LEGENDARY CHICAGO INDEPENDENT VENUE CANCELS ALL FUTURE SHOWS

Game Changer Wrestling announced today that all future live events at the Berwyn Eagles Hall in Illinis, a venue that hosted endless independent events for decades including the majority of SHIMMER's legenary run, are canceled.

The cancellation of all pro wrestling in the venue is the fallout of the incident several weeks back when a fan got physically involved with Krule during a death match show promoted Ruthless Pro Wrestling.  There were claims coming out of the show that Krule was in some way stabbed by the fan following the show and video footage of numerous wrestlers beating the fan in the venue made the rounds online.

GCW's Brett Lauderdale, in announcing his own promotion's cancellation from the venue commented:

"We have just been informed by the venue that all events at the Berwyn Eagles Club (including our June 20th event) will have to be cancelled. We will announce a new location for our June 20th event later today."

"This was directly caused by an incident (the fake stabbing) that took place at another promotions event which has caused the town, lawyers & police to be involved. It's truly a shame to see the Berwyn Eagles and 20+ years of Chicago wrestling history come to an end like this."

Chicago's AAW announced their scheduled event at the venue will take place on 4/24 and will be the final event in the venue: "“Crush & Destroy on April 24th 2026 will be the FINAL EVENT at the Berwyn Eagles Club. It started with AAW in February of 2004 and it will end with AAW on April 24th. Tickets are limited as there will be an attendance cap due to town regulations. There are thousands of memories within the walls of this venue and it has had such a powerful influence on what you see on tv today. We hope to have you all join us for a final one on 4/24. Everyone at AAW is saddened by this turn of events but we will deliver a last incredible show in Berwyn only as AAW can! Let’s have a great time together."
