do it again, so we are.

John announces the John Cena Classic.  An entire evening of the best of today competing with the best of tomorrow.  WWE superstars and NXT superstars get an opportunity to prove themselves.  

There is a new championship for WWE.  John says he is putting his name on it.  He will strive for a certain level of excellence and he will make it special.  The biggest superstar in WWE is the WWE Universe.  For the first time in history, your voice will be heard louder than before.  The audience and fans will vote on the winner.  

For the first time in history, someone might not win the match, but their hustle will win your respect and vote.This embodies everything he stands for and he says this is important.  He will give everything he has to do this as long as possible.  John thanks Oba for being one of the people who made this possible.

John thanks WWE for taking a chance on this.  He thanks everyone at home and he thanks Tampa.  John says you know this city means a lot fo him.  

Match Number Five:  Men’s World Championship Match: Roman Reigns versus Jacob Fatu

Roman and Fatu stand in their respective corners.  They lock up and Roman with a side head lock.  Roman with a shoulder tackle and Fatu pops up.  They lock up and Fatu with a side head lock.  Fatu with a shoulder tackle.  Roman with a clothesline but Fatu stays on his feet.  Fatu with a shoulder tackle and then he clotheslines Roman over the top rope to the floor.  Fatu with a suicide dive and he goes for the Tongan Death Grip and he pushes Roman into the ring post.  Fatu grabs the hair and Roman pulls Fatu to the floor.  Roman sends the hand into the ring post.  Roman with a punch.  They return to the ring.  Roman with an arm wringer and he sends Fatu into the turnbuckles.  Fatu with a punch and head butt.  Fatu with more punches and head butts.  Roman with an uppercut and punches.  

Roman climbs the turnbuckles and he punches Fatu.  Fatu pushes him off and Roman with clotheslines into the corner.  Fatu with a short arm clothesline.  Fatu with head butts.  Fatu sends Roman shoulder first into the ring post.  Fatu misses a splash and Roman with clotheslines and a flying clothesline.  Roman with a running boot.  Roman sets for the Superman punch and hits it for a near fall.  Fatu gets up and Roman is shocked.  Fatu with punches but Roman with a kick.  Fatu with clotheslines and he hits a splash in the corner.  Fatu head butts Roman in the corner.  Fatu with a running hip into the corner.  Fatu goes for another running hip but Roman recovers and hits a Superman punch for a near fall.  

Fatu goes to the floor and Roman follows.  Roman with a Drive By.  Roman adjusts the announce table.  Ftu with the Tongan Death Grip and Roman tries to fight out of it.  Fatu power bombs Roman through the table.  Fatu sends Roman back into the ring and he sets for a charge into the corner but Roman with a spear for a near fall.  Roman looks around and sets for a spear.  Fatu with a pop up Samoan rop and Fatu with a double jump moonsault for a near fall.  Fatu with many diving head butts.  Fatu punches Roman.  Fatu goes back to the turnbuckles and he goes for a swanton but Roman gets his knees up.  Roman and Fatu go face to face and exchange punches.  They continue the exchange by bouncing off the ropes.  Fatu with a running hip into the corner and a second one.  Fatu signals for the Tongan Death Grip and applies it.  

Roman starts to fade and the referee drops the arm but on the third try, it stays up.  Roman backs Fatu into the corner and the ref goes down.  Roman with a Superman punch. Fatu with a super kick and Roman with a pop up Superman punch and spear for a near fall.  Fatu with the Tongan Death Grip and Roman sends Fatu into the turnbuckles to escape.  Roman with a spear for the three count.

Winner:  Roman Reigns (Retains championship)

After the match Fatu has some words for the referee and he applies the Tongan Death Grip to Roman.  He does it a second time.  Fatu with a pop up Samoan drop to the referee.  Fatu applies the Tongan Death Grip again and offfickals come to the ring and Fatu takes care of them. 

Fatu leaves the ring, but he makes his way back to reapply the Tongan Death Grip.
