LA Knight going to EC. I was very glad to see him pick up the win, and I hope he has a good run in the chamber, which I absolutely do not expect him to win. In a previous query, you stated (very accurately) that not everyone gets a world title run, and LA may never get it. Do you think, at some point, WWE runs the risk of eroding fan investment in Knight as he keeps getting within shooting distance, but never quite makes it?
That is definitely something that can happen, and has, happened to others. With a star like Knight, if he is not going to get to grab the brass ring they have to book him strongly and give him good reasons, from a booking standpoint, as to why he doesn’t get there. Even with that, as you said, they do run the risk of having the fans stop believing in him.
CM Punk/Finn Balor - Punk, once again, was gold on the mic. It feels personal, and that's always a plus. Do you see this as an earnest attempt to rehab Balor and make him a solid main event singles guy again, or is this more a "challenger of the month" deal ?
It’s definitely the latter. Punk pretty much has to wrestle in Chicago, plus with what they charge for tickets now they have to load the cards up as much as they can. I do hope, however, it’s a step toward getting Balor back to where he was. He’s a phenomenal talent, always has been.
Bron Breakker - injuries ALWAYS suck, no matter your place on the card. But given his upward trajectory, could this have possibly come at a worse time? I feel for him.
It has come at a really bad time, no doubt. There are worse times, like say just when he won a World Title, but yes, this one hurts, especially this far into WrestleMania season.
Does this substantially dilute The Vision? Logan Paul and Bronson Reed are still out there doing the best they can, but Theory is just starting to look more and more like a punching bag. You?
He has definitely been the fourth, now third, wheel. I am hoping that they can elevate him because if he stays in this role, it will hurt him in the long run.
