PUNK THE HEEL, BEING CAREFUL WITH CODY, LEVESQUE’S MANIA THINKING AND MORE

Is CM Punk doing a version of Bret Hart’s baby face in Canada but heel in states gimmick as he seems too be the face against everyone but Roman, who he comes across as a heel against him?

I don’t that is being done on purpose.  As we say on Raw on Monday, Punk is a face at times too.  I think it will depend on the crowd as to who gets what reaction.  That can be the case when there are two very popular talents, and one of them isn’t always on TV.  That gives Roman a pop because people don’t see him all the time.  It will be fun to see how it shakes out.

I can't remember the last time Britt Baker was on an AEW show.  Given her lengthly, unexplained absence, what do you think her future in the wrestling business is?  The next time we see her, do you think it will be in AEW, WWE, or is do you think she is done for good?

She was hurt, and now who knows (there than her and Tony Khan).  She is still under contract to AEW.  As to where we will see her next I have no idea.

Wow. Drew losing to Cody to put Cody on top AGAIN! Is it just me or this predictable booking becoming rather dull. I feel the booking of Cody is almost as bad as how they handled Cena in 2025. Unless this is designed to turn him heel slowly then they are really killing his support with the audience. Thoughts?

Cody being pushed at the top is definitely becoming predictable.  But, that isn’t to say that he shouldn’t be pushed that way.  He’s a top star and an asset to the company, no doubt.  With that said, I am becoming a bit concerned that they are pushing him too hard.  I would have preferred that he wasn’t in the Title picture this year.  Any match he is in will have a “main event” feel and it could have given the rub to someone else who got to wrestle him.  I am also concerned that they are not making him overcome obstacles.  He didn’t win The Rumble.  His “last chance” was The Elimination Chamber.  He didn’t win that one either.  Yet, he’s in the Title match anyway.  That kind of push could definitely make some fans turn on him if WWE isn’t careful.  But HHH is thinking of the match he thinks will sell the most tickets (even if there isn’t a lot of hope of doing so given the prices for Mania) so he is going to put out what he think is the best drawing match.

Do you think that Paul Levesque moved Cody Rhodes into the match with Randy Orton because he thinks that will do more ticket sales than Drew McIntyre vs. Orton?

I think that has to be Levesque’s thinking.  Otherwise, he wouldn’t have done it.  I don’t think it needed to be done.  There was a lot of intrigue in Drew vs. Randy, and as O said above, they could have used Cody to elevate another match on the card.
