MLW announced they will present CMLL Fantastica Mania USA on 4/12 in Charleston, South Carolina.
The event, which will co-promoted with New Japan Pro Wrestling, is an American offshoot of the traditional lucha shows CMLL and New Japan present in Japan, dating back to 2011. The 4/12 event is set for Festival Hall in Charleston with tickets on sale this Friday.
The MLW press release featured the following comments from Court Bauer - "As the owner of Major League Wrestling, it matters to me that our hometown always gets the very best this sport has to offer. Charleston welcomed MLW home, and now it’s only right that we make history here. We’re proud to partner with New Japan Pro-Wrestling and CMLL to bring Fantastica Mania to the Holy City.”
The press release citied Bauer also crediting NJPW Chairman Naoki Sugabayashi, CMLL’s Salvador Lutteroth Lomelí, Hiroshi Tanahashi, and Don Gato Tequila’s Danny McBride for helping make the event possible.
Interestingly, the press release mentions a Fusion TV Taping as part of the event. MLW has not produced a weekly series in some time but has been ramping up towards returning to that format.
MLW recently relocated its HQ to Charleston.
