Have we heard whether there's a new WWE video game coming?

There's been no official announcement but I haven't anything that dissuades me from believing there will eventually be a WWE 2K27, etc.

I'm watching The Wrestler for the first time and I'm wondering what people in pro wrestling thought of the film at the time it came out?

If I recall correctly, it was mixed.  There were some who hated the film and felt it painted the idea that everyone in wrestling was going to end up a penniless mess.  There were some who liked it because they felt it put a serious face on the sacrifice they put into the business.  Some were just happy to see independent wrestling featured and spotlighted.  Some loved the film enough that they threw their name in to help be part of the DVD release features, including Roddy Piper and DDP.  It was across the board.

Did Mickey Rourke really get all muscled up for the film?

Yes, but the photos of him in the 80s during his heyday were doctored photos of Lex Luger.

Did Rourke really blade?

No, there was a Prosthetic he wore that bled out.  It's on display in NYC at Museum of Moving Image. 

What happened to the stories of Nicolas Cage doing the film?

Afa Anoa'i told me during an interview Cage showed up, did training and then decided this wasn't for him.  There was a version of that story floating around that he was roughed up in his first training session and decided he wanted out but it's never been verified beyond a story passed around.

What do see you the legacy of the film as?

It's a good move that received several Oscar nominations.  What more of a legacy does it need?
