4/16 AEW COLLISION REPORT

AEW Collision was recorded Wednesday after Dynamite from Angels of the Wind Arena in Everett, WA for night Two of Spring Breakthru. Our commentary team is Tony Schiavone, Excalibur, and Nigel McGuinness.

We start with Adam Copeland on his way to the ring with something to say. He says he is beat up and Cage is getting his arm checked to see if it is broken. He makes a gag about how you don’t mess with Cage’s watch. Cope asks if FTR thinks they are going to walk away and give up? That’s not what they do, Cage was forced to retire and fought his way back. Cope had to retire and he fought his way back. Cope says they will end FTR.

FTR’s music hits and they come to the ring with Stokely. As they are on their way, Rocky Romero and Trent Beretta attack and FTR joins in the attack. The Young Bucks hit the ring and helped Cope clear the ring. 

Jack Perry is in the back and says that after what Don Callis and his Family did to the Young Bucks, he tells Don to pick someone from the Family for a match at Dynamite.

The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) vs the Rascalz Zachary Wentz and Myron Reed

This should be a high-flying flippy dippy showcase. 

Nick and Wentz start with arm bars, running the ropes for big moves. Matt is tagged in and they get a double team swinging neckbreaker. Reed is tagged in, and the Bucks keep up the double team moves. The Bucks get double kicks in the corner and take down Reed and then Wentz. Matt tags in Nick and then are run into each other by Reed, who lands on his feet after suplexes from each Buck and then crawls to the tag on Wentz. Wentz keeps up the attacks on the Bucks and he and Reed vie onto the Bucks at ringside. Wentz then uses Reed as a springboard and dives into the Bucks again.

Nick is shot into the ring and is able to shove them into each other until Wentz holds Nick as Reed kicks him into a suplex and they cover Nick for two and we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Nick has been kept from tagging out. Nick gets a flying tejaris and an arm drag on both of the Rascalz. Matt is tagged in and then gets a series of Northern Lights suplexes on Wentz. Reed tries to break it up and Matt adds him for another suplex. Matt slides to the floor to give Reed a superkick and then slides into the ring for a DDT on Wentz. All four men are the ring and the Bucks give bulldogs to the Rascalz. The Bucks hit stereo dives from the top for two.

The Bucks get stereo sunset flips into sharpshooters. The Rascalz get to the ropes for the break. The Bucks start a superkick party and Reed is able to grab a foot and fire it at the other Buck and then runs into a superkick from Matt. Wentz gets a high springboard cutter from the top rope. Reed gets a Leaping DDT on Matt from the apron to the floor. Wentz gets a sky twist senton and Reed gets a 450 splash for two, broken up by Matt. Nick and Reed fight on top and Nick gets a hurricanrana. The Bucks get a superkick on Reed and then hit the FTE trigger for two, broken up by Wentz.

Wentz gets a tornado from the second turnbuckle, but gets caught. Wentz fights out of a Meltzer driver set up and rolls up Nick for two. The Bucks get him back into position and hit a TKDriver for the pin and the win.

Winners: The Young Bucks

Clark Connors and David Finlay hit the ring and take out the Bucks and the Rascalz. They take the mic and say they want bodies and they want gold. 

We get a hype video for the Divine Dominion.

The Conglomeration (Orange Cassidy, Kyle O’Reilly, and Roderick Strong) Trios Champions vs Lethal Twist (Jay Lethal, Blake Christian, and Lee Johnson) - Eliminator match

Lethal and Kyle start the match and Lethal drives Kyle to the corner and stomps him down. Kyle fights out of the corner and they run the ropes. Lethal gets a hip toss, but Kyle is able to grab the arm and roll him into a two count. Cassidy tags in and he and Kyle double team Lethal and Cassidy covers for one.

Lethal escapes a headlock and Roddy tags in as does Johnson. Johnson is sent to the Conglomeration corner. Cassidy tags in as Roddy holds Johnson for the lazy elbow drop. Christian tags in and as they lock up, Cassidy puts Christian’s hands in his pockets. They run the ropes and Cassidy goes for his pockets. Cassidy gets an arm drag, but Christian flips out of it. Christina flips the double bird and they run the ropes. Cassidy gets stundog millionaire and that sets off the tag team alarm as Johnson gets into the ring and Lethal pulls Kyle off the apron.

Strong is kicked to the floor and Christian dives onto him as Joshnon and then Christian works over Cassidy in the ring. All three members of the Twist strut as we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Cassidy has been the babyface in peril. Cassidy is finally able to fight his way free out of a sunset flip by Christian and tags in Roddy, who cleans house. Roddy uses Cassidy as a weapon and then Roddy gets an assisted DDT on Christian for two. Lethal tags in and Roddy gets a series of kicks and then a low bridge on him. Kyle tags in and leaps onto Letha before getting a series of kicks and strikes on Johnson. Lethal gets a dragon screw on Kyle and when Lethal goes for a figure four, Kyle gets a small package for two.

Johnson and Christian get a series of rapid fire kicks on Kyle, and then hold him down as Lethal drops an elbow from the top. Lethal covers for two, broken up by Cassidy. Christian hits the soft kicks on Cassidy who returns them Cassidy sends it with a superkick. From here, each person gets a huge move on the last person who did so. The Lethal Twist triple team Kyle and Lethal get a figure four. Roddy drops Christian on Lethal and Kyle to break it up.

Johnson is tagged in and gets a big boot and Kyle grabs the leg and makes it an ankle lock. Christian tries to break it up and Cassidy stops him with an Orange Punch and Johnson has to tap out.

Winners: The Conglomeration

In the back, Anthony Bowens asks Hook if he is in the Opps or not, and Hook says he will tell him next week.

Kris Statlander and Hikaru Shida vs The Already In The Ring Big Anne and Danika Della Rouge

In the match, Shida seems to be telling Statlander what to do when she tags herself in after Statlander gets in most of her big moves. Shida does most of her big moves and tags in Kris when she has set for a katana. Kris hits the Thursday Night Fever pile drive for the pin and the win.

Winners: Kris Statlander and Hikaru Shida

Jon Moxley (Continental Champion) vs Nick Wayne - Eliminator match

Wayne is returning after being out for six months.

Wayne leaves the ring to stall and the crowd chants for him. Nick returns to the ring when the chants die down and goes for a waistlock. Mox turns it into a side headlock and Nick gets a hammerlock out of it. Mox reverses and drives Nick down. Nick is able to get to his feet and bring Mox down. Mox picks the ankle and covers for one. 

Mox grabs a double wristlock and Nick forces them into the ropes for the break. Nick gets a forearm when they break and hits another. He grabs a snap mare and trash talks Mox. Mox then drops him with a single chop. Mox lays in chops in the corners. Mox then gets ten in the corner. They run the ropes and Nick gets a leaping uppercut. He gets another snap mare and then a pair of leg drops and a leap into a mocking kick. Nick poses and Mox leaves the ring.

Mox paces at ringside before getting back in the ring and calls for a handshake. Nick grabs his hand and Mox pulls him into a pile driver and walks away as we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Mox stomps down Nick in the corner and then hits a Mox then gets a slam suplex for two. Mox moves into a one armed crossface and Nick gets to the ropes for a break. Nick gets his feet up and Mox charges and then hits a drop-kick from the ropes. Mox gets a series of headbutts. Mox and Nick trade forearms as we hit the ten-minute mark. Nick gets sliced bread for two. 

Nick goes for a full Nelson but Mox reverses. They go back and forth and Mox drops him. Nick gets a pair of kicks and Mox clotheslines him. Nick hits a Code Red after a DDT for two. Mox hits a cutter after Nick misses a roundhouse kick. Mox puts Nick into a chinlock and Nick breaks the hold. Mox lays in stomps and kicks and Nick works to his feet and attacks but Mox bites Nick’s face. Nick spits at Mox and gets a roundhouse kick. Mox goes to the floor and Nick goes to the top for a moonsault from the top to the floor. 

Mox is rolled into the ring and tries for Wayne’s World, but Mox catches him. Nick goes for a jack knife pin for two and then gets a roundhouse kick. Mox is busted open. Mox gets a snap mare into a bulldog choke. Nick flips through but Mox holds on. Mox gives up the hold when Nick has loosened it. 

Five minutes remaining.

Mox hits the Death Rider for the pin and the win.

Winner: Jon Moxley

In the back, Don Callis and Kazuchika Okada are asked by Lexi Nair about Takeshita's title shot against Okada. Don Callis says that since Takeshita didn’t follow the agreement they set down, Takeshita doesn’t get the match. Okada wants the match because he is a champion, unlike Takeshita

Pac vs Blackheart Lio Rush

Lio is saying odd nonsense to the camera as Pac watches. Pac jabs him and Rush ignores him. Pac gives a kick and Rush pops up and creeps toward Pac. Pac tries to pull him into the corner, but Rush is able to stop short. Pac gets a reverse kick and Rush still acts weird. Pac tries for a charge and Rush dodges. Rush leaps onto Pac. Pac is able to shove him off and knock him to the mat. 

Pac lays in a kick and covers for one only. Rush gets a pair for kicks and Pac rolls to the floor. Rush grabs him and tries to drag him into the ring. Pac avoids Rush as Rush goes to the floor. Rush then sees Daniel Garcia and leaps on him and attacks. Pac gets a running boot and stomps down Rush on the floor. 

Pac hits a tombstone piledriver on the floor and goes into the ring as we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Pac has a rear chinlock on Rush. They return to their feet and Rush breaks Pac’s grip. Pac is able to suplex Rush into the turnbuckles. Pac goes to the top and Rush slowly crawls out of range. Rush then springs up and calls for Pac to leap on him. Pac drops down and Rush gets a quick series of blows and then a front flip to send Pac to the floor. Rush gallops around the ring before diving onto Pac.

Pac is rolled into the ring and Pac gets a springboard cutter after being thrown into the ropes. Rush gets a rear naked choke and works to his feet. Pac backs into the turnbuckles to break the hold and Tush is able to get a poisonrana for two. Rush picks Pac up and gets a stunner and holds on. Garcia gets on the apron and Rush slowly turns to face him. Garcia tosses water at Rush.

Pac gets a pair of German release suplexes and then a running clothesline and follows with the brutalizer. Rush passes out with a smile on his face.

Winner: Pac

We then get a hype video for Bandido.  

Brody King, Místico, and Máscara Dorada vs The Already In The Ring Ricky Gibson, Bull Rivera, and KC Riff  

This doesn’t last long. Brody wins with a Gonzo Bomb on Riff for the pin and the win.

Winners: Brody King, Místico, and Máscara Dorada

We get a video package of Darby Allin winning the World Title last night. 

Thekla (AEW Women’s Champion) vs Alex Windsor

Thekla dodges the lock-ups and then goes to the floor to stall. Alex chases her and when she returns to the ring she attacks Alex when she gets into the ring. Alex gets a running clothesline and then grounds and pounds Thekla. Alex wisp Thekla across the ring and Thekla goes to the apron and gets a forearm shot when Alex tries to follow up. Thekla goes to the top and when she jumps, Alex dodges and then just trucks Thekla. Windsor gets a vertical suplex. Alex follows with a Russia leg sweep, a low lariat and a two count.

Thekla is able to get to the ropes and Alex grabs her feet. Thekla goes to the floor and then walks away from Alex. Alex gets a PK but Thekla grabs her foot for a leg whip down. Thekla returns to the ring and gets a running boot, knocking Alex to the floor. Thekla goes to the top and hits a crossbody from the top to the floor as we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Thekla has the tarantula hold on Alex. She releases the hold on four and then gets a kick to Alex’s head for two. She beats down Alex in the corner. Alex reveres a whip into the corner and hits a leaping shoulder tackle. Thekla kicks Alex off and is whipped to the ropes where Alex gets a blue thunder bomb for two because that move never wins a match.

Thekla fights out of Alex's hold and they throw hard blows back and forth. Alex gets a hard headbutt and then locks on the sharpshooter. Thekla is able to crawl to the ropes for the break. Thekla blocks the suplex and gets an octopus hold. Alex slowly walks to the ropes for the break. Alex gets a running clothesline and they are both down. 

Alex is up first and goes to the top. Thekla throws a roundhouse punch and joins Alex on top. They fight on top and Thekla goes for the eyes. Thekla puts on brass knuckles. Alex gets a headbutt and goes for a power bomb. Thekla holds on and then nails Alex with the brass knuckles. Thekla hides the knuckles in the ring apron and gets a curb stomp for the pin and the win.

Winner and still Women’s Champion: Thekla
