THE AMERICANOS ARE SET FOR BATTLE: 5/2 AAA LUCHA LIBRE TV REPORT

By Mike Johnson on 2026-05-03 01:19:00

Welcome to the PWInsider.com AAA Lucha Libre TV report!

This week they are in Querétaro.

Corey Graves, JBL, and Rey Mysterio are on commentary.

Backstage, Dorian Roldán told El Hijo del Vikingo that he would be facing El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. in the near future. Vikingo blew off the idea of facing Wagner before saying he would first handle Mini Vikingo. Wagner later confronted Roldán as Omos looked on.

El Hijo del Vikingo vs. Mini Vikingo

Vikingo immediately went on the offensive, attacking Mini Vikingo before and after the bell. He controlled the early portion of the match with strikes, kicks, and corner offense, keeping Mini grounded.  They battled to the outside, where Vikingo continued to dominate, sending Mini into the ring steps.  He hit a suplex and powerbomb on the entrance ramp. Mini eventually mounted a comeback with a series of quick counters, including a twisting tornillo into a crucifix driver.    Vikingo attempted to use an exposed turnbuckle, but the move backfired, allowing Mini to regain momentum. After the referee was KO'd, outside interference came into play. El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. appeared and attacked Vikingo with a chair. Mini followed up with a 630 splash to score the pinfall.

Your winner, Mini Vikingo!

Wagner and Mini celebrated until Omos hit the ring and laid them out. Galeno del Mal made the save, and the Wagner brothers cleared Omos from the ring.

AAA Cruiserweight Champion Laredo Kid vs. Rey Fenix

This was a fast-paced bout.  Early, they went into a series of counters and athletic exchanges.  Laredo took control with a Michinoku Driver and a top rope splash for near falls. Fenix responded with top-rope running kick and a dive to the floor.  They battled back and forth and kept exchaning near falls.   Fenix capitalized with a Mexican Musclebuster to score the win.

Your winner, Rey Fenix!

Fenix attempted to show respect after, but Laredo blew it off.

They aired a video package aired highlighting recent attacks on members of Psycho Circus, building toward a confrontation between Psycho Clown and Pagano next week.

They then aired video package teasing La Catalina.

Contract Signing

Dorian Roldán presided over a contract signing between El Grande Americano Original and the current El Grande Americano for their Mask vs. Mask match on 5/30.

They announced a clause preventing physical contact between the two until 5/30, with any violation resulting in an automatic loss of the mask.

Both competitors signed the contract.  Original threw a pen at Americano before leaving the ring.

Brutus and Julius Creed attacked Americano and put him through a table as Original watched from the entrance area.  Rayo and Bravo made the save.
