4/18 MLP MULTIVERSE REPORT FROM LAS VEGAS

Maple Leaf Pro Multiverse in the Pearl Theater at the Palms Casino, which has looked the best of all the Indy venues so far this weekend.  The commentary team is Johnny Laquasto and So Cal Val. Mike Johnson is blogging live from the venue and I will be covering the recap play by play.  

The audio is awful and the commentary can’t be heard over the music. 

Subculture (Flash Morgan Webster and Mark Andrews) vs Guy Coll and Vaughn Vertigo

Vertigo and Webster start the match and Vertigo takes down Webster. Webster works to his feet and they run the ropes and Vertigo gets a shoulder tackle. Webster gets a rollup, but not enough for the ref to get into position. Webster gets a senton for two. 

Vertigo gets an uppercut and tags in Cool. Cool gets a headbutt and Webstar gets into the ring for double team moves and a two count. Cool rakes the eyes and Vertigo tags in. They get a double team suplex, but Webster catches him and Subculture gets stereo drop kicks. Webster tags in and gets a double axe handle on Vertigo. Vertigo tosses Webster into the ropes for a German suplex. Vertigo covers for two. 

Cool tags in and gets a Russian leg sweep for two. He gets a front face lock and Webster works to his feet, but is whipped to the corner when Vertigo tags in. Vertigo gets a series of strikes and tags in Cool. Coll gets a snap mare and follows with an arm bar. Webster works to his feet and fights free. Cool gets a pump handle back breaker and Vertigo tags in. Coll is able to escape the moves from Vertigo and Cool to tag in Andrews,who cleans house. 

Andrews gets a moonsault for a two count on Vertigo. Vertigo gets a jawbreaker and tags in Cool. Subculture gets a two man falcon arrow for two, broken up by Vertigo. Vertigo is sent to the floor and Andrews tags in. Andrews leaps and misses Coll and Cool gets a cutter and tags in Vertigo who gets a senton followed by a shining wizard for two broken up by Webster. 

Webster dives onto Cool. Andrews gets a stundog millionaire and follows with a moonsault for the pin and the win.

Winners: Subculture

Fast paced start to the show.

Steven Borden vs. Kiran Grey

They lock up, go to the ropes, and Borden shoves Grey back. He then gets a slam on Grey and when Grey charges, he leaps over him and gets an arm drag. Borden gets a back body drop but misses a splash as Grey avoids it. They brawl on the floor and Grey rolls Borden into the ring and Grey whips Borden to the corner. Grey gets a snap mare after running into Borden in the corner. Grey follows with an elbow drop. He then hits a splash for two.  

Grey drops Borden with a leg sweep. Borden gets a rollup for two when Grey misses a spin kick. Grey gets a twisting neck break for two. Grey misses a charge into the corner. Grey goes to the top and Borden gets a drop kick on him. Borden then joins Grey on top. Grey headbutts Borden down and then misses a leap from the top when Borden rolls inward. Borden gets a pair of clotheslines and a flap jack followed by a splash and a bulldog slam. 

Borden goes for a full nelson slam but Grey escapes and gets a bicycle kick. Grey lets the crowd yell at him. Grey picks Borden up and goes for the scorpion death drop and Borden escapes by hitting a snap mare and hits the full nelson slam for the pin and the win. 

Winner: Steven Borden 

We then see Paul Walter Hauser’s appearance on Jimmy Kimmel

The Demand (Ricochet, Toa Leona, and Bishop Kaun) vs Rich Swann, Michael Oku, Sidney Akeem. 

Swann dances in the ring before the bell.

Ricochet and Swann start and Ricochet tags out immediately to Kaun. They lock up and Kaun shoves Swann back. Kaun tosses Swann around and then charges into him. Kaun misses a senton and Swan gets a crucifix pin, but Kaun gets up with Swann on his back. Swann gets a drop-kick and when they go to the ropes, Ricochet tags in. 

Swann leaps on Ricochet and that sets off the tag team siren and everyone is in the ring. All of the Demand are sent to the floor and Swann’s team goes to the floor as the Demand gets in the ring. They do this again and Swann’s team dives. 

Ricochet is shot into the ring and Swann lays in blows. They trade waistlocks. Kaun tags in as Swann goes for an O’Conner roll. Swann’s team are sent to the floor and Kaun takes over in the ring by sending Swann to the corner and gets a big chop. Swann is the babyface in peril as each member of the Demand tags in and works him over. 

Swann is able to fight out of the corner and dodges a charge from Ricochet. Kaun chops at him and hits the ringpost and Leona misses a senton and Swann gets the tag to Akeem after kicking off Ricochet. 

Akeem cleans house with Swann. Oku joins them and all three get charges into Ricochet in the corner. Oku gets a tilt a whirl DDT for two. Kaun tags in and Akeem is left in the ring. Kaun charges into Akeem follows with a suplex and Leona gets a senton for two. Ricochet tags in and gets a quick series of attacks in the corner. Kaun gets a neck break and Ricochet gets a leaping splash for two. 

Swann pulls Ricochet to the floor and starts working him over. Akeem gets a double DDT on GOA. Akeem and Oku hit super kicks on Kaun. All three of Swann's team get superkicks on Leona. Akeem and Oku go to the top and hit splashes on Leona. Akeem covers for two and Ricochet and Kaun break it up.

All six men are in the ring and they throw hands. All six brawl in the ring and GOA is sent to the floor. Ricochet misses the spirit gun Akeem and Oku dive but are caught but GOA. Akeem is rolled into the ring and he is slammed. Ricochet hits the Ricocault on Akeem for the pin and the win.,

Winners: The Demand

Hechicero (CMLL World Champion) vs Jonathan Gresham

I have been looking forward to this all weekend.

The crowd is chanting for Hechicero. 

They shake hands before the match. They start to lock up and Gresham pulls back. They lock up with a Greco Roman knuckle lock and it turns to arm bars. Graham gets the octopus hold and they go to the ropes. They shake hands again.

They lock up and go to mat wrestling. Hechicero comes up with a leg and drops on it. Gresham kicks his way free. Hechicero holds out the hand and Gresham slaps it away. Gresham goes to the corner to cool off and then he goes to the corner to retie his boots. Hechicero picks the leg and Gresham is able to escape and Gresham shows Hechicero’s boot is loose. When Hechicero is fixing it, Gresham drops the leg. 

Weird to see Hechicero as the babyface.

Gresham gets a series of kicks and then gets a figure four. Gresham rolls over to get more pressure and poses for the crowd. Hechicero gets to the rope and Gresham says he can’t get himself free. The ref pulls them apart. The ref lectures Gresham, who begs for forgiveness. The crowd chants “Ref, you suck.” 

Gresham avoids attacks from Hechicero and drop kicks the knee. Hechicero gets a big chop and Gresham goes to the floor to recover. Gresham jaws with the crowd on the floor. Gresh hits a chop that does nothing. Gresham powers up the chop and it does nothing. Hechicero gets a chop and drops Gresham. Gresham takes off his wrist tape and instead of chopping Hechicero’s chest, he hits Hechicero in the swimsuit area as the ref was getting rid of the wrist tape.

Greshma kicks the leg and whips Hechicero to the corner. Hechicero goes up and over to the apron. Gresham misses a kick and Hechicero gets a dragon screw in the rope. Hechicero goes to the top and gets a leaping lariat for two. They go back and forth and Hechicero gets a hammerlock spin into a back breaker. 

They get to their feet and throw hands. Gresham kicks the knee and Hechicero is done. Gresham gets the octopus and Hechicero tosses him off. Hechicero gets a flying surfboard. Gresham works his hands free and gets an ankle lock. Hechicero gets to his feet and Greshma gets a pair of German suplexes with a bridge on the second for two. 

Hechicero gets a flip into the tear naked choke. Greshma escapes and ties for the leg, but Hechicero gets a leg trapping arm bar and knees Gresham.Gresham and Hechicero go back and forth with two counts. Hechicero gets a knee to Gresham’s head. Hechicero gets a crucifix bomb for two. Hechicero rolls Grehsma into a leg-based cover for the pin and the win.

Winner and still CMLL Champion: Hechicero

Hecicero is presented the title by Scott D’Amore and Saladore Lutteroff, the heads of MLP and CMLL.

This was my favorite match of the weekend so far. 

We get a video package showing the feud between QT Marshall and Paul Walter Hauser

Mark Roberts joins commentary. 

Paul Walter Hauser vs. QT Marshall in a Hardcore Match. 

Both Hechicero AND QT Marshall as Babyfaces?  Canada is Bizarro world, even when it’s a Canadian promotion in Vegas. 

They lock up and Hauser gets a side headlock. They run the ropes and Hauser gets an eye poke. They throw hands to the corner and go back and forth with strikes. QT gets a diamond cutter and Hauser goes to the floor. QT gets a baseball slide into Hauser. QT goes under the ring ;looking for something. He finds an energy drink and drakes a sip. 

He then pulls out a door and makes a bridge with it from the barricade to the ring. QT pulls Hauser over the barricade into the ringside area. Hauser gets a knee strike and drops QT on the barricade. Hauser grabs a chair and goes to the apron. He leaps off the apron hitting the chair on QT’s back. 

He rolls QT into the ring and gets into the ring with a chair. QT gets a heat seeker DDT onto the chair. QT pulls out a barbed wire board and slides it into the ring. He also throws more plunder into the ring. He throws a garbage can that hits Hauser in the head. QT flings a garbage can lid into Hauser. Hauser reverses a suplex and grabs the barbed wire board and sets it up in the corner. 

Hauser runs QT into the barbed wire board and then nails QT with his Proteus title belt and covers for two QT is busted open Hauser grabs a kendo stick and nails QT with it. Hauser goes to the top and nails QT with the Kendo stick and covers for one only. A table is set up in the ring by Hauser who dumps a bag of tacks on the table.  Hauser joins QT on the top and they fight on top. QT pulls off Hauser's shirt and then slams Hauser through the table for two.

QT calls for a diamond cutter and Hauser gets a low blow. Hauser gets a spinebuster and then gets a Texas Cloverleaf. Hauser loses his balance and then hits a senton. He goes for the cloverleaf again. QT has to tap out. 

Winner: Paul Walter Hauser

The signal goes out for a bit after Hauser’s victory so we miss most fo the hype video for the next match. 

Gisele Shaw (MLP Women's Champion) vs Persephone vs Shotzi Blackheart vs Killer Kelly

Killer Kelly comes out as a surprise after Shaw comes to the ring. 

Everyone turns to Shaw and goes after her. Everyone tries for a quick rollup on another woman and the match resets. Shaw takes blows from everyone and Shaw is tossed to the floor. Shotzi and Persephone fight on the top and Shotzi gets a tejaris to drop Persephone and then Shotzi goes after Kelly and gets a tiger feint kick. Shotzi and Persephone go back and forth and Kelly gets a suplex on Shotzi.

Persephone and Kelly trade rollups and Perseophoen gets a drop-kick on Kelly. Kelly traps Persephone’s arms and gets headbutts. Shotzi gets a crossbody on both of them. Shotzi gets a crucifix bomb and Persephone and then Shotzi hits cannonballs in the corner on Persephone and Kelly. 

Shaw shows and superkicks Shotzi. She gets a series of attacks in the corner and then gets a hanging suplex for two. She lays in attacks on Shotzi and when she goes to the corner. Shotzi dodges a charge and gets a rolling kick and everyone is down.

Shotzi gets a sling blade and discus forearm. Shotzi gets a top rope leg drop and charges for a leap, but Persephone trips her and pulls her to the floor. Perseophoen goes for a leap off the apron, but Kelly grabs her and gets a PK.  As they are fighting back and forth, Shotzi dives into them.

Shaw goes to the top and hits a tornado cross body. Persephone is rolled into the ring and Shaw covers for two. Persephone puts Shaw on top and Shaw fights free. Persephone grabs Shaw for a crucifix power bomb, but Shaw escapes and puts Perseophoen into an electric chair position and Shotzi drop-kicks them. Kelly sniffs each one before pulling up Shaw and picks her up. Shaw escapes and they go back and forth. Kelly gets a German suplex. Shotzi gets a German suplex on her. Perseophoen gets a fallaway suplex on her and Shaw gets a double underhook backbreaker and then a face-plant. Shotzi gets a poisonrana and Shaw gets a spear on Shotzi. 

Persephone and Kelly throw hands and Kelly switches to a headbutt and then hits a Death Valley driver for two. Persephone gets a German suplex and steps on Kelly on her way to the top. Kelly shoves her and joins Persepphoen on top and gets a dragon sleeper in the tree of woe. Persephone escapes and gets a drop-kick on Kelly. Persephone gets a crucifix power bomb for two, Shaw breaks it up and covers Kelly for the pin and the win.

D’Lo Brown joins commentary.

The Rascalz (Zachary Wentz, Myron Reed, and Dezmond Xavier) vs Mascara Dorada, Amazing Red, and Mistico

Dorada and Xavier start the match. They lock up and go to arm bars and headlocks. They run the ropes and come to a stalemate. They shake hands and Xavier gets a kick to the midsection. The Rascalz work over Dorada in their cover. Dorada is able to fight them off and Mistico enters and hits a cross body. 

Mistico gets kicks on everyone and gets a top rope arm drag on Xavier. The Rascalz are all down and Mistico and Dorada dive onto them. Red runs the ropes and gets a quick series of attacks on Xavier. Red and Reeve go back and forth and Dorada enters the ring and the Rascalz work him over and get a cover for two. Wentz gets a cover after he and Xavier get a quick series of couple teams. 

Mistico gets a big cross body on Wentz and then a springboard back elbow. Red gets a missile drop-kick and then takes out each of the Rascalz. Mistico’s team gets a triple dive onto the Rascalz. They return to the ring and stack the Rascalz on top of each other for a double submission move where Red drop-kicks Xavier and Mistico covers for two. Wentz takes attacks for all of Mistico's team and Red covers for two and the rest of the Rascalz break it up and all six men are down. The Rascalz get big moves on all of Mistico’s team. 

Xavier covers Dorada for two. Red and Reed go back and forth. Dorada then takes his place when drop-kicked. Everyone gets a big move on the last person in the ring and everyone is down. 

Everyone is able to get big moves again on the last person. Mistico gets La Mistica and Reed has to tap out.

Winners: Mascara Dorada, Amazing Red, and Mistico

An amazing spotfest on fast-forward to end a typically great MLP show.
