Thoughts on Ricochet's tantrum and subsequent apology?
It was sad to see a grown man act that way. First, to attack someone with a debilitating disease? That’s just vile behavior. And the apology? It was just as bad. Anytime someone does something that disgusting and opens the apology try to offer a lame reason as to why he did it, instead of just saying that he was sorry for being a douchebag? That tells me that he really didn’t mean it and probably was told to do it (see Russo, Vince to Johnson, Mike). Beyond that, when he said, “I took out my hatred for the IWC on Sandi,” what I saw was a guy with major maturity issues. Anyone that would let what people say on social media affect them to the point of hatred needs to get professional help. Immediately.
Are you a little surprised that a month out and there's only 5 confirmed matches for a 2 night WrestleMania?
No, I am not. we have plenty of time to go. As of this writing on Friday morning, we have five really interesting bouts planned. I am fine with it.
I was hooked on AEW from day one through CM Punk’s debut, but the current product feels different. The storylines that once 'clicked' seem to have been replaced by a focus on hyper-violence, like Texas Death Matches, which aren't my cup of tea and are tough to watch with family. What do you see as the biggest difference in AEW’s booking from the early years to now? Does this shift in tone and structure correlate directly with Cody Rhodes no longer having a hand in the creative process?
I think the losses of Punk and Cody, two traditional wrestling people that brought that to their programs and to others who wanted their guidance, hurt the AEW booking process a lot. I would point to that as the major reason for the change.
How great is Brock Lesnar at selling and facial expressions? Just tonight at Raw look at his facial expressions and his selling to Oba. Your thoughts?
Brock did a great job in that angle, a great job. He can do it all, for sure.
What do you think of the main event buildup of Punk vs Reigns? I love it so far, even tonight on Raw, the crowd was red hot and split even between them.
I am loving it. As I said a few days ago, the build for this Mania is so, so, so much better than last year. Punk and Reigns are all time greats. It’s so much fun to watch them go at it.
