2/21 AEW COLLISION REPORT

AEW Collision is live from Frontwave Arena in Oceanside, CA. Our commentary team is Tony Schiavone and Excalibur.

Jet Set Rodeo (Hangman Adam Page, Kevin Knight, and Speedball Mike Bailey) AEW Trio Champions vs The Demand (Ricochet, Toa Leona, and Bishop Kaun)

Ricochet and Bailey start the match and Ricochet shoves Bailey into Page on the apron and while they fight in the ring, Leona and Kaun work over Page and Knight on the floor. Kaun gets into the ring with Ricochet and they take out Bailey, then Knight, and the Page and when Page starts to fight free, Leona attacks Page from behind. Page is able to land on his feet with Leona and Kaun try a backdrop, followed by Bailey and Knight coming off the top to drop-kick Leona and Kaun out of the ring.  

Jet Set Rodeo triple team Ricochet and then leave Bailey in the ring to work him over as the referee gets control of the match. Knight tags in and Ricochet pulls Knight down by his hair. Kaun tags in and works over Knight with chops and strikes. Knight escapes and tags in Bailey who fires a series of kicks and then Ricochet tags in to take kicks from Bailey who covers for two. Ricochet hits in insigiri. Ricochet drops Bailey on the top rope and we’re back to everyone fighting at ringside as we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Bailey has been the babyface in peril. Bailey gets a big kick on Leona and crawls to his corner for the tag to Page, who cleans house. Page hits a pop-up power bomb and a rolling elbow shot for two and we’re back to all three men brawling in the ring. Ricochet gets a 450 splash from the apron for two. Leona and Kaun hold Page, but Ricochet is pulled from the ring and super kicked. Knight and Bailey take down Kaun, but Kaun is able to catch them both for a fallaway slam. 

Now it’s time for everyone to get a big move on the last person in the ring. It ends with Page getting a tombstone pile driver on Ricochet. Page goes to the apron for the buckshot lariat, and Kaun and Leona join him. Page gets a Deadeye on Leona, and Ricochet gets a resigning knee strike. Bailey leaps on Leona and Kaun. Page goes for a buckshot, but Ricochet pulls the ref in front of him.

Ricochet hits Vertigo for two. Then, we hear Jack Perry’s music and he comes to the stage. This allows Page to hit the Buckshot lariat for the pin and the win.

Winners and still Trios Champions: Jet Set Rodeo

Backstage the Rascalz cut a promo through a haze of smoke. FTR shows up and says they are upset that they are smoking weed in the locker room. FTR says they wish they would have won a chance at the title so they could beat them up.  The Rascalz say they could fight anyway and we’ve got an eliminator match tonight.

The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) vs The Swirl (Lee Johnson and Blake Christian) w/Jay Lethal

Blake and Matt start, and Lee knocks Nick off the apron, and from there, it’s all four members in the ring as the Bucks take over with double team moves. When the fight moves to the floor, Swirls is able to get the upper hand. All four return to the ring and it’s super kicks from both teams. The Bucks come out on top of the super kick party. The Bucks hit dives front he top as we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Matt has been the babyface in peril through the break. Matt is able to get a Northern Lights Suplex on both members of the Swirl and crawls to his corner for Nick to get the tag. Nick runs wild, fighting both members of the Swirl. Matt is tagged back in and we get the Bucks’ greatest hits in their double team moves. 

This leads to dives from The Swirl on Matt and when they roll him into the ring, the Bucks hit a doomsday device on Lee into Blake, followed by the BTE trigger of Blake for the pin and the win.

Winners: The Young Bucks

We then get a recap of the confrontation between MJF and Adam Page for their title match at Revolution followed by a recap of MJF at House of Glory winning his match the last night and Andrade El Idolo and MJF having words after the show. 

Claudio Castagnoli (CMLL World Champion) w/Marina Shafir vs Josh Alexander w/Lance Archer

Tony Khan is in the ring to present the title before the match as is tradition in CMLL.

Josh attacks Claudio before the bell and he works over Claudio in the corner. Josh starts working on Claudio’s leg and they run the ropes. Claudio gets a big slam on Josh and then clotheslines him over the top. Claudio gets a running leap onto Josh on the floor. On the floor, Claudio gets a running uppercut and then rolls Josh into the ring. Claudio gets a double axe handle strike from the top for two.

They trade blows in the middle of the ring. After they go back and forth, Claudio drops Josh with a big chop. They run the ropes and they fight in the corner. Claudio charges at Josh, but Josh dodges and Claudio goes over the top, hitting his knee. Josh whips Claudio into the steel steps on the floor hitting his knee again as we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Josh has a figure four locked on in the ring. Claudio reverses the hold and Josh grabs the ropes for the break. Claudio sells the knee as he pulls himself to his feet. They throw hands and Josh trips Claudio. They go back to throwing hands as Claudio fights to his feet. Claudio gets a gut wrench suplex on Josh and they go back to throwing hands. 

Claudio fights Josh into the corner and keeps up the attack. Claudio gets a bulldog cutter out of the corner for two. Josh grabs an ankle lock when Claudio tries for a giant swing. They go to the apron where Josh slams Claudio onto the apron. Josh covers for two. Claudio gets a back body drop followed by a double stomp, but can’t get the cover.

They both fight their way to their feet and Claudio gets a pop-up uppercut for two. Josh grabs an ankle lock and lays down with it. Claudio gets to his feet and deadlifts Josh into a vertical suplex for two.  Archer and Shafir get on the apron and Claudio kicks Archer off the apron. Josh follows him with a running kick and a German suplex. Claudio gets an uppercut and then a giant swing before his knee gives out. Claudio gets a neutralizer for the pin and the win.

Megan Bayne w/Penelope Ford vs The Already in the Ring Becca

“Let’s see what Becca can do and it doesn’t look like much” - Tony Schiavone

Winner: Megan Bayne

In the back Tommaso Ciampa with Lexi Nair. He says it has been 24 days since he became elite and he wants another match with Mark Briscoe. He then says it’s 10 days since Kyle Fletcher took his title and when Kyle returns, he wants Silvie (the TNT Title) back.

Death Riders (Jon Moxley, Pac, and Wheeler Yuta) vs The Don Callis Family (Mark Davis, El Clon, and Konosuke Takeshita)

Yuta is wearing a knit cap to cover his baldness. He and Takeshita lock up and when Takeshita goes for the hat, Yuta rakes his eyes. They run the ropes and Yuta tries for an octopus hold, but Takeshita shrugs him off. Yuta tries a comebacker attack, and Takeshita drops him. Clon is tagged in as is Pac. They run the ropes. Clon gets a quick series of kicks on Pac and Pac responds with a tilt a whirl backbreaker into an insigiri. 

Pac looks for a monkey flip and Davis chops him down before tagging in. Davis works over Pac in the corner. Pac is able to get away from Davis to get the tag in Mox. Mox and Davis throw hands. Mox gets a drop-kick and then dives onto Davis on the floor. Mox rolls him into the ring and tries for a pile driver. Davis turns it into a backdrop. Mox whips Davis to the corner and hits ten in the corner. Davis picks up Mox and carries him out of the corner into a cutter, and that’s the tag team siren. After knocking the other members to the floor, the Deathly Riders get forever clotheslines in the corner. 

Mox gets a bulldog choke on Davis, and Takeshita breaks it up as we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Mox has been the babyface(?) in peril. Mox Mox is able to pummel Davis and then crawls to his corner for the tag to Pac and Clon also gets a tag. Pac runs wild taking out each member of the Family and then comes off the top with a moonsault onto all three on the floor. 

Clon is rolled into the ring and nails Clon with a German suplex into a spike pile driver for two. Pac goes to the top and Takeshita nails Pac when he comes off the top and it’s time for everyone to get a big move on the last person in the ring until Pac and Clon double drop-kick each other down.

Davis brings a chair into the ring, but Shafir grabs the chair from him. He takes a swing at Shafir and Mox clotheslines Davis to the floor. Yuta and Takeshita are tagged in and Pac tosses Yuta onto Takeshita for two. Yuta and Takeshita go back and forth and Takeshita drops Yuta with an elbow strike. Clon dives onto everyone else at ringside and Takeshita hits the Raging Fire on Yuta for the pin and the win.

Winners: The Don Callis Family

After the match, Mox and Takeshita have words and it ends with Mox getting a Paradigm shift on Takeshita. 

The Babes of Wrath are with Lexi, and they go over how they have beaten Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford three times over the last few weeks, and they will still beat them again.  

Thunder Rosa vs Julia Hart

Glad to see Rosa back. 

They lock up and move to arm bars. Rosa gets arm drag takedowns until Hart rolls out of the ring. Rosa chases her around the ring and then drags her to the floor when she lays in big chops on the outside. Hart rolls into the ring and attacks Rosa when she gets into the ring. Rosa gets an arm drag and then a drop-kick. Rosa gets a basement clothesline for two. 

Hart rakes the eyes and then gets a forearm in the corner before walking the rope. She hits a neckbreaker in the ropes as we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Rosa lays in chops and then hits a cutter on Hart. Rosa gets a leaping lariat in the corner and then hits a running drop-kick on Hart against the ropes. Rosa hits a Northern Lights suplex for two. Hart gets a sole food to the midsection and then charges at Rosa in the corner. Rosa escapes but Hart grabs a quick tarantula until the ref makes her break at four. Hart gets an octopus hold and Rosa powers out and slams Hart for two.

Rosa lays in a series of shots, but Hart trips her and drags her to the corner. Hart goes to the top for a moonsault, but Rosa gets her feet up. Rosa gets the fire thunder driver for the pin and the win.

Winner: Thunder Rosa

In the crowd, Thekla has a mic and cuts a promo on Rosa and says Rosa must have a death wish for picking a fight with Thekla. Thekla says the belt isn’t hers anymore. Hart is about to attack Rosa from behind, but Kris Statlander stops her. 

We see people drinking with Private Party in the back. They say they are ready to take on any tag team. 

Gabe Kidd comes to the announce table to confront Tony Schaivone as Clark Conner joins him. He then says they will fight Orange Cassidy next week and beat him within an inch of his life.

FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) w/Stokley (AEW Tag Team Champions) vs The Rascalz (Desmond Xavier and Zachary Wentz) w/Myron Reed - Eliminator match

FTR has words with the Young Bucks’ family at ringside.

Dax and Wentz lock up and Dax forces them to the ropes where Dax breaks with a slap. They lock up again with arm bars and Wentz slaps Dox when they break. Dax goes to the corner to regroup and then locks up and forces Wentz to the corner where they fight. Wentz gets a leaping tornado off the second turnbuckle for one only. Xavier tags in and the double teams Dax. Dax is able to force Xavier into the corner where Cash tags in and they take Xavier down.

Cash fires jabs and Xavier fires back and hits a cutter for two. Dax grabs Xavier from behind. They low bridge Xavier to the floor as we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, the Rascalz are diving onto FTR on the floor. Xavier rolls Dax into the ring and goes to the top. He leaps over Dax and then gets a rollup on Dax for two. They fight on the apron and Xavier goes for a sunset flip. Cash holds on to Dax until Wentz breaks that up and Xavier covers for two. Dax and Xavier trade chops in the middle of the ring and Xavier gets a series of kicks. Dax gets a series of strikes and a clothesline. 

Dax puts Xavier on top and joins him there. Dax lays in strikes and Xavier is able to fire back. Dax is knocked down and gets a shooting star press as Dax is standing for two. Wentz and Xavier go to the top. Cash knocks Xavier down and Wentz misses. Dax gets a doctor driver on Wentz for two. FTR line up for Shatter Machine and Xavier breaks it up. Wentz gets a rollup for two. 

Xavier gets a leaping knee off a flip into the rope. The Rascalz go for the Hot Fire Flame, but Dax’s knees are up Dax hits a sheer drop brain buster for two. Wentz tries to dive onto Cash, who nails him midflight. Cache runs Reed into the steel steps as the Young Bucks run out to protect. In the ring, the Rascalz hit the Hot Fire Flame for the pin on Dax for the win.

Winning a tag team title shot: The Rascalz. 

After the match Toa Leona and Bishop Kaun come from the back to attack The Rascalz. FTR is trash talking the Bucks' family. FTR toss powder and drag the younger brother of the Bucks into the ring. Ricochet helps FTR hit a stuffed pile driver on the Bucks’ brother and we’re out of time!!
