WWE STARS RETURN TO STATES, AJ STYLES NOTE, RUMBLE PRODUCTION ISSUES AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2026-02-01 12:53:00

The first group of WWE talents and staffers are scheduled to return this afternoom to Philadelphia from Riyadh.

A correction from an article about AJ Styles yesterday after he lost to GUNTHER.  I had written Styles was not slated for Raw.  There was a typo in that it should have read "There is no word whether" Styles is slated for Raw.  Somehow when I posted, I cut off part of the sentence.  It's since been corrected but wanted to point it out for anyone who didn't see.  If the company wanted to celebrate his career, the forthcoming Raw in Atlanta would be the right place to do it.

Those in the company were raving about the performances of Sol Ruca and Oba Femi yesterday.   There was also a lot of praise for Je'Von Evans.  The feeling was last night was the true start of getting new names established for the future.

For those who have asked about the look of emptiness of The Royal Rumble event last night, we are told that the setup for the LED lights actually made the venue look as if it wasn't as full as it actually was.  WWE sources indicated they had 25,000 tickets moved for the event but the LED lighting from the seats on the broadcast did not come across as well as it did live.  One person noted that they did not expect to try that production element again when they return to Saudi Arabia.

There was also a production error during the live show where after #30 entered the Men's Rumble, the graphic on the screens live in Riyadh automatically changed to listing a #31 entering.  We are told that was just a byproduct of the program they were using for graphics.

Finn Balor took to Twitter complaining about being disrespected by Adam Pearce as he wasn't allowed in the Rumble match, so that will be a storyline element going forward.

The WWE 2K26 video game gameplay trailer was released yesterday:
