DETAILS ON ONGOING LAWSUIT AGAINST INDEPENDENT PROMOTION ICW: NO HOLDS BARRED

By Mike Johnson on 2026-02-03 11:48:00

Recently, PWInsider.com was asked about the existence of a lawsuit against independent promotion ICW: No Holds Barred after promoter Danny Demanto made reference to it on the mic at a recent event as well on social media, implying that it could hurt the future of the promotion.

In February 2024, a Rachel Price filed a lawsuit against the promotion as well as the parent company of The Heart Ballroom in Newark, New Jersey, where ICW: NHB has run regularly before the United States District Court of New Jersey.

In her lawsuit, Price alleged she was working for the venue at a 6/25/22 ICW: NHB event when there was an announcement made that those with vehicles in a lot adjacent to the move their vehicles.  Price claims she exited the venue via a side door to move her vehicle, but poor lighting, a lack of railing, no signage and a lack of employees stationed at the door caused her to fall from the landing to the floor below, at least three feet, where she was injured.  Price has alleged she has permanent personal injuries and is suing for over $75,000.

Court records indicate that the parent company of the Heart Ballroom never responded and a summary judgment was ruled against them.  Whether Price recovered any damages from them is unknown.

ICW: NHB did respond to the lawsuit, basically stating that any issues that happened were the responsibility of the venue, not them, as they had merely rented the space for the evening.

On 1/29, ICW:NHB's attorney withdrew from the case as he had relocated.  The court is allowing the case to be paused while they lock down new legal representation.

There is a settlement conference currently set for 3/10.
