ERIC YOUNG VS. RICH SWANN AND MORE: TNA XPLOSION REPORT

By Mike Johnson on 2026-02-03 23:40:00

Welcome to this week's TNA Xplosion report on PWInsider!

Tom Hannifan welcomed everyone to the show.

They went to the Vault for Eric Young with Joe Doering & Deaner vs. Jay White.

They started off with a spirited exchange, battling back and forth.  White went for a suplex but Young battled him into the corner.  White backdropped him.  Young was dumped to the floor and slammed backwards into the ring apron.  White chopped Young hard against the chest and worked him over.  White was grabbed and sent him shoulder-first into the buckles by Young, who stomped away at him.

White sent Young into the corner and nailed an explosive running uppercut followed by a twisting suplex.    White went for the Blade Runner but Young blocked it.  White smothered him in the corner with a boot, talking trash.  White went for a back suplex but Young landed on his feet and drilled him from behind.  Young nailed an elbow and a discus lariat.    They battled back and forth with right hands and chops.

Young was sent into the buckles and went up and over, but almost crashed down on his head.  White went to hit a move off the top but Young bit his face.  White crashed down to the mat.  Young nailed a flying elbow off the top to the floor.  White nailed a big uranage for a two count.  Young was nailed with a snapping Saito suplex.  They battled to the outside, where they ripped at each other's faces.  Young grabbed him and nailed a piledriver on the apron.  Both men went to the floor and the referee began counting them out.  Young recovered first and tossed White into the ring, scoring a near fall.

Young wasn't happy about it.  Young almost scored the pin with his feet on the ropes.  White went for the Blade Runner but Young cut him off and went for the piledriver.  White escaped and nailed the half & half suplex.  He finally nailed the Blade Runner and scored the pin.

Your winner, Jay White!

They showed Jeff Hardy vs. Mustafa Ali from last week's Thursday Night Impact on AMC.

They plugged No Surrender and went to the Top Trending Topics in honor of the late Don West.  #1 was the "firing" of Steve Maclin.

Gia Miller interviewed Mila Moore.  They talked favorite reality series and teased the idea of Moore appearing on Love Island down the line.  This led to Moore talking about the perfect first date.  They talked their love of Los Angeles and how Moore wants to roller skate on the beach in a bikini.  Moore has traveled the world including London and Paris.

Eric Young vs. Rich Swann

Young focused on Swann's arm early.  Swann responded with a big right hand and a kick to the mid-section.  He nailed a legdrop, sending Young to the outside.  Young threatened some ringside fans.  They deserved it.  Young returned to the ring and cut off Swann with a hip attack and a knee in the corner.  Swann made a comeback, nailing a head scissors for a two count.  Swann cinched in an armbar.  Young backed him into the corner and nailed a big right hand.  Swann drilled a big kick to the head.  He went for a leaping move but was caught and hit with a neckbreaker for a two count.  EY is so good, he's underrated because I think a lot of people take for granted how good he is.  He used a boot to choke out Swann in the corner, then turned his attention to yelling at the fans.  The crowd chanted he still sucked.

Young drilled Swann with another neckbreaker but Swann kicked out at the last second.  Swann was whipped sternum-first into the buckles.  Swann nailed a boot as Young advanced, then hit a big leaping clothesline.  Swann opened up with a series of jabs and nailed a neckbreaker.  Swann drilled a kick to the back of the head and nailed Rolling Thunder for a two count.  Swann nailed a kick to the face, then nailed a springboard cutter for another close two count.

Swann went to the ropes but was caught and nailed with a wheelbarrow into a neckbreaker, which looked great.  Young made the cover but Swann kicked out at the last second.  Swann nailed a leaping rana off the top, then went for the 450 splash.  No water in the pool.  Young nailed a piledriver and scored the pin.

Your winner, Eric Young!

Very good, well done babyface vs. heel match.
