Former ECW World Champion Shane Douglas has been named to the Beaver County, PA Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2026.
Douglas, real name Troy Martin, held several ECW World Championships as well as the ECW World Television Championship, feuding with Taz, Terry Funk. Sabu, Raven, Tommy Dreamer, The Sandman and more. Douglas also had a run with WCW where he and Ricky Steamboat feuded with The Hollywood Blondes, Steve Austin and Brian Pillman and was portrayed as Magnum TA's protege, which is where Douglas inherited the belly to belly suplex. Trained by Dominic DeNucci, Douglas also had runs with Bill Watts' UWF and with the WWF, including as Dean Douglas, where he briefly held the Intercontinental Championship.
Douglas, now 61, still occasionally wrestles.
Douglas and the other 2026 inductees will be honored on 6/13 at The Beaver County Sports Hall of Fame banquet at The Club at Shadow Lakes in Hopewell, PA.
