Thoughts on the fact Tony Khan made a bid on WWE when it was for sale?

Perhaps it's just me, but I'm not surprised in the least and I don't know why anyone else would be stunned by this.  Let's think about it: who would have a greater awareness of what WWE brings to the table, would have a deep affinity for what their library contains and would have the financial means?  I'm not shocked he put a bid in and I would be more shocked to learn it wasn't even explored.  It would be a different world - literally Tony's world - if they had gone for his offer, which is a crazy "What It?" concept to even think about, right out of the old classic Marvel Comics.

Do we know if Ronda Rousey vs. Gina Carano is going to be a work?

All signs are it is a legitimate fight.  We have mentioned and covered it since Rousey has a connection to professional wrestling, the same way we mention Hollywood projects that pro wrestling personalities are involved with.

Do you think we will get to a point where WWE will celebrate The Fabulous Moolah again?

I'd never say never but I don't believe that will happen.  They'll reference her as a Legend and things of that nature, but I don't see them getting back to naming matches after her or anything like that, especially when Mae Young could fill the same need if they wanted to reference a legend.

I know this is a ridiculous question, but do we know if any of the 900 numbers back in the day maintained archives and if so, where would they be?

I would be shocked if any of those old lines beyond MAYBE WWF and WCW were archived at all.  I'm going to assume most of them were recorded and then recorded over when it was time for a new message to be placed on the line.  I know the late Blackjack Brown had some of his old interviews from his 900 line on tapes but I've no idea whatever happened to them after his passing a few years ago.  My belief is these are things that are lost to time, sadly.    But, that was the nature of the world and that aspect of the business.  They were meant to be something to entice people to call and spend money in the moment, not meant to be archived for all eternity.

I've read that in the old Apter magazines, several of the writers were simply Bill Apter using a psuedonym. I'm curious if this is true, particularly in the case of heel columnist Dan Shocket who supposedly died of cancer.

Dan Shockett was a real writer, who sadly passed away. There were times that Bill and others wrote as other writers. I can tell you that Stu Saks, Apter, Andy Rodriguez, Bob Smith, Brandi Mankiewicz, Steve Anderson, Dan Murphy and Eddie Ellner were all legitimate writers.  Over the years, I've met Bill (who I adore as a person), Steve Anderson, Dan Murphy and Brandi, all of whom were always great in my dealings with them.

Does George Napolitano still shoot pro wrestling photos?  I heard you and Paul Heyman reference him in your interview with Paul.

Yes, George still shoots photos, mostly (I believe) for Japanese wrestling magazines.  He's a great friend and still going strong.
