Given his absence the night ECW became extreme, can you share any insight to whether Terry Funk knew of Heyman's plans to disgrace the NWA title?
I don't know whether Terry knew or not, but given he returned to the company six months after, I don't believe it was a major bone of contention. Tod Gordon wrote in his memoir that Terry pulled out of the show because he was tired of Paul Heyman not getting him his plane ticket information so he finally canceled his appearance. I don't believe Heyman or Funk ever commented on what the situation was.
Did Terry Funk ever do commentary? Feel like he could’ve been really fun on the mic, as either a heel or a face color man.
Funk did commentary for WCW in late 1989 and early 1990. He also did some color on the early ECW TV shows.
When was Terry Funk's last actual match?
Terry did several six man tags where he teamed with The Rock N' Roll Express against Jerry Lawler, Doug Gilbert and Brian Christopher in 2017 in Virginia. Those were the final matches of his career.
What are your all time favorite Terry Funk promos?
I don't know if I could pick a favorite as I've always subscribed to the belief that Funk is the best of all time when it comes to pulling an emotional connection out of the audience, and since there were so many eras of his career which were different, I'm not sure which I would pick as best.
