PWInsider.com is saddened to report the passing of Jim Shank, a long-time WWE production employee who had been with the company for over 26 years, following a battle over the last several years with colectoral cancer. Shanks passed away this past Friday.
Shank started with WWE back in November 1999 and most recently held the position of Technical Operations Manager.
In recent years, Shank was the company's operator for their remote controlled and robotic cameras. Shank was beloved behind the scenes and always considered to be one of the nicest people who worked in the company by those in WWE, which we've heard from those who worked closely with him and those who would routinely see him over the course of events at tapings.
Last year, WWE employees and Shank's friends raised over $200,000 via a GoFundMe Campaign to assist Shank receiving a new therapy that he was in the process of undergoing. Former WWE head Vince McMahon contributed over $122,000 himself to the campaign as did many current and former execs and employees.
Shank had just celebrated his 60th birthday last month.
On behalf of everyone at PWInsider.com, we send our deepest condolences to Jim Shank's family, friends and co-workers.
