3/15 NEW JAPAN CUP RESULTS FROM YAMANISHI, JAPAN

1 - YOSHI-HASHI and Taisei Nakahara vs. Hartley Jackson and Kosei Fujita

Fujita forces Nakahara to submit to a Boston Crab.

2 - Aaron Wolf, Toru Yano, Satoshi Kojima and Masatora Yasuda vs. Don Fale, Chase Owens, Yujiro Takahashi and Yoshinobu Kanemaru

Kanemaru forces Yasuda to tap out to a figure four leg lock.

3 - Yota Tsuji, Yuto-Ice, OSKAR, Drilla Moloney and Gedo vs. Jake Lee, HENARE, Great O-Khan, Francesco Akira and Jakob Austin Young

Akira hits Speedfire on Gedo.   Young follows with a Hammerlock DDT on Gedo.  Young pins Gedo.

Both teams continues to antagonize each other after the match.   Moloney tried to steal Jake Lee's stuffed monkey, which he always has with him, and that ignited a brawl as Lee attacked Moloney.  

4 - Hirooki Goto and Tatsuya Matsumoto vs. Callum Newman Zane Jay

Newman hits the Prince's Curse on Matsumoto for the pin.

5 - Shota Umino and Tomoaki Honma vs. Zack Sabre Jr. and Ryohei Oiwa

Oiwa hits The Grip on Honma and gets the pin.

After the match, ZSJ wrenched Umino's arm in the guardrail.  He asked if Shota will show him something this time when meet in few days.  

NEW JAPAN CUP 2026 Matches (Quarterfinals):

6 - Boltin Oleg vs. Ren Narita

Narita attacks Oleg from behind on the way to the ring.  Kanemaru is there to help Narita.   They focus on the left leg of Oleg.   Oleg was able to hit a Kamikaze but was unable to make the pin.  The referee takes a bump.   Don Fale and Kanemaru attack Oleg.   Toru Yano and Aaron Wolf make the save.    Narita goes for a knee bar.   Oleg escapes and hits a release German suplex.  Nartia hits the Double Cross.  Two count.   Narita goes for Hells Guillotine, but Oleg catches him and hits an F5.   Oleg hits a Kamikaze.

Oleg pins Narita.

Boltin Oleg advances to the semi-finals of the New Japan Cup.  

7 - Yuya Uemura vs. Shingo Takagi

Takagi uses his power moves.   Uemura works over Takagi's left arm with submissions and twisting it into the guardrail.   Taking out Takagi's left arm limits his strikes.  Uemura takes down Takagi into a Fujiwara armbar.   Takagi gets to the ropes.  They trade strikes.  They trade suplexes.  Uemura hits a dropkick to the face.  Uemura with a Dragon suplex.   Two count.   Uemura misses a flying bodypress.    Big chant for Takagi in his hometown.   Takagi hits a Southern Cross and Made in Japan.   Uemura kicks out.   Uemura goes for the Deadbolt but Takagi counters.   Takagi hits a lariat and the Burning Dragon.    Two count.  Uemura with a Frankensteiner and goes for a cross arm breaker.  Takagi blocks it.   Uemura hits the Deadbolt suplex.   But he cannot make the cover yet.  Uemura with a dropkick.   Uemura and Takagi battle on the top rope.  Uemura hits a Sunset Bomb.  Uemura hits  a High Fly Flow.   Two count.   Uemura applies the Hammerlock submission.  Takagi hits Uemura with lariats.  Uemura headbutts Takagi and hits a  Deadbolt suples.    

Uemura pins Takagi.

Yuya Uemura advances to face Boltin Oleg in the semi-finals.

Good match.  Arguably the best match in the tournament so far.   Uemura gets a signature win against Takagi.

After the match, Takagi tells his home city to give props to Uemura.  Uemura shows respect and thanks Takagi for a good match.

The New Japan Cup continues on March 17.
