Thinking about the current era of career shortening styles in AEW, looking back which wrestler(s) do you think made the most effective complete reinvention of their wrestling style and move-set due to either age or injury?
To me, the easy answer is Steve Austin. After Owen Hart injured Austin’s neck, he had to become a much different wrestler. People that only saw him as Stone Cold had no idea what a great technician he was as Stunning Steve Austin.
Given his absence the night ECW became extreme, can you share any insight to whether Terry Funk knew of Heyman's plans to disgrace the NWA title?
I have never heard that he knew. The circle for that was pretty small, and that made it so much better to watch play out in real time. I am glad that I was there to see it.
Will Nikki Cross ever wrestle again?
I would think at some point, absolutely.
It’s safe to say Gunther’s heat is beyond scalding, as I see many fans irate that he went over both Cena and Styles in their last matches. But those of us who know the big picture can see that the guy that beats Gunther is the next big star. How would you feel about this possibility: How would you feel if it was Oba Femi that finally dethrones the unstoppable Gunther?
I agree 100 percent that whoever beats Gunther will get a lot of great heat for doing so. I think it’s too soon in Gunther’s run to have it be Oba, at least not any time soon. He needs to stay strong for a while now and I wouldn’t have Femi wait that long to get elevated. I would rather see Oba beat Brock Lesnar. He will get a similar rub doing that and Lesnar is near the end of the line for WWE at 48 years old while Gunther is in his prime.
