That segment on SmackDown last night (Feb. 27th) with R-Truth explaining how to use the ESPN app annoyed me so much. Motor City Machine Guns, Fraxiom, Rey Fenix, Los Garza, Johnny Gargano, etc. Why are all these amazingly talented wrestlers doing 2-minute skits backstage? Where are the Street Profits? Where is Santos Escobar. Get these guys in the ring instead of lumbering clods like Talla Tonga!
It was a total comedy segment and if I were one of the guys in it, I would definitely have an idea what Creative thought of me. Yes, they are all great in-ring wrestlers, but none of the are over enough with the fans that they need to be to get the push that you want them to get. The fact is that being great in the ring isn’t as important in WWE as getting over with the fans. That is what gets people pushed most of the time.
Do you think it is wise for WWE to host Wrestlemania in Saudi Arabia given how volatile the region is? They're lucky they managed to get through the last event. Do you know if they have any contingency plans in case there are issues when Wrestlemania comes around.
One of my first thoughts when the US and Israel bombed Iran was what would happen with Wrestlemania next year. They do have 14 months or so to gauge what happens in the region. I would hope that The Saudi could ensure the safety of the wrestlers but it’s not guaranteed. I would think (hope) that as we get closer, WWE monitors the temperature of the region and reacts accordingly. For Jihadists that now really hate the US, taking out an American institution would be attractive to them. My hope is that they wouldn’t cross the Saudis to do it.
Which scenario is more likely: Bayley goes to AEW or Mercedes returns to WWE?
I think Bayley bleeds WWE. I don’t see her ever leaving by choice. So, I will go with Mercedes returning as being more likely.
Did AJ Styles know he was getting inducted into the Hall of Fame or is he just really good at selling?
He said he did not and in the moment I believed he was surprised. That made it even more awesome to me. He genuinely looked like he had no idea what was coming next. I loved it.
