All parties in the lawsuit Janel Grant filed against Vince McMahon, WWE, etc. filed a joint motion before The United States District Court of Connecticut today, stating they have agreed to the following timeline:
*4/1 will be the deadline for Grant to file any opposition to the defendants' motion to compel the case into arbitration, which would remove it from public courts and into private negotations.
*5/13 will be the deadline for the defendants to respond to those motions.
It was also noted, "The parties agree to and respectfully propose a date in June 2026 for oral argument on Defendants’ Motions to Compel Arbitration, with the exception of the following dates: June 9-10 and June 22-26" so nothing will be resolved on that front until at least sometime this summer.
The Motion also indicated that the two sides are not at a point where they wish to enter Settlement discussions.
As we have covered numerous times, Grant, a former WWE employee is suing McMahon and the company over alleged sexual abuse she suffered at the hands of McMahon, which led to McMahon having her sign an NDA. When The Wall Street Journal began reporting on the McMahon-Grant story as the WWE Board of Directors at the time became aware of the situation and launched their own internal investigation, McMahon stopped contractually agreed upon payments. This eventually led to McMahon retiring from the company, only to return and use his power as the most powerful shareholder to force himself back into power in order to sell the company to Endeavor, creating TKO. After Grant filed a lawsuit and additional aspects of McMahon's alleged acts became public knowledge, McMahon stepped away from TKO. While he is still a shareholder, he would no longer have the power and abilty to force himself back into a position of power against the company's wishes.
