Spotlight Match: Rain Conway vs All In Bayno

Bayno is a bit of a cannonball and he bowls over Conway early. The kids are into jeering Rain, they’ve been taught well. Rain trying to keep his opponent down but Bayno keeps firing up. Rain finally resorts raking the eyes and hits his rainmaker for the win. Boooooooo!

Tonight we start the tournament for the Wrestling Open championship, which was vacated by Fancy Ryan Clancy last week due to injury. They have brackets to fill out at the door. Let’s see if I call it or if my bracket gets busted already.

Match 1: DJ Powers vs Eye Black Jack (1st Round match)

DJ wants to talk but he has microphone trouble and the Jack blows through the curtain. Both guys messed with each other on Thursday so this is gonna be a hot one. They brawl into the chairs until Powers chops the post. WHOOPS. DJ tries to stay on top of this and grind Jack down. EBJ fires up…big powerslam for two. Powers lands a claymore for another close fall but he gets too involved with shouting at the camera and people at ringside. He tries a triangle choke, Jack slams free! Kick out! Jack whiffs the splash! DJ tries a double stomp but Jack dodges and rolls him up for the three!!!!

Liviyah is on the stage for a promo. She says she hasn’t forgotten about Kylie Alexa. She knows she has a target on her back…but she’s found a friend to watch her six. Kylie better find a partner next week because she’s bringing our homie, the Gnomie, Gabby Forza to Cranston!

Match 2: Oxx Adams vs Love Doug (1st Round match)

Oxx is without BRG tonight. Or at least…BRG isn’t here right NOW. Doug goes right at the huge man but Oxx quickly overpowers him. Even a faceful of flower petals gets walked through. Doug tricks Oxx into ramming into the post…nah…that doesn’t do much. Adams just tossing and slamming Doug at will. Doug fires back up and almost chops the tree down with a Rebound….but the second one gets caught…Oxx with a huge chokeslam and he stands on Doug’s chest to get the three. Pure domination.

Match 3: Stetson Ranch (Steven Stetson & Bobby Casale) vs StarStruck (Anthony Greene & Channing Thomas)

Solid back and forth match here. Both teams going for it right out the gate. You don’t need a big story to tell this clash of big favorites and mega heels. Stetson is baited into a big boot on Bobby and StarStruck finishes the job with a demolition device for the win in a hot 8 min match. The Ranch does NOT like this. 

Greene tells Steve to make sure Brian Morris is back from vacation next week because he plans on taking him out in their first round tournament match!

Cash McGuiness “has arrived”. He has a “White Boy of the Year” shirt. He says he’s here to prove that he’s next up at Open. I already hate this kid. Unironically. Anyways, he talks smack about Bobby Orlando so here comes Mom.

Match 4: Bobby Orlando vs Cash McGuiness

Bobby runs through Cash in 20 seconds and wins with a blue Thunder bomb. He even got a bloody nose in the process. I liked seeing him get embarrassed.

Bobby Orlando calls out Dustin Waller because they have a tournament match next week. Waller says if Bobby’s gonna “beat him down” next week…why not now? Waller runs in and Bobby charges but here’s Kylon to turn this into a PROBLEM. Bear Bronson’s music hits and I think we have our next tournament match in the ring!

Match 5: Kylon King vs Bear Bronson (1st Round Match)

Bear pummels Kylon around the ring. He pummels Kylon inside the ring. Bobby and Dustin brawl out of the room so this is a fair fight for now. Kylon finally get some room when he posts Bear and drops him on the apron. He’ll take a countout. Thats easier. Bear back in and FIRES UP. Huge black hole slam could be the end but King kicks out. Kylon TRYING. He hits a sunset flip bomb out of the corner. Indices from different corners connect. BEAR KICKS OUT! This is a blast. Bronson chops back to life. King fighting hard but he eats the discus lariat and Bear puts a cherry on it with the Fire Thunder Driver for the win!!!

Main Event: The Verdict (Bryce Donovan & Vinny Scalise w/ Smart Mark Sterling) vs Shooter Boy (Anthony Vecchio & Aaron Ortiz) (Two out of Three Falls)

Sterling isn’t just in a cast thing week. He has a neck brace and a walker?!? That’s just an extra weapon to use. He needs some tennis balls for this thing.

1st Fall: And it goes right to the floor. Verdict think they’re being smart but they both eat the post. Meanwhile, Sterling has a spray bottle to keep the Shooter Boys away, as if they were bad cats. Bryce and Vinny have a BAD first few minutes in the ring, getting absolutely trucked by the energy of these kids. Vecchio tries a suicide dive but lands in Bryce’s grip. Huge chokeslam to the apron and Vinny capitalizes with a codebreaker. Vecchio getting pummeling for a LONNNNNNNG time. Ortiz tries to tag in hot but he eats a huge spinout slam for a near fall. Bryce tries a blindside shot as Ortiz gets fired into the ropes but he rolls up Vinny and Donovan can’t make the save….The Shooter Boys take the first fall after a grueling 12 minutes.

2nd Fall: Vinny and Bryce are all over Ortiz. Aaron actually manages to get space by launching Scalise into a spear in Bryce. He gets the tag to Vecchio! Anthony is heated up but he DID get the heck beat out of him in that last fall. The Verdice are sent to the floor and Vecchio dives out after them….huge rolling German to Vinny for two! Shooter Boys set up Scalise for the finish but Bryce shoots Ortiz into the top rope. A black hole slam and a lungblower connect! Vecchio tries to make the save. He clocks Bryce, who falls on a prone Ortiz. Scalise pulls Vecchio o away as Ref Gina counts the three on Ortiz! We’re tied up!

3rd Fall: Both teams slowly slug it out in the center. Shooter Boys get stereo ankle locks on the Verdict! They escape and Bryce drops Ortiz with a huge chokeslam. Vinny tries to blindside but winds up in another ankle lock. They trade roll ups but. O omen can get it. Crowd is HOT for the shooter boys to take this. Vecchio wants a superplex but Bryce chokeslams him off the top….Vinny with a splash! Kick out! Bryce starting to blame ref Gina for this “lack of winning” problem they seem to be having. He shoves Gina! Gina shoves back! Bryce almost gets rolled up! Body toss to Vinny! Ortiz dives over the top and bulldogs Scalise into Bryce in the floor! Doomsday Blockbuster to Vinny! Kick out! Crowd is full “this is awesome” mode. And it is. Bryce shoves Ortiz off the top to the floor. Sterling leaps out of his seat and cracks Vecchio with his cast. Vinny quickly grabs Vecchio and hits a dude buster for the win. Noooooooooo!!!!

The crowd HATES this finish…but Verdict goes through the curtain without Sterling. StarStruck comes out and throws him to the Shooter Boys for a little payback. A double superkick puts Sterling down and he stays flattened and dead in the ring through the teardown. Delightful.
