Onto the Rumble, I suppose.  Don’t I sound excited?

Yes you do!

No real surprises in terms of winners, I was 4/4 for the night, personally.  Do you think the choices, particularly the Rumble winners were safe, smart, or both?

Safe?  Yes.  Liv deserves the spot in my opinion.  She has never won before and she earned the right to win one.  As I said before, I would have had Bron Breakker win but WWE is trying to sell more tickets to WrestleMania, and they need to, so I see why they went with Punk-Roman.  I think to the fans that only come around this time of year, that will be a better hook for them.

Was the place full or not?   I couldn’t tell with the way they had the square lights in the audience at times?

That was an odd look, for sure.  With that said, I don’t watch the crowd, I listen to them.  A hot crowd, which the Saudi crowd was, adds to the show for me.  Looking at the fans?  Not so much.

They flew Lesnar over there for that?  Always a fan of Suplex City, but that was an underwhelming appearance.  You?

I was fine with it.  I didn’t want him winning or dominating the match for too long.  The Saudis pay a lot of money for the shows so yes, it was worth flying him over!

Poor LA Knight….are they ever going to pull the trigger on him for a top title run?  I know he’s not that old, but at 43, the clock is ticking.  What’s your over/under on them giving him a run at some point?

If I had to bet, I would take the under here.  I love Knight and have for years, but not everyone gets to be champion.  Roddy Piper never held the belt so it’s not like it’s egregious.  I saw no chance that he would win The Rumble.

Two of the debuts in the Men’s Rumble were very contrasting to me;  Oba Femi and the former Powerhouse Hobbs.  Femi was very dominant and Hobbs had some brief glimmers of offense and that was that.  It felt very Vince-like where the homegrown talent really got to shine and the new company acquisition (from a competitor) was just sort of there.  Am I being too picky & over analyzing it?

I get what you are saying but I didn’t see it that way.  Femi is not only home grown (and scary looking) but he has also been on WWE TV before.  He took Cody Rhodes to the limit so I saw it as them building on his character while in the case of Hobbs we got an introduction to a new guy.
