SECOND JOSH BARNETT'S BLOODSPORT REPORT FROM LAS VEGAS

By David Houston on 2026-04-19 15:55:00

Game Changer Wrestling and Josh Barnett presented Bloodsport XV at the Horseshoe Las Vegas as part of GCW's Collective event.

Todd Kenely and "Filthy" Tom Lawlor on commentary. Very good team.

Matt Mako (aka Matt Makowski) evened his Bloodsport record at 4-4, beating Angel Verdusczo (0-1) by referee's stoppage.

WWE star Ulka Sasaki beat Joe Dashou by KO. Both making their Bloodsport debut.

New Japan superstar and former World champion Zack Sabre Jr (2-0) defeated Ray Jaz (0-2) of the Full Blooded Italians by submission.

Tokyo Joshi Pro superstar Miyu Yamashita (1-2) got her first Bloodsport win, beating "The Kick Demon" Janai Kai by KO (1-4). A strike-heavy bout unlike the previous technical/submission-based bouts.

Royce Isaacs (who commentary called "Mr. Bloodsport") evened his record at 6-6, beating Shane Mercer (0-22).

WWE star Pete Dunne (3-0) defeated Masashi Takeda (1-1). I like Pete Dunne's work but I hate Dunne in Bloodsport. A rule is there is no small joint attacks but Dunne does them anyway and there are no consequences.

Fuminori Abe got his first Bloodsport victory (1-1), beating Erick Stevens, making his debut (which surprised me). First blood of the show but not the last.

WWE star Charlie Dempsey (5-1) beat Timothy Thatcher (4-4-1) by submission. Great match.

Longtime WWE star Nattie Neidhart (3-0) broke the tie between herself and former WWE star Shayna Bazler (2-1), handing Bazler her first Bloodsport defeat.
Neidhart won by a razor thin countout. This was excellent.  Bazler was gushing blood from her mouth.

The main event was 23 yrs in the making as Josh Barnett (12-2-1) defeated New Japan Wrestling legend Yugi Nagata, avenging his Tokyo Dome loss to Nagata in 2003. This was Nagata's Bloodsport debut.  Good main event from two longtime veterans.  Barnett thanked the crowd for their support and announced this would be the final Bloodsport for the foreseeable future.  They went out strong with a card that built up in intensity and a very strong second half.
