PAUL HEYMAN TALKS WWE ROYAL RUMBLE AND MORE ON ESPN'S 'FIRST TAKE'

By Mike Johnson on 2026-01-28 11:49:00

WWE Hall of Famer Paul Heyman appeared this morning on ESPN's First Take to promote the 2026 WWE Royal Rumble this weekend.

Heyman joined the broadcast from Saudi Arabia.  Heyman played up to Stephen A. Smith and his recent appearance on General Hospital.

They talked up the storyline from Raw with The Vision all competing in the Rumble match.  He said it's almost as big as the Rumble being endorsed by The Vision.  He declared Bron Breakker would be main eventing Wrestlemanias into the next generation.  He praised Austin Theory having a 30 year career ahead of him.  He put over Bronson Reed defeating Roman Reigns.  He said Logan Paul is a disruptor and they "may have another surprise coming to Riyadh."  Their goal is to make Bron Breakker.

Smith asked Heyman what he did to get Breakker's suspension lifted.  Heyman said there wasn't anything he couldn't do to get things done, which is why he is the last manager from the '80s and the last promoter from the '90s still standing.

Heyman said they want to make Breakker this weekend.  He has a vision for the others to main event Wrestlemanias, but the first in line is Bron Breakker.  Smith asked why Breakker.  Heyman said the best bet for the Vision is to put Breakker in place and then the cards are all on their side of the table.  They have to have a strategy.  He made comparisons to football strategy in the NFL calling plays.  He said it's a team effort with a unique vision.  Breakker will be the winner of the Rumble and goes onto Wrestlemania and becomes to new Champion.

Smith teased Heyman for leaving the cold of NYC and not inviting Smith to come with him.  Heyman said his son has arranged for the same jet to take Smith back to Miami anytime Smith wants.
