Spotlight Match: Dante Drago vs Mani Ariez
I haven’t seen Drago in minute and now he’s all about DITB (drago is the best). Ariez is feeling very NOSIRRRRR about that. Drago spends a lot of time on top until Mani hits a gutwrench powerbomb for the three.
Match 1: Bryce Donovan & Vinny Scalise (w/ Smart Mark Sterling) vs Waves & Curls (Traevon Jordan & Jaelyn Brandyn)
My god, welcome back Waves & Curls! Jaelyn and Traevon are making easy work of Scalise. Bryce tags himself in and as usual, he’s no fun. Bryce don’t dance. The good tandem offense of W&C are holding their own but Bryce hits an airplane spin bomb to Jaelyn and takes full control. Traevon with the hot tag but Bryce cuts it off and almost steals the W with a handful of tights! Vinny eats a 3D but kicks out! Bryce kicks Traevon to the floor and proceeds to DESTROY Brandyn with Scalise for a three count so definite, Donovan got to rest on the top rope and take in the win. Wow.
Bryce is BIG MAD that he’s not booked for the next Beyond Supershow in Cranston. He thinks he built this show…so if he can build it, he can destroy it. And for starters, there’s tonight’s main event: He promises to END Bear Bronson.
Match 2: Jariel Rivera vs Eye Black Jack
Oh, Jariel’s here. Jack starts strong but Rivera takes over and works the kid. Jack rallies back at the five minute mark with lariats and a powerslam. The uranage is inevitable and Rivera eats the pin. Good rep for EBJ.
Match 3: Amity Lavey(W/ Tiara James) vs Shannon Levangie (w/ Liviyah)
Tiara is instantly bored watching Lavey get steamrolled, has some words with Liviyah at ringside and just leaves??? The distraction lets Amity take control after watching Shannon crash and burn on a cross body. Shannon takes back over but Tiara runs down and attacks Liv. Shannon is distracted again and Lavey rolls her up for the three! A small contingent of fans (myself included) are happy for this result.
Match 4: Bobby Casale vs Ichiban (w/ Brando Lee)
Bobby is big on the angry tosses tonight. He makes a good case to put away the former Open champ. But after about five minutes of a beating, Ichiban manages to toss Casale to the floor. Molly go round to the floor! Ichi Bankai back in the ring and that’s all she wrote. Ichiban celebrates and Brando Lee calls Ryan Clancy out for their double main event clash!
Main Event 1: Fancy Ryan Clancy vs Brando Lee (w/ Ichiban)
Now this is interesting because it’s NOT part of the number one contender’s tournament and both of these guys advanced in the opening round last week in Worcester. AND they face each other in that tournament semifinal THIS THURSDAY. But here they clash with pride on the line. Clancy trying to keep Lee grounded as the crowd calls Ryan a crybaby. Lee escapes the grasp and starts moving but Clancy really wants to put the brakes on this. He gets into a faceoff with Ichiban at ringside but Ichi is smart and won’t take the bait. The match goes hard, both guys look like they could take it. Lee with an epic dropkick that fires Clancy off the ropes. They wind up in a battle of rollups and Clancy finally grabs the ropes and steals the three.
Lee says this isn’t over. He plans to get his revenge this Thursday in the semifinals. And next week, Ichiban wants to fight Clancy too. Ryan on the mic tries to talk Ichiban out of this. In fact, Clancy doesn’t want to take the match. He thinks his friendship with Ichiban is “worth saving”.
It’s time for our second main event. Bear Bronson vs “a former AEW World Champion”. Who did Mark Sterling hire for this fight??? This tracks. It’s the best wrestler alive: Max Caster!
Main Event 2: Bear Bronson vs Max Caster (w/ Bryce Donovan, Vinny Scalise & Smart Mark Sterling)
I guess the co-holder of the tag and trios titles counts as a “former AEW world champion”. Why Caster thinks he stacks up against Bear in a one on one is a mystery. But hey, it’s a 4on1 numbers game out here right now. Bear just pummeling Caster through the opening minutes. Bryce looks distraught as the former leader of the Shook Crew is being dismantled. Caster finally cuts off the beating on the outside with an eye rake. Bronson eats the post but Max tries to brag and taunt too much and here comes Bear again. Max posts him again and that seems to be the only way he can get any real momentum going. But again, Bear takes control….destroys Max. He gets ready for the fire thunder driver but Bryce and Vinny distract. And here comes Sterling to be a nuisance too. Max with a powerbomb off the corner! Bear kicks out! Max tries a head and arm choke but Bear gets the rope. Max whips him but Bronson flies out at Bryce and Scalise. He chases Sterling into the ring and Max throws on a sleeper…Bear backpacks him. Discus lariat! Fire thunder driver! Bear gets the three after a wild 16 min match!
“Mission Failed” says Bear. Bronson gets what HE wants -> he wants a tag match. Here in Cranston. Bear & Bobby Orlando vs Bryce and Vinny! “The worst is yet to come? you’re damn right. The end is finally here. Good luck.” Says Bronson.
But Bear has a favor to ask of Beyond owner Denver Colorado. He’s furious that Oxx Adams attacked Gabby Forza after she went to war with Krule. He wants to pick a fight at Ballroom Blitz. Gabby is fighting Willow Nightingale that night. Bear wants to fight Oxx! Denver agrees!
