4/19 NJPW ROAD TO WRESTLE DONTAKU RESULTS FROM TOKYO, JAPAN

From Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan:

1 - Yuya Uemura, Taichi and Masatora Yasuda vs. Ryusuke Taguchi, YOH and Taisei Nakahara

Uemura forces Nakahara to tap out to a wrist lock submission.

2 - Shota Umino, Togi Makabe, Tomoaki Honma and Master Wato vs. Chase Owens, SHO, Yujiro Takahashi and Yoshinobu Kanemaru

Kanemaru spit whiskey in Honma's eyes.   Owens hit a stiff C-Trigger.   Owens tried for his finisher but Honma was knocked senseless.     Owen covers Honma for the pin and win.

3 - Hirooki Goto, YOSHI-HASHI and Tatsuya Matsumoto vs. HENARE, Great O-Khan and Jakob Austin Young

In the opening video of this show, they did not show any footage of United Empire in AEW.  

Young hits Another One Bites the Dust on Matsumoto and gets the pin.

After the match, HENARE and O-Khan attacked Bishomon and laid them out.   They will fight tomorrow for a shot at the Knockout Brothers and the IWGP Tag Team Championship.

United Empire played babyfaces in AEW, but there are heels in New Japan, so it was smart to not show any footage of their past 2 weeks in AEW.   Callum Newman as IWGP World Champion should not be seen as Ospreay's "young boy" in AEW.

4 - Boltin Oleg, Aaron Wolf and Toru Yano vs. Ren Narita, Don Fale and Dick Togo

Yano pins Togo with a school boy cradle.

5 -  Shingo Takagi, Yota Tsuji, Gedo and Daiki Nagai vs. Callum Newman, Jake Lee Francesco Akira and Zane Jay

Tsuji pins Zane Jay after a Gene Blaster.

United Empire are operating like a good heel faction.

After the match, a video plays of Andrade El Idolo.   He challenges Yota Tsuji for the IWGP Global Championship.   (Now that Gabe Kidd is out injured again).  Tsuji accepts and they will meet at Wrestling Dontaku on May 2.

6 - OSKAR and Robbie X vs. Hartley Jackson and Kosei Fujita

OSKAR hits a chokeslam into a sit-down powerbomb on Jackson.   OSKAR pins Jackson.

7 - Yuto-Ice and Taiji Ishimori vs. Ryohei Oiwa and Robbie Eagles

Eagles chop blocks Ishimori's knee.   Oiwa cradles Ishimori into a Royal Clutch to get the win.   

The Road to Wrestling Dontaku continues on April 20, 24, 25, 26 and 29.  Wrestling Dontaku 2026 will be a two night event on May 3 and 4 in Fukuoka, Japan highlighted by Yota Tsuji vs. Andrade El Idolo on May 3.    On May 4, the main event will be Callum Newman vs. Shingo Takagi for the IWGP World Championship
